this is not an update on the rally, but i just wanted to relate to alot of the new members what it's all about. it is the main event every year for the venture riders. this year it will be at the hub motorcycle resort in ar., 9 miles south of harrison ar. all members are invited and it is your chance to really get involved and meet lots of fine people and make many new friends. it will be a chance to let your hair down and relax and get away from all your problems for a couple of days. we are going to have rides , vendors, activities for the kids, lots of food, games, sight seeing in some of the best touring areas in the usa, bar none. and more things we haven't thought of yet. if any one has any questions ,you can pm me, and check out all the info under rides and rallies. bill

The weather here was a little cold to ride today so I had a good time watching the Baltimore Ravens battle a hard game. It's nice to see a good young QB for the team as well. How many people think they have a chance of the Super Bowl Ring? Go Ravens Bill

I just thought I would post a friendly reminder to all of our friends in GA, AL, SC, NC, TN, KY, etc., that the Wheels Through Time M&E is coming up fast this Saturday! If you have never been to this great museum, it might very well be your last chance to visit, since they are closing at the end of this month and are strongly considering a move out of the Maggie Valley area, possibly to AZ. I know you are all thinking that I am going to warn of hitting your leg on the exhaust. Although a concern and painful when done, that is not my warning here. As we all know, there are LOTS of bugs out there. There is an odd chance that one of those bugs just may be a bee. And there is an odd chance that that bee just might end up in the leg of your shorts. That makes bees angry. You don't want an angry bee in the nether regions of your short.

Rode Highway 12 from Missoula, Montana, to Lewiston, Idaho, today. What a ride! Over the high pass and down to the Lochsa Lodge for breakfast and then follow the raging river for over a hundred miles. If you get a chance, make this ride! Lynn Yes, I know. Just wondering if someone with this group was west bound on Golfllnks on a 1st gen about 5:45 this morning? There was a cop on a 2 wheeler in the traffic too so I didn't get a chance to catch up. Jerry

I put a new battery in my 2003 Saturday. It seems it runs better with more acceleration. Is there any chance the two things are related?

just wanted say that the robert earl keen and the oak ridge boys show in brewton ala . was freaking wonderful. that to them for a fantastic peformance. if any one gets a chance to go se them dont miss it

a while back there was a post on how to remove the ais but i cant seem to find it. was it by chance pre crash and never posted again? does anyone know where it is or who posted it? any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks mike

Greetings friends, I'm new to the Venture. I have a 2005 model, and my questions are: Is there an aftermarket tach for the RSV? And, is there a rev limiter on these bikes? Can someone post the max spped in each gear, and the normal speed shift points? I came off of a VTX1800 to the RSV and haven't gotten the chance to ride it much due to the weather. So I'm kinda having trouble breaking myself of the VTX's characteristics.

If somebody wants this bike whole this is the last chance before I tear her down and sell it in pieces. It need tires, fork seals, exhaust leaks from bottom and the seat has a seam that has come apart in the front. There is also a piece of the front faring missing about two inches around. Motor runs rough. 1200.00 takes it whole or it's comming apart next week and hitting ebay.

Who took the chance to go out for a ride today (Christmas Day)? Needed to go to Grandmas, of course "over the river (creek) and through the woods (several tree stands). Was about 45f when we left at 2:30 this afternoon, son rode in with me. Beautifull!!!! When we left at 8 tonite, the daughter rode with me. I believe when we got back home it was close to 32f outside. Still glad I haven't started to tear her down yet!!! Gonna have to get going, tho. Still couldn't pass up a chance for a ride!!!!! Dan
