So, what's the Facts at the Moment ? Please put the Cover back on the Airbox before any further tinkering. The Engine won't run or probably won't start at all without the Cover in Place. The Intake System is a Piece of Art on it's own and the Motor is VERY sensitive in this Matter.

Mike, i said this in a Thread we discussed that Matter and i dare to say it again. The Oil Price is too much speculating with big Money. Them Big Cash Boys pumped the Price up and now they are bashing the Oil Price. 5 Months ago i said, imho a fair and real Price regarding Production and Demands of the Market would be 70 to 75 USD, now when seeing the Downfall of most Economies worldwide and with regards to relative high Level of Oil Storage, a fair Price would be around 60 to 65 USD. We see the Price a lot lower than that and it's a Sort of Short Selling again. I don't know if you're right on the Oil Company are laying off their People, but if so, they are wrong in doing so. They will need all they can Produce in a not so far away Future, because the Price will rise again. Why ?? Because this low Price will held up just long enough to kill a Lot of Efforts to bring the People and the Economy away from tomorrows Technology and tomorrows low Consumption Car and other(alternative) Vehicles. That's my Story and i'm sticking to it. We need the Oil now, and there are a Lot Guys working on keeping our Demands in their Product up. What's the Loss of some Money within one Year when you keep competitive Technology away for another 3 or 5 Years ? I think Eddy is right, in Regards to the Big Oil and lets see the Facts, the Downfall of the big three Motor Company is not only a wrong Product Development or producing the wrong Cars. It's also the "Ignorance" of the American People, not buying small and less consumption-able Car. VW has had a Car called "3 Liter Lupo" a bit bigger than a Smart Car and with very reasonable Consumption. We here in Germany have the highest Price on Fuel in the whole World because of our Tax System but guess what, VW stopped the Production because NOBODY wanted to buy that Car. It was expensive and with a Lot Points on the Down Side, nobody would buy that only because it was cheap on Gas. The Smart Car is on the Market for about 12 or 15 Years now, why didn't they bring it to US a Lot earlier than this Year ? Simple Reason is ... who would have bought it ?? Even here in Europe they had a Lot of Problems and seen purely economical, they have should been out of Business at least two Times. Mercedes bailed them out twice with big Money. A Company can only sell what the Market(the Buyers) wants and demand, not what their Strategic Planning says it will sell. IMHO, the biggest Problem is that obviously all Motor Companies all over the World thought they would sell 10 Percent more new Cars each and every Year. Well, that Thought didn't work out as we can see now. We as Society have to readjust ourselves and even while the Oil Price is being down now, we have to accept that won't stay there. The Price will rise again and we all should be prepared for this. At least this Time we can't say we never would expect this.

Room under the Tank ..... well, i smell a 'Rat' there  Seriously, i'm happy if you're happy. Coil on Plug is not a new Invention, Ford had it, several Bike had it since Years. But i agree, with your desperate Seek for Room this might be the Way to go. But don't expect too much out of that Mod. The Spark will be somewhat crispier, and this helps burning down the Fuel more efficient, but Wonders are very seldom nowadays. -
That's just lucky, nothing to feel good about !! !! I never was caught on the Bike, and i consider myself VERY lucky for that.
-
Now that you mention it, i've heard that also !! :scratchchin::whistling: But i'm willing to believe she actually blames him for getting caught, not for getting a miserable Ticket. Because ..... there could be some Sort of Revenge later Days.

Carb bowl gaskets
Squeeze replied to Gearhead's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I had a small Leak on one out of 50 Carb Bowls i maintained. Not bad at all. I used little Sealant and that Leak was cured. I had to replace 2 Seals due to cracking, but that Carb Set was in really bad Shape, worst Thing i've ever seen. Every other Rubber Part was shot on this Set. The Material should be Perbunan. -
Dang, i'm too slow in typing ...

That Snap Ring is holding the Hub on the Wheel and you should take the Hub off and grease the six Fingers of the Hub before mounting the Wheel. Grease should also be appplied on both Ends of the Drive Shaft and the Splines between Wheel Hub and final Drive. Honda Moly 60 is the recently prefered Grease to use.

Sorry, but No, not that i know of. -
I'd say technically, you can't even be charged with Theft by the Neighbor. Because the Duck left a Donation at your Property. :thumbsup2: Of, Course, once you're out of the Dog Hause, Mamamo could file Charges against you for Theft, because it was her Flower Bed and you should have divided the Donation !! !! Seems you will have to have another Week in the Dog's House. :bluesbrother:

I never cross checked this Parts, i mean Gaskets and such, but on the other Carb-Parts, Jets, Needles, Floater and Floater Valves are about 25 Percent cheaper than buying Yamaha Parts. But it's Germany, Yammi has a very good Margin on the Parts Prices, compared to US. Even with a discount i get from my local Dealer, US is still a Lot cheaper. The Range is from 15 to 45 Percent, depending on the Part. Some are very expensive compared, at some there's not so much Difference. I never found out why this is so. My Dealer is still crying about some Prices they offer in U.S. Mikuni, or better said their Rep. isn't supporting them Yammi Carbs at. Officially. But when you call them and say, hey i need that Idle Mixture Screw for the Vmax and the Spring and the O-Ring and this and that, i allways got the right Parts delivered. I have the Parts in need on the next Day, they draw the Money from Bank Account and i'm happy. Yammi Parts take 3 Days at least. -
