get some anti-squeal brake lube and put it between the pads and the caliper ... that is most likely what is causing it. The stuff comes in a small tube. Apply it to the points that rub together between the pad and the caliper.

Crap!!!... now I'LL be looking to see if mine points to the right!

get him to throw them in and then sell the fishtails...you might want the w/s

Really sounds to me like the forks are twisted somehow. Without re-reading all your info, is the top triple on the right further off than the bottom on the right (or left). Thinking it thru if the top is off less than the bottom (right side) then the forks are twisted (not necessarilly bent)and that would explain everything you see (bars, fairing, etc) to appear to point to the right (I think...)

IMHO there is no comparison to the others you've had. You'll LOVE this bike WAY BETTER! (I tried to come up with some real good constructive feedback...that's the best I can do) But, if at all possible, you should RIDE before you BUY

I know this has no bearing on what you're describing (maybe it might) but... for a long time I thought my bike was pulling to the left. I could feel it in the handlebars and when I took my hands off, it would veer to the left. Dealer said nothing wrong.... another member suggested I was sitting off-centre and my weight was causing it.... well at first I chuckled at that but then I tried adjusting my position... like no more than an inch and voila` ... no more pull to the left. I was amazed that this would make so much of a difference....it's probably due to the way the bike's centre of gravity and top heaviness is...I'd never experienced that on other bikes.

Trimmed my windshield and well, it melted...

I used a file to smooth mine .... had several comments that it looks "factory". -

Look at it this way... you've just become a magician ... you can cut a windshield without cutting it LOL -
Have you had this bike since new? If not, has it been in a collision that might have caused the forks to be bent? (just a thought)

Probably the switch at the kickstand needs to be cleaned up.???

I stand corrected... the blade wasn't as small as I thought ... but it is a "fine cut" blade. -

I'd say you run the saw too high speed and moved too slow. Not sure what kind of blade you used but mine was a very small blade with lots of teeth for very fine cutting. Been a while since I did mine but I'm pretty sure I ran it about 1/2 speed and I moved the saw forward as quick as I could. Never had any of the "melting" issues you mention. Main thing is tho...that you "got 'er done". -
do you have the box that your computer came in?? .......

Been a long time since I messed with a water heater but... seems to me they have a thermostat don't they? Maybe it's faulty?

iPhone video on my bike, chirping or whine?
SilvrT replied to FutureVentures's topic in Watering Hole
This gives me an idea.... maybe everyone who has the appropriate technology should make a vid or do a sound recording at least (without the tunes playin) so that we can all hear what everybody else's "whine" sounds like. The one on your bike doesn't seem all that bad at all. -

Grounding Passing Lamps
SilvrT replied to LilBeaver's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Why not just run a good sized (say 16 or 14 gauge) wire from the battery negative post to a "block" inside the fairing that has a threaded post on it. Then, all things you add that need grounding can be connected to that. -
Just a thought comes to mind... a person's overall height is not necessarilly an accurate "gauge" but rather, their torso height... the height from the bottom of their butt to the top of their head when sitting would be a better comparative method because many folks of the same height will have differing leg and torso lengths and that's what is more applicable for this purpose.

Grounding Passing Lamps
SilvrT replied to LilBeaver's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
wwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy over my head! I also used the tube frame inside the fairing for a grounding point for my little "running" lights as well as my gauges and I'll use that same ground for anything else I hookup on the front. -

Could you not ask the folks at Showchrome which method they use for that measurement? As for myself, I cut my own down. Basically, I sat on the seat as tho I was riding and fixated at a point on the w/s where I figgured I wanted it and marked a dot. I then made a template from a filefolder to get the angles. Dropped that down to the dot I marked and drew a line from the template. (a bit more involved than just that but...follow that video) The trick was to not cut it too low the first time...then, if it's still too high, ya can do it over.
