I have a 2005 RSV that purchased used on 07. It is under warranty until next year and I have transferred the warranty but I don't remember getting any information on the roadside assistance I've seen mentioned here. How can I tell if I have the coverage and get the number? Also, if I am not covered what are your recommendations for a Roadside Assistance plan? I have been looking at the plans from AMA and MRF, but would like feedback from those who have used the various plans. Thanks, Jim

I purchased a Kuryakyn battery/volt meter and hope to install it this week on top of the triple tree emblem. Has anyone else put one of these on. Where do you tie in electrically so as to get as accurate a reading as possible? Thanks Jim

I have had quite a few myself, but my favorite happened to my Uncle Jim. I grew with my whole family riding bikes. When I was a teenager me and my brother had 2, my Mom & Dad both had 1, my grandfather had 1, had 2 uncles that had bikes and several cousin that did. We used to take vacations to Camp Albert Pike in Arkansa and would trailor some dirt bikes to ride in the mountains there. Uncle Jim who did not own a bike wanted to ride one so my Grandfather had a Suzuki 90 that had the short fat tires on it an told him to take it. Uncle Jim took off by himself and was gone for several hours. We were getting worried about him and fixin to send out a little search party when we saw him pushing the bike back. We all walked over to see what was wrong. Uncle Jim was standing there holding up the bike and sweat was pouring off him. My Grandfather asked him what happened and he said he had run out of gas. My Grandfather asked if he had switched to reserve and Uncle Jim looked at him funny like what are you talking about. My Grandfather reached down and switched to reserve and with 3 kicks started it up. Uncle Jim was mad as a hornet and started cussing and swearing about having pushed the bike a couple of miles. We all fell about laughing histerically. The more we laughed the madder Uncle Jim got. To this day when we all get together we remind Uncle Jim about his little exercise session on the mountain.

Hello, I tried a Royal Star but ended up with a VTX. The bars on the RS were much better than my VTX bars and I want to put some on it. Does anybody know the diameter of the bar on the RS, and the width of the section that is clamped? Thanks... Jim

Headlamp warning light
CrazyHorse posted a topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
On my dash headlght warning lamp (the white one) is always on the headlight bulb is fine. Is this supposed to be on all the time or does it indicate a problem? What do I need to look for to fix it? Thanks Jim. -
I thought I'd share some news regarding a close friend and family. Cullen Bryant, 7 year old son of Jim Bryant (v4more here, and Jimb on the Venturer site) passed away this afternoon after courageous battle with cancer. It's difficult enough for a mother and father (and one surviving brother) to lose one child to cancer, but they lost their oldest son to cancer as well about 10 years ago. Many of the Twin-Cities area VentureRider members may have crossed paths with Jim over the years as he lives in New Richmond WI. Curt

Some of the reviews say the brakes are the weak point on the 2005+ RS. Can they be upgraded to, say, Brembos, or anything? Thanks Jim

Beautiful day today so I played hookie and decided to go for a ride, contacted one of our members, "Pilot" from Delaware and asked if he would be interested in getting together for lunch, he said he was free, so I headed the 130 miles to our meeting point. I had originally planned on treating him to lunch at a rest. but once I got down there he insisted on taking me back to his place and he fired up the grill, we sat around and swapped the bull had a great lunch and then he rode about an hr north with me on my ride home. Jim is a great guy and his wife treated me like family, it just amazes me how friendly the people are on this site, Arent alot of places in this world where you can contact a person you never met, get together for lunch swap a few stories and feel as though you connected. Thanks again Jim for your hospitality, and thanks Don for starting this group. Geez 20 more years of this, and I could be Lowell Jr. Craig

Getting ready to "retire" and am thinking about working with the instruction schools in the area. Wondering how many instructors we have on the site, how you became an instructor and would you be able to supplement retired pay by doing so? Appreciate any comments. Jim T

I installed the mic-mute on the bike and so far i'm not happy with it. We ride with ear plugs in and have the volume on the intercom up high. The mic-mute toggles the intercom but we get motor feedback no matter the ptt position. Anybody else have this problem, noticed it? We can eliminate the noise by turning down the intercom volume....but that defeats the purpose of the mic-mute!!!! Jim

I moved from a two car garage to a small one car garage. I can get the bike and car both in but can't maneuver it. I think the cycle dolly would work great and was just wondering if anyone has used it. http://www.cyclestuff.org/CycleDolly.html Thanks Jim

What headlight modulators are people using and is there any problems with the light bulb burnout feature. I was looking at signal dynamics and the Kisan ones. Thanks Jim.
