If you have never tried Celebrex..try it ! It is the wonder drug for me...non-narcotic ( 1st Genners don't need the heavy duty stuff) anti-inflammatory. If the pain is heavy you can take Tramadol with it. But try the Celebrex ! It makes me able to

Hey...where is the best place to get a 2nd key copy for my bike ? Does a key blank for a Venture have to be obtained at a dealer or can a locksmith just make one ? I Know on my old K1200LT I had to buy from dealer and find a special locksmith to copy.

rode the Venture to a bonfire BBQ tonight.. I really do love this bike. Getting ready to say goodbye to my daughter and grand daughter as they head back to NC tomorrow morning.. Guess the Venture will have to be my baby for a while...

You can PM FlyinFool and ask him. He's probably in your back yard looking in your bedroom window already, but you can ask. I think one of the things I have heard about clutch slippage has to do with the type of oil you use. I am still sorting that one out as to which type to use in these things.

Hang in there YD...I have decided to exercise vicariously through you. I feel better already...although I was eating a piece of Pumpkin Pie and almost felt guilty as I scooped the whipped cream off the bottom of the plate. But, then I remembered that I was vicariously at the gym....made it all better...

You know it wouldn't hurt to list it on Craig's List in the Texas/New Mexico ( El Paso and Las Cruces had zero listed last night) and even Arizona area's. There are not a lot of them for sale and since the riding season is longer (basically year round) I know people who have flown or driven back east to pick up bikes. Bikes from the east, if taken care of and stored through the winter have a good reputation out here since they usually have lower mileage and are maintained during the winter. I was looking back east at bikes myself before I found mine outside of Phoenix. A friend was over last night and was looking all over, including back east at Ventures for sale. Just a thought... Bill

I had a K1200LT. It was very nice on the freeway, but very top heavy in town and felt top heavy in tight twisty mountain roads. On my first out of town ride on my 89 it was on mountain type twisty roads that I had ridden the K1200LT on. I found the 89 to be lighter and more comfortable in the turns. I also find the Venture to be more comfortable around town. As a side note, I jumped on the KLR650 to run an errand the other day and it felt like a feather. At 200 lbs lighter, it was a breeze to handle. One last note on the K1200LT. I did enjoy all the bells and whistles that it had, but it was a very expensive bike to maintain. Just changing the oil was a PITA .

Had a friend stop by tonight to see my lil Grand Princess before she leaves Saturday morning. He rides a Vulcan. Checked out my 1st Gen and spent the rest o the time on my laptop searching Craigslist and around for a nice 1st Gen. He almost was interested in a 2nd Gen because of the "had to eat lots of ice cream" stuff, until he realized that the 2nd Gens were so much slower, and not as nice looking....

Flyinfool appears to be setting up some type of class action lawsuit over the one question deal. Guess he is trying to get some type of ice cream settlement for him and Big Tom...

figured I'd do it before somebody else did.....

I just received (today) my rare and antique steering nut tool from you and paid via PayPal. Glad things went smooth and I don't have to play the darn thing...

Can you buy tickets via PayPal ?

My "crotch rocket " loving son finally rode the beast yesterday. Said I couldn't post the picture on FaceBook. Didn't say I couldn't post it here..

Congratulations. Now go out and get a 1st Gen so you can really enjoy life.

I just received my progressives in the mail Tuesday from Skydoc_17. Trying to get the nerve up now to start the tear down and address the long list of maintenance and repair items so it can be put back together and ridden. We have been having 75+ degree weather here, so I hate the thought of tearing it apart when everybody is out riding.

Thanks for the valuable insight. Appreciate it.

In following your lead, and still in the infant stages, I have initiated a similar walk. We have a homeless guy in our church. I would say hi to him in the past, but never really talked to him. Sunday while thinking of your story, I walked up to him early on and had a short conversation with him. I then went and got my 4 month old granddaughter and walked over and sat down next to him and "introduced them to each other" He said she was pretty..she said something like "Hmfmfgdromfm". I then returned her to my daughter. As I walked back by I noticed he was crying. I grabbed a few napkins and sat back down next to him and asked if everything was OK. Didn't get an answer, but he wiped the tears away. I sat next to him during the whole service and found out he knows a lot about guitars ( I know nothing !). I walked him out after church and shook his hand telling him I would see him next time. It takes awhile to earn somebody's trust enough to learn "their story". I hope to learn Randy's story and maybe help him get back to family. Thanks for the inspiration. Bill
