Awning/cover for the tape deck? I have a slight misalignment issue due to the TCI being mounted inside the fairing there- causes a small gap around the outboard side of the tape deck and how it lies down in the recess. I figure I can keep the majority of water away from the area with the awning and then seal it up the rest of the way with electrical tape (service removable) or RTV (permanently affixed- not good).

Will anyone have a laptop that I could periodically borrow (for a few minutes) - and if so, what kind? I have to figure couple of things out - and asking in advance as I am not that computer literate. Thanks, everyone.

We have been home from our ~6700 mile cross-country ride for 1 full week now... and I have already been looking at maps for a couple of days trying to figure out "where next". If there is a halfway house for this kind of thing... maybe I will wave as I go by.

Checking to see who might be going to Laconia. I am leaving from Wareham, MA on Friday morning, the 17th, and staying thrue the weekend. I am looking to put a audio system on my 2005 RSTD. I am not sure how many watts the bike can handle. I would like something that can drowned out the noisy Harleys that are on the road. I figure a 850 watt system should do that:rotf:. Does anyone have any suggestions:confused24:? I apperciate any suggestions and or pictures. -
Is there a trick for getting to the air filters? I need to change the filters, but so far I haven't been able to figure out how to get to them.

This will drive you crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep at it 'cause it is possible. This is one way to keep your mind sharp! It's a little 'test' that is (supposedly) part of a second grade Computer class in China . Some figure it out right away. Others report having to work on it for a week (or more) to solve it. here's a question i dont think i've read and if so please forgive me or you can thump my head in june at maint day.called jake wilson before i ordered my 150/90-15(80h)avon venom am42 rear black wall tire to get date off of tire and they told me its from20 09 09 which i figure is sept-09 2009 which puts it at being a year and a half old already,didnt ask if it was a controled temp warehouse but what is the oldest tire (date) i should consider????

The title says it all........ this was on my way into work yesterday..... burrrrrrrrrrr. Gotta love a heated jacket liner and gloves from Gerbing. Now to figure out how to keep my eyeglasses from fogging up as I only have a 1/2 helmet.

Hi, I am looking at purchasing a 2004 Midnight Black RSV. I am wondering if anyone has had their bike dynoed and what HP is actually measured on the rear wheel? Yamaha says 98 but that is at the crank. Its a shaft drive so I figure minus give or take 20% so let's say 70 to 74 HP actual? Thanks Chris in Red Deer, Alberta -
Ok I know there is some kind of trick to getting the bike up on the center stand...so what is it? I feel like such an idiot for not being able to figure out how to get the bike on the center stand. Does the side stand have to be up?

Hey Tom. I hope you can see the attached photos of what I need. The straps would thread through the clasps where my finger is pointing in the second photo. I did not go on the M/C even after rushing to get the parts for it, the weather was to nasty so I took the truck with my 4 legged kids to Alexander Springs ( Ocala National Forest) I bought an old Sears canvas tent from an estate sale years ago for 10$ and never set it up till this week, all the parts were there but took a while to figure out, it was waterproof with all the rain we had. This was my first trip there and it was nice, the water was crystal clear but cold, I will go back again.

I met up with a buddy at the Buc-cees in Pearland, thence to ride to a Texans-Cowboys party. I was gassing up when I spied a white RSTD right behind me. I went over and introduced myself. Then I introduced myself again because he had music in his helmet and didn't hear me the first time. LOL His name was Ed. I told him that I had to say hi, since RSTDs are so rare. He didn't realize that I was also riding one until I pointed it out. RSTDs are just so rare that you can hardly believe you are seeing one! I asked if he ever had heard of VentureRiders, and he told me that he is addicted to the site. Ed even knew who I was! I suggested that he join, because then he'd be more attuned to the fellowship. We had a meet n eat yesterday, he should have come! There are so many intangible and tangible benefits of this site! His is a pretty white 2006, set up solo. Other than that, it is pretty stock. Really clean. He came over to look at Roxie, and declared her really tricked out. I don't think so, but she isn't stock. I pointed out my airhorn as one mod I did that I found important. He told me he'd been trying to figure out how to add the horn. Well, no need to struggle! Join the site and send up a flare! We're all happy to help. Honestly, Ed, you don't need to join the site. Send me a PM if you are able, and I'll come help you figure out your airhorn. And more. But you really ought to think about joining the rabble. We're like family: completely dysfunctional! Dave

Hey guys, got a problem I hope y'all can help me with. I've got a set of J&M headsets in Nolen helmets. I am quite pleased with them so far, however today when riding I noted I was getting engine noise (static) through the headset. It wasn't "terrible" but was darn annoying. Anyway, while i was stopped I went to adjust the intercom volume. when I hooked my headset back up I immediately encounted an Unbelievable LOUD SHRIEK!!!! The volume of this was NOT affected by the volume control (at least that i could figure out. I disconnected/reconnect a couple times with NO luck in making it go away. I was running late for home so I disconnected and highballed back to the house. Anyway, does anybody have any ideas/suggestion concerning resolving these issues? I'd really appreciate it! THANKS!!!

I've been running AVG 9.0 free for about a month now but my Quickbooks started acting up. so in my infinite "wisdom" I figure I'd download PCSecurity shield2010, a program which I had paid for but due to repeated hard drive problems had not been re-installed (yet). So after installing this I ran a system scan; after 14-1/2 hours it still wasn't finished! Can't un install AVG; can't uninstall security shield; firefox won't open; outlook was acting up and after rebooting the ultimate insult, I can't get past the boot screen. i.e I cannot open it in safe mode. I do not want to re-format this thing AGAIN if at all possible. I figure I can take it upstairs and throw it of the front porch and put it out of it's misery, but my company files are on there so maybe someone here has a better alternative???

Good evening all, went out for a late night rip after getting the steering re-packed , sooooo out and about kept on hearing this "thumping" sound from the steering head area, when I hit a bump, concerned turned the bike around and got her home, jacked her up, checked all the usuals, when I found my Steering stem Nut loose:mad:...... and i mean LOOOSE, tightened it up with a pair of vice grips, steering is still nimble so i figure that was it, QUESTION: did I miss something else to check or should I beat my mechanic when I call him in the morning? not that i actually would but seriously thinking about it....

Help! I want to know how to insert an image using the yellow letter icon above where we type our message. It asks for my URL, and has http:// and then what? I have tried to figure this out, but obviously I have had to admit, I do not know. I would appreciate your help. I guess I am a better person for it. Yama Mama
