You got a present coming. Not as big as Bongo's, but that just between us. Gary

You got a present coming. First one to guess what it is, beside you, gets something to be determined later. Won't be much though. Gary

An 86-year-old man goes for a physical. All of his test results come back normal. The doctor says, "Gary everything looks great. How are you doing mentally and emotionally? Are you at peace with God?" Gary replies, "God and I are tight. He knows I have poor eyesight, so he's fixed it so when I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, *poof* the light goes on. When I'm done, *poof* the light goes off." "Wow, that's incredible," the doctor says. A little later in the day, the doctor calls Gary's wife. "Marianne, he says, Gary is doing fine but I had to call you because I'm in awe of his relationship with God. Is it true that he gets up during the night and *poof * the light goes on in the bathroom, and when he's done, *poof* the light goes off?" "OH MY GOSH!" Marianne exclaims. "He's peeing in the refrigerator again!!!!"

Hey thanks to a number of you who sent me Birthday emails. Having a birthday the day after of Christmas is what it is ie: You get one sock one day one the next. And I suspect 57 will not seem all that different then 56. I am ready to retire to somewhere where I can ride year round. Happy New Year to you all. Gary

Does anyone have the contact info for the fellow that was doing airbrushing at Don's MD in 2010? My cousin wants to get some work done on his HD. Gary

Well, we all know the rules. What happens at a VentureRider event stays at the VentureRider event. However, as with every rule, there is an exception. And at the 2010 Pork in the Pines, we had one of those exception moments. And that moment necessitated a site name change for one of our members. From here and henceforth Grandpagak (Gary), shall be known as WHOOMP. Those in attendance are more than familiar with the event prompting this change. So, I will leave it up to Gary to tell the story, if he so decides. WHOOMP, it's your choice. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Been busy down at Grandpagak's for the last week. I have stripped down my 83 VR, for a paint job. I figured, since it hasn't gone deer hunting for 4 years, it is about time to do it. Gary had offered to do the painting & figured on 3 days for the prep work. I pulled the plastic, pinstriping & had fun getting the pinstriping adhesive off. I also did repairs as needed with the plastex, prior to passing off to Gary, for his part. These pics are of the 2nd attempt, as there was a lot of fisheyes looking back after the 1st try. A bug also bit the farm, on the front fender this time. But it will be under the fork brace, so I will pick it out & most likely clean the bugs track from center & install as is. I did get extra paint, for any possible future work needed & I wanted it to be the same stuff. But here are some pics taken tonight, with more to follow later in the week.

Freebird's latest effort to stem overuse of paper at MD. Attendees had to see Boss for each ration of paper. http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af193/gdingy101/PICT0383s.jpg Gary

I made a custom road peg mount for the bike this week. These let me stretch my legs all the way out. When they were mounted to the crash bars they were not far enough forward. Gary

I've been thinking about adding a relay to power the headlight hi/lo directly from the battery, essentially bypassing the connection through the CMU. It could be done using one relay with normally closed going to the lo beam with the switched circuit going to the hi beam operated by the dimmer switch. Or alternatively using one relay for each of the hi and lo beams. I pulled this quote from another thread. Gary what relay option did you use? The first one would seem the simplest but may not allow the lo beam to be shut off by the start circuit.

Well I have been fooling with this for a while but I just got the mount back from powder coat. Thanks Gary! Assembled it all together, pre-wired the bike so I should be good to go on Saturday and mount and see if the little bugger works or not. Mount made by Renne it was a great job and a hell of a design as far as I am concerned. Paint by Gary and fooling around by me. I think it is exactly what I wanted to so fooling around is just part of the deal for me! YA I KNOW!!!! Where the heck are the pictures? RIGHT HERE!!!!!!!! Befor paint and after powder coat

Yesterday morning our CMA chapter had its monthly chapter meeting. We had noticed our dear brother Pastor Gary Laird was not present at the start of the meeting. Within 30 minutes we recieved word a biker on a white Harley was down near by and started praying. A few minutes later we were informed our brother was the victim and was killed instantly because a cager failed to pay attention and turned in front of Garys white 2007 Harley Ultra Classic. Gary was a very safe rider, he had full protective leather and a full helmet. Despite his best efforts to protect himself, the careless driver a 1984 Lincoln towncar (tank) stole the life of a worth while individual. No charges were made at the time and the crash was listed a under investigation. His wife, family, friends and church will deeply miss this man of God but so will the patients at the nearby hospice he volunteered at weekly, the orphanges he supported in Mexico will have an uncertain future and so many more community organizations now have a void. I was first saddened and then angered at the local paper giving Gary 5 small lines and yet a cager crash nearly a quarter of a page. When will we cease to be second hand citizens? Sorry guys, I just had to vent and you guys are good at listening.

I was at a local TSC (Tractor Supply Center) and they had gallons (128 oz) of Seafoam for $39.99. 16 oz cans were $7.99 which would extend out to $63.92 for a gallon. I know some of you like seafoam more than ice cream (you aint right) so I thought I would post it here. Gary
