  3. cindy you are on the ball, thanks for getting that info together.
  4. ya know, i was just wondering how people on this site that i would stand behind anyday of the week can belittle some one whether union or non union that works hard to eke out a living for theirself and there family. i am by no means poor but i don't think i am better and deserve more than anyone else that does an honest days work for an honest days pay. i don't support derelects that use the system but i do support anyone who works hard , be it rich or poor, educated or not so educated. unions started back when henry ford sent his goons out to beat up workers that protested very poor working conditions. there was a time when the assembly line would break down and you had to sit with no pay untill they got it running again to finish your 8 hrs. and you could'nt go home until you worked your 8 hrs. financially i'm in pretty good shape. but ya know when the trashman comes by to pick up my trash i always wave at him and say hi. cuz i just don't think i'm any better than he is. he works his butt off and probably does'nt get much in the way of thanks. but he deserves as much respect as anyone else that works hard, be it a doctor, lawyer or department head, cuz he in my opinion is just as good as they are. what i guess i'm trying to say is, think twice before you tear into good people that are just trying to make there way in life. they have just as much right to make a decent living as anyone else.
  5. rick i put it on my notes list. i have to call the hub so i will ask them and try to check your request out. thats a good question. bill
  6. i've been trying to make it every year, just can't get clear. think it's going to finally happen. bill
  7. i figured that pain was normal,i blame it on old age,and just keep on truckin.
  8. thank you swifty, don't think you'll get an answer to that one. some people talk with a paper $$s. bill
  9. think we are getting there on the 09 rally. we are going to have vendors, probably some biker type games, lots of planned and random rides. good food, a final dinner, comeraderie, raffles, and what the heck else am i forgetting? i need help from the members. give me some ideas on things that we can do to make this the best meet ever. i am open to all suggestions. it's your meet and we (the meet committee), want every one to have a great time, and go home with lots of good memories. don't hold back we will take all ideas into consideration. if any of our members have something bike related they would like to have in the vendor area. contact danob11. he is the vendor guy and would be glad to work with you. if any one in the area, or that knows the area wants to put together and lead a ride contact me or colesgrandpa. he is my ride coordinator. i am personally going lead a ride to eureka springs for an on the town shopping spree for the gals, my wife is a pro shopper. lol. we still need some one to volunteer to put together a video on a dvd of the pic's and videos of the meet that the members have taken. so the members can enjoy the good memories. if it seems like i am shoving this meet down your throat, it's not meant to be that way. black owl told me don't let the members forget, and i really believe in what he said. so give me some ideas on what you folks think might make tis the ultimate meet. this ones for you. snarley bill :clap2:
  10. it is cool. you no no one would ruin a second gen like that. the guy has to much free time.
  11. thanks gerald, reservations are made. see you all there. bill
  12. okay, don't keep it a secret. what is the no. of the oberlin inn so i can make my reservations.
  13. was just sitting here thinking ,in my thirty years at ford averaging about 65 hr.s a week i probably made about $950,000 before taxes, thats figuring a little over $30,000 a year average . all the while contributing something worthwhile to society such as lots of motor vehicals, so people could get along in their everyday routine. now the st.louis rams have a quarter back that has a 65,000,000 dollar contract, and his greatest claim to fame in 4 years is he can throw a football, and not very well at that. i feel like me and all the auto workers got the royal shaft all these years at that rate. how can some one honestly blame me and all the other people who work hard for a living all their life for running the auto industry into bankruptcy. let me tell you a little about an assembly line. you have to have the forman get a relief man so you can go to the rest room. some times that takes a half hour or more. if you take off sick, you have to have a doctors slip before you come back to work. work started when the bell rang and you worked till the bell rang to quit. if you faltered or had a problem with a job. you went in the hole on your job and had to bust your butt sometimes for hours working your way out. no airconditioning ever. no heat clause. i worked the line when it was 110 degrees or more in the plant. all over time was mandatory when i worked there. worked many mandatory 84 hr weeks. displinary action was tough. if you looked the wrong way you went to the office and was docked for time off the job or sent home. if you worked your job a little ahead they time studied you and added work. the assembly line at an auto manufacturer is the most efficient type of production in the world next to robots, and i worked next to robots. i lived across the street from a guy who told me i was overpaid and the reason cars cost so much. he could'nt carry my boots to the crap house. he was a plumber and made about $10.00 more an hour than i did. if i did make $77.00 an hour is would'nt have been enough compared to some of the dead weights in higher up places that are way over paid. every one has benefits union or not one of my best freinds makes $450.000 a year plus company car, a big contract buy out if they want to get rid of him. and benefits that make mine look like nothing, and he ain't got enough common sense to come in out of the rain. i say more power to him cuz he is doing what he was hired to do and he does it well. why is it always the auto worker that gets the benefits throwed in their face. like everyone elses benefits are free to other companies. think about it. and figure what your benefits cost a year. thats my last 2 cents on this post. snarley bill
  14. carl ,i am proud that you are a canadian and part of this forum. and i am proud to be an american even though we have people trying to tear our country apart. i just hope we still have enough real americans left to save my country. kudo's to you, and i really mean that. bill :clap2:
  15. can't believe all the people that thanked me for my service, on veterans day. never had that happen before. even though i did'nt do anything heroic. it sure felt good. i want to thank all the people who suffered and died so i can have the freedom i have. they are truly my hero's, and have or surley will find their place in heaven. love all you veterans. snarley bill :clap2:
  16. can't believe this wing is not gone yet. what a bargain. buy the wing, sell the trailer if you don't want it, and your money ahead. i've rode with jamie and seen this bike. the cb alone is a $700.00 value. bill
  17. i don't agree with any of the bailouts. we are just buying a little time and digging a gargantuan hole to fall into. they had to be, just to buy a little time, and that is all they will provide, a little more time. the crooks will still be crooked, islam is still out to take us out, inflation will go on. and the usa will have to keep borrowing money form the chinese, japanese, and the arabs for more bailouts. nothings sacred anymore we have foreigners buying up our race horses, beating us at the indy 500, and nascar. they are buying our companies. the chinese tried to buy our oil companies and believe me they will pay the right people off eventually and succeed. the bailout is way to little and to stupid a move to late, and it is going to cost us all big time in the not to far future.
  18. one other thing i forgot to mention, my good buddy lewis, aka. dragonrider, is putting on vogel again this year. if you have the time you can swing down to georgia and get the rest of the greatest riding in the country. i plan on doing vogel after the 09 rally. been there twice and it is a top of the line and big meet. looking forward to it again this year unless my scoots get repo'd. could happen i guess. lol.
  19. mike, in the auto industry you can get fired very easily. you have to go through a few stages of disiplinary action but ultmately you get fired. seen lots of folks get fired. they usually weed out the bad ones before they get their 90 days in. the only problem i had with the union was they traded grievances to get people back that were fired. like any type of work there are always going to be derelects that figure out how to cheat the system. thats just human nature. i still say it's the american people as a whole that have gotten us into this mess including me. i have learned to take responsibility for my own actions where as most people haven't and want to blame someone else. not trying to be pesimistic. but i have been around long enough and am smart enough to see there's no fix for this mess cuz the rest of the world owns us. the more money we borrow the bigger chunk the chinese and other countries take out of this country. i would call it the real cold war, and the sneaky $$$tards are taking us down while we're sleeping. bill
  20. pretty much says it all on the power of a wing.
  21. i'm not sticking up for unions, they have lots of faults, i'm just standing by what i know i did. by the way , my pension is $1200.00 a month, and i have to pay monthly for part of my insurance. so i am not getting rich off my pension. all these figures they put out are rediculous. in that case anyone that gets benefits makes what i did or more cuz even non union people get big benefits. bill
  22. we will be working on that. colesgrandpa is my ride coordinator. and i will get with him. i hope to have ride leaders to head out various rides, with a bike count limit. to many bikes on each ride gets to be a hassle. when it gets closer i will ask for volunteers to lead rides. i am going to try to cover all the bases. sure glad we got an early start on putting this meet together. it is quite complicated, and i am having a ball doing it. bill
  23. darn i never figured i made that much as an auto worker. i worked my ass off as an auto worker for thirty years, can't hardly walk, backs shot, worked 12 hrs a day 7 days a week out side , no weather clause most of the years i was there. the rest of the time i was layed off due to recessions, ain't much left of this old fart physically, i hurt from head to foot 24 ,seven. i earned my money and i earned this great retirement. no one ever gave me nothin and i never asked for nothin. i worked alot harder than fat butt ted kennedy ever did in his life and most of the people like him. i deserved what i earned.and i don't owe no one any apologies for what i got. i ain't lazy and i will take on any task. sorry i just had to air that out. get tired of people telling me it's my fault the economies screwed up. snarley bill
  24. come on folks, give me some help on this post. anyone that has been in or lives in the area of the 09 rally fill in some of the things i have missed in the tourist and riding area. just wanted to add something i forgot. at the event we are going to have vendors, lots of comeraderie, lots of riding, possibly rider skill games, several raffles including a bushtech trailer , a 50/50 for st. jude, and a custom designed and hand made beltbuckle commemerating this meet, a catered final meal with prime rib and all the fixins. we will help groups put rides together. we won't have planned rides for the group as a whole cuz we are expecting a very large turnout, and that just would'nt be feasable. we will have small groups taking off everyday on really neat rides to different areas. we will have some other surprise things going that i haven't thought up yet. how about a dunking tank so all the folks that don't like me can get their evens. NOT going to happen. . this is going to be the meet of all meets if i have anything to say about it ,and i do. so please chime in on this post to help people make their decision to be there. :clap2: bill
  25. i new you would say that.
