  1. Where can I buy it - my local honda shop is out
  2. I don,t like the antennas on my bike. First of all, I'll never use de CB. I prefer listening music. Could you tell me if I can replace those antennas and install a new one directly on the fairing? Like a shark blade as we see on the top of many cars like Honda Accord 2009, Mazda 6 and many other car. By the way, How coud I fix the chrome trim on my fearing, It still goes off a little bit all the time Thanks for your reply P.S. I'm riding on a midnight venture 2007
  3. Have seat as well - rip in the leather - bucket and foam good condition - more luggage pieces not in pic's. Scoot was running well when retired. I bought it for the carbs and throttle cables figured I could pay for my stuff selling the rest. The bike rear ended a Honda (car) and the left front of fairing is gone, the owner tried finding a fairing to replace, gave up and sold it as a parter. Bull
  4. Over the last few weeks I have been teaching my wife to ride a bike again. She road one of my bikes about 30 yrs ago. She only road a couple of times, so she was a little nervous. She did her M1 beginners a month ago and we have been using my son’s Honda 600 Shadow to do a 100 stop and starts with me on the back. I told her once she is comfortable stopping and starting with the two of us, it will be a peace of cake alone. This afternoon she said she was ready, so we fired up both bikes and headed out to practice on the back roads solo. She did great. She was really nervous but we took our time and she road for about an hour. She does the official training course next weekend at the collage and will get her M2 level when she completes it. Now the best part of this is :stickpoke:teasing my son. He’s a basket case , I told him to take some pics of it while it was in one peace. He has no sense of humour and I don’t cut him any slack. Back to the main topic, she handled the bike very well but does find it heavy. She is not a big lady and I think it is smaller the than my old Honda 500 custom. Is the bike to big to learn on? My son had no problem but he is stronger and has about 60 lbs on her. What size of bike did the ladies in this club/form learn on? Do you think I should find something smaller or should we just take our time with this one? I think  she is just nervous about dropping it because everything is overwhelming at the start. She has to concentrate on everything until it becomes more natural. After she rides more she won’t find herself having to try and think of everything that has to be done while driving.
  5. I'm always looking for alternatives (for everything) as long as the item is as good or better than OEM, close to the same price or less and fits and works correctly... like my rear car tire. When I worked in Nissan parts I did some research and found the Nissan oil filters were a good replacement as far as fit, quality, bypass, etc. I used them on my Road Star and would have on the Venture if I was still there. I'm now at a Honda car dealer and I was going to use the Honda filter since it also fits but I found from researching it that they are made by Honeywell (FRAM) so I passed. (I will NOT use a Fram product) The Honda filters in the past (2-3 years ago) were made by Filtech and were tested as some of the best. We just got a stock order and Honda has gone back to Filtech filters. Just info if anyone is interested. Honda part# 15400-PLM-A01 (3 1/4" length) (15400-PLM-A02 is the Fram filters)
  6. check out this Honda Venture on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280321246569&viewitem=
  7. What do you girls think of this bike? Ain't it pertttttttty? It's a Honda Rebel 250. Just thought it was neat.
  8. what is the date of the litchfield appreciation days at the honda, yamaha dealer? thanks.
  9. Hi, SW Moto Tire here in Tucson has had a good rep on this site for some time with good prices and service. FYI, they were recently sold to the guy that owns AZ Honda, the biggest Honda dealer in town. I actually went to the parts counter in the Honda shop to pick up my tires from SW Moto. I had no problem, the prices were still good, and the guy said that the two businesses are still technically separate, though housed together and owned by the same guy. But just be aware that things might change. Jeremy
  10. Yamaha sold the most bikes during the 2008 year even beating Honda firgures are only for Japanese Bikes Harley was about 75,000 behind Yamaha.. Suzuki even beat Honda. Which surprises me I would have thought Honda would dominate them all. Good for Yamaha. Kawasaki was far behind the others. http://www.webbikeworld.com/Motorcycle-news/blog/
  11. I was reading the thread on oils. It sounds like most of you use mobil 1. Is that auto oil or do they make Mobil 1 for cycles to? & what kind of filters do you use? auto or cycle. I am new at this & just learning about the doos & dont's on hear. I road a HONDA 900 custom for 22 years with no problums. Just gas oil & tires. used nothing but honda oil in it with no problums. auto oil & filters would be a lot cheeper!!!!! I just got a new 08 venture. "not home yet" I hope it will be a good up grade? The Honda is for sale.
  12. At the New York International Motorcycle Show Honda released the Honda Fury, which was teased with last month... Basically, it is production chopper based off the 1300 VTX BUT it's 1312cc V-Twin is fuel injected...which is kinda odd to me being their actuall 1300 VTX is carburated... Too me, it is a littel late in the game and doesn't have near the style of a Yamaha Raider...but that is just me... Although, I do like that matte black... click here for more info
  13. Say it ain't so! Honda Hoot 2009 Canceled Due to Economic Uncertainty 12/19/08 Torrance, CA: American Honda announced today that the 2008 Honda Hoot will bring to a close 15 years of what has been one of the most successful motorcycle rallies in history. Over the years, almost a quarter of a million guests attended the Honda Hoot which was born in the hills of Ashville North Carolina and eventually moved to Knoxville, Tennessee. At the first event, a little over 3000 attendees enjoyed what would grow to become one of the largest rallies in North America The Hoot set new precedence for what a motorcycle rally should be, offering not only a wonderful opportunity to test ride new products but also focusing on family fun and growing the industry from the ground up. Based on the current economic crunch which may have significant impact on our customers during 2009, American Honda will take this time to seek out new and innovative ways to engage with our customers so that we can continue to ride together. American Honda extends our deepest gratitude to the more than 1,300 volunteers who helped make the Honda Hoot a success and to all our event sponsors, to our two host cities, Knoxville, Tennessee and Asheville, North Carolina, and especially to all the good people who helped make the Hoot such a great event. http://www.hondahoot.com/index.aspx?bhcp=1
  14. Going through some old boxes I found some old pics of Jeans 550 Honda and my 750 Honda SS. The 550 was on a trip to Mt Washington NH circa 1978. Also some pics of my trailer, which I sold a few years ago.
  15. For months now in various cycle magazines Honda has adds of this guy on a bike in a leather jacket. In the latest Rider it's on the inside cover. You can only see the back of the jacket. Elbow patches, expansion accordion gussets wide kidney belt etc... At first, I liked it and tried to find it, no success..... Then I REALY liked it! Searched all the catalogs, called the local Honda stealer (What an a**hole!) Nothing!!! Come on guys !! Help me here!!! This thing has gone from like to lust!!! I have got to find out who makes this thing!!!! :crying:

  17. Early bulletin from Honda on the 2009 Models: http://powersports.honda.com/motorcycles/touring_sport_touring/model.asp?ModelName=2009+Gold+Wing+Audio%2FComfort%2FNavi%2FXM&ModelYear=2009&ModelId=GL18HPNM9 See if you can tell by looking at the link what they added to the 2009 Goldwing. Other new news from Honda – the DN01 (Cool looking Automatic bike) is coming to the US. That’s about it (besides a few new dirt bikes – fuel injected). Honda’s official announcement is next week. Also – the new Suzuki’s are out. There is a new Boulevard M90 and a smaller Boulevard M50 (Black and Limited models as well) and new colors. The GXR1000 has been redone and there is a new standard model called the Gladius. Stuart
  18. yeah I know it's not a Venture. A friend of mine passed this along to me to see if I knew anyone who might be interested in something like this. 1998 Honda ST1100 with less than 19000 miles, new tires, shaft drive, cruise control, fairing, bike cover, hasn't been ridden in 1 1/2 yrs. Corbin leather seat with fold down back rest, new original seat, service manual. Batt. is down, (bad??), buy as is. Price several months ago was $3500. Don't know if that is negotiable or not. The bike is in Victoria, Tx. if interested let me know and I will shoot a P.M. with owners ph. no. Other than what is posted, I have not seen bike or know anything about it. Don H.
  19. well i have really tried to pick this scoot to pieces. only two complaints, biggest is i need more time to ride it, and rough front suspension. i plan on fixing those two. it is the ultimate do it all road bike bar none. i tried to hate it, just won't happen. not prejudist cuz i own one, just can't lie about it. honda did good. i picked at it and it just keeps fighting me back and doing everything absolutly perfect, so i guess i have to throw in the towel and love it. what a machine. let the bashing begin. bill
  20. What I'm looking for is something so my wife and I can chat if we so desire. The problems is that we ride on two different bikes. Are there any options out there that will allow us to talk to each other. She rides a Honda Shadow 1100 so the cb is not even an option. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance David

  23. A buddy of mine has a Honda Cruiser and wanted some different front signal lights. He bought some that are made for a Harley. They are not LED. Now his signal lights flash very fast. Anyone know how to fix this problem?
  24. Not me.My bike took 2nd place.More than a hundred bikes and 1st place was a Victory with California sidecar and my Venture took 2nd place. Not too shabby considering there was at least 75 Brand *X * bikes there and several trikes. Also the burnout was won by a Honda Shadow.
