  8. okay folks we got the go ahead for having vendors at the hub at the 2009 rally. here's the details. we are going to have an area for people on this website that have products they make, or are dealers for that they would like to sell, (not used parts), including some non motorcycle stuff like jewelry and things for the ladies. we will have outside vendors there to promote and sell their products,( motorcycle related only). danob11 is on our committee and in charge of vendors and roadkill is also working on vendors. if any member has something to contribute as far as vendors, please pm either one of them with ideas. the vendor area will be inside the meeting hall and will be air conditioned and very nice with lots of room. we also have plenty of ajacient room out side for trailer vendors. the only vendor fee will be the basic meet registration fee which we are still working on. i am trying to get an air brush and pinstripe artist and possibly a tattoo artist there. bill
  9. he sure is cute.:rotf::rotfl::rotf:
  10. jay you offended no one, accept for me, you did'nt give me enough crap while you were there. i always tell everyone your the fly i can't swat. i still consider you to be one of my good friends. as far as the rides go. alot of people did there own thing. thats what it's all about. i like your harley buddy, and tell him i love his tattoos. sorry to hear about your friend wish you would have said something. i need someone to ride to st. jude with if your game. if it rains i am going to cage it and bring linda. let me know if you want to ride down there. bill
  11. paypal is easy to use. if you don't have a paypal account just go to paypal and register. the premier account is the best way to go. it does'nt cost anything to register and it sure is handy to have. you can send money to anyone by automatic transfer from your checking or savings account or you can have a paypal balance if you sell stuff on ebay like i often do. it is 100% secure and the transfer takes about 2 seconds. it makes it easy to buy most anything on ebay or the net. paypal will walk you through what ever you want to do. if i can use it anyone can. bill
  12. squidley only has $1200.00 dollars to go to meet his goal, lets all see if we can surprise him and beat that goal. give us an address brad, for those who don't have paypal. i know with all the great members we have out there we can do it. :clap2::clap2:
  13. they say you become wiser with age your almost there. the final step to wisdom is the half an accord. :rotf::rotfl: enjoy the new ride. bill :clap2:
  14. glad to here this great news. linda and i are rooting, and praying for his full recovery. bill :clap2:
  15. i missed la and laura this morning when we left eureka springs. they were still in there room. i know laura had stayed up all night watching the weather, cuz she was worried about her mother in texas. she is a great lady with a cool sense of humor. i hope every thing is okay for them in texas. laura said her son was looking after things at home. i'm sure we should here from them soon.
  16. linda and i got home about 2 hours ago, no rain at all. we had a great bunch of people. first i want to thank everyone that came, for making my day, and just being there. special thanks to my good buddy, buddy, accommodation coordinator, colesgrampa, vgoose, and dan morris for the great rides that they put together. also want to thank everyone who donated prizes for the drawings. congradulations to all those who won them. most touching winner was dooder 1 who won the $200.00 gift certificate from diamondr. he is going to get one of their backrests. terri and michael heaton won the st. jude 50/50 and graciously donated their half to st. jude, so i will be sending brad $135.00 to add to the tattoo fund. this will be our last eureka springs meet, since we are going to do the 2009 international rally next year. my committee is going to bust their butts to give everyone the best rally ever, and i hope we do well for our members. i know we can't satisfy everyone but we are going to give it our best. bill
  17. okay,folks, i just got back from the 2008 eureka springs meet, and our 50/50 for st. jude total amounted to $135.00. terri and michael heaton won the drawing and donated there winnings to the tattoo fund. so i will be sending another $135.00 to brad for st. jude. i want to thank everyone who donated to a great cause at the eureka springs meet. i did'nt even have to ask they just came forward and asked for the tickets. what a great bunch of caring people. bill :clap2::clap2: ps. special thanks to terri and michael.
  18. jt, thanks for the blessing. bill
  19. scott, i'm on the wing strictly by accident. i bought it on a whim. it is just as hard to handle at low speeds as my rstd was. i replaced my rstd with a v-star 1300. i love it. it does everything perfect accept for one thing it ain't no touring bike. the vtwin just don't cut the mustard. really can't see anything new about the harley for the exorbanant price. the overall design is archaic by todays standards. they just took a hundred year old motor and keep changing it with upgrades. it's still the same old single crankpin male and female rod, v-twin, aircooled push rod engine thats been around from day one. they are nice looking bikes but from an engineering stand point are ancient technology. i don't see anything ancient about a venture accept for the cassett player. the motor is still a high tech design, and up with the times. even the carbs aren't a bad asset they work fine, i can work on them and tune them with everyday tools, i never had an issue with them. i'm not against people riding harleys but facts are facts. there is no comparison between a harley v-twin and the yammer engine when it comes to technology. bill
  20. glad cindys home, hope you all make it to eureka springs. :clap2:
  21. well i'm all packed, and the bus leaves at 5 am tuesday morning. can't wait should be at the edelweiss about noon. see you all there. bill
  22. darn jt, you talkin about me again. bill :rotf::rotfl:
  23. i must say injection is nice, i have four bikes with it. other than having to choke it, i had no problem with the carbs. forget you have a cassette and get a sirius radio. it's the only way to go. cd players are a pain in the rump. thats the fun of having a bike. customizing it to suit you. never had a bike that was perfect. so i just took it on myself to make it perfect for me. bill
  24. come on folks, you have one of the nicest touring bikes ever made. harley has been trying to get it right for over a hundred years and still hasn't got anything to compete with the venture. like 4 cyl., watercooled, 4 valve, overhead cam, shaft drive, and on and on. i was perfectly satisfied with my rstd. would still have it if my legs would handle it. there's talk of a new 2000 cc wing with 6 speeds in 2010. neither improvement or restyle is needed. i could go with fuel injection on the venture other than that it is one fine machine. be satisfied with what you have you could be riding that hardley. your venture is one of the best looking bikes on the road. look at the diehard 1rst genners, they obviously know they have a good thing and appreciate it. bill :clap2:
  25. dale, sorry you can't make it to the meet, just work on getting cindy home. see you next year. bill
