blairsville, georgia to st. louis with allanh 625 miles. could have done 1000 miles. but they would have had to peel me off the scoot.

transmission fluid is about 10 w. i used it for years in my forks and it worked fine. i now use belray 10w because it contains an anti friction additive ( probably molydenum disulfide) that stops stickion or slider drag. it also also contains seal softener and will make the fork bushings last longer. bill. ps. it will probably make the ride a little smoother due to less slider drag. it could cause your clutch to slip

not on less she can scam them out of another free one. :rotf:

this year we are going up through illinois and crossing the river to hannibal and coming back on 79. it will be a 247 mile scenic ride. we will be in hannibal for an hour or so to look around and get a snack. we will then comeback 79 to get some of allanh's favorite pizza. thin crust the real pizza. :clap2::rotf: allan, .

i have sold alot of bikes. no test rides allowed unless i know them. i start it up, ride it up and down the street for them, if they want, and am totally honest with them if it has anything wrong. they can take it or leave it. never had anyone leave without a bike. don't let anyone you don't know ride your bike, unless they ride up on one worth more than yours and leave it. they may have never been on a bike before. if they want it they will accept your terms. bill

me and one of my best machinist buddies are going to greenwood arkansas tomorrow morning for the arkansas state cushman meet at the fairgrounds in greenwood. we should be there about noon if anyone in the area wants to come over and visit. we are going to show off the 4 speed 1958 eagle that i custom built for him. so if you want to ride a very fast cushman come on over. it's the prototype for the transmission and primary drive that we designed and built. he already has a waiting list for them. there will be lots of custom and restored cushmans there to see and a great bunch of people. i think we will have the cushman here at my st. charles meet along with my very good buddy. we will be there till noon saturday and then head home. i'm starting to feel like la pryor, never at home anymore. a dream come true. just a little rougher at my age. hope to see a venturerider there. i will have the red goldwing ball cap on. bill

just wanted to remind you all that are attending my meet next month, that ameristar casino is about a half mile from the host motel and harrahs is about 2 miles. so if you get restless and like to gamble they will accomodate you. last time cinderella and dale were here, dale won $600.00. hear that b2dad? we also have historic main street close to the motels. and as an added extra you will get to meet allanh ( wrongway). just don't follow him down any dead end streets. :rotf:

don, makes total sense to me. still a bargain at $12.00 per year. i say set a date to bill people and leave the donation button for those of us who feel like we are getting more than our moneys worth. still think you work way to cheap. i remember the great site crash of 2006 when we had like 3600 members and everything was wiped out. we all thought the world had ended. i know i was lost with out venture riders for a day or two. then you worked your butt off to get it all back together for us and we started all over. now we have topped 7000 members. people probably wonder why everyone joined in aug. 2006. i for one always think about what a task it must be to keep this site running as smooth as it does. kudo's to you for all the enjoyment i have gotten out of it. so if you wanted to charge twenty dollars or more a year it would'nt bother me one bit. still a bargain my freind. thanks for just being here for all of us. bill :clap2: now back to the thread. folks lets don't argue and cut each other down. thats not what this is all about.

i did'nt mean for this thread to turn into a pissing contest. as redneck said every one has a right to an opinion. thats why this site is so neat. i belong to alot of other sites also, but none comes as close to this one as being a tightly knit family. i'm sure don will come up with a fair viable plan, and since he did start and owns the site what he decides should be gospel. you won't find a more fair and square thinking person in the world than don. people who just joined may think they are outsiders and not part of the group. i have been to lots of meets and have put on lots of meets, and i have never seen anyone treated as an outsider. don't let this thread go down hill. this is our site and dons the boss. what ever don decides i don't think the site will ever go south. bill

just received dons email about the $12.00 dollar a year fee for the site. what a bargain. i always assumed everyone donated to the site on a regular basis as i do. apparently not. don has done alot for all of us members. think of all the fun we have had, and new friends we have made, not to mention all the advice and info we can get 24 hours a day. now don needs our help and i guess what i'm saying is for all those that would like to, dig down and give him a hand. i know there are lots of members that donate, but for those that don't this is a good time to dig down and do it. i'm kind of going over dons head with this post but i figure it is time to give back something to help a really good person that has done alot for us. bill

come on folks, help gunboat and sarah out. i've never done the bike games but i would be willing to try. i saw a gal on a harley one time doing the slow ride, she was about to blow the motor up and frying the clutch. it made me cringe. anyway, gunboat volunteered to set up some games for everyone old and young so if you have any ideas throw them at him. bill

well i mapped out the rides for the st. charles meet in may and they are going to be awesome. i road the friday ride to hannibal last saturday, it is 238 mile and covers some beautiful country in illinois and missouri. the friday ride to herman mo. will pass many historic sights and more beautiful country and lots of twisties. it will be 147 miles. i garantee these will be really nice rides. i want to really do it up right this year cuz it will probably be my last meet here. so i hope to see lots of people. this will be a meet to remember. sure wish i could get lewis, eck, and some of the georgia people up here to repay them for their great hospitality.
