1. http://www.cruise-eta.com/ Here is the link to the ETA website. I believe they are the only ones that can get your bike on the islands.
2. And they don't get seasick like some of the other bikes that were throwing up oil on the ship. Maybe because it's the Yamaha's second time on an ocean voyage.
3. Driving on the wrong side of the road was a little odd. Got used to it after a few miles. It was an awesome adventure. We rode on Bermuda, Puerto Rico and St. Maarten.
4. That's me, the only Venture on the island. Pinky and I went there with our bikes!!
5. Once again, you come thru for someone in need.
6. Sound like the rear drive pins are dry. Does it make a clicking noise when you push it or back up? If so, try this link. It will help you with the noise. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/sh...ad.php?t=13263
7. Brenda, aka Pinkie, and I will be there most of the day on Sat. Maybe we'll see you there.
8. Looks good to me too. What's the next target?
9. This can't be that difficult to find.
10. Yep, I agree, so if no one has a problem with me changing the target. How about: A pic of You, your bike and a beverage delivery truck. Could be soda, beer or water. like this one.
11. HD parts that where along the side of the road to....
12. Just updated the pic. hope it works now. As for changing the target, how about giving it a few days. I have been following this game from the beginning, some targets are harder than others. This target was the idea of a PA State Trooper that struck up a conversation with me while fueling up. He thanked us for not stealing the targets like most scavanger hunters. I know there are a few State LEO's on this forum, use your imagination. This may not be as do-able (pun intended) as the "Hooter's girls on your bike" target early on in this game, but give it a chance and if it takes too long, then I'll think of something else.
13. Hope this will do. If so, Your next target will be a picture of You and your bike with a State Trooper sitting on it.
14. You kept it upright and are still able to tell us about it......I think you did the right thing.
15. Me too. '09 Iron 883 for short trips. (very short trips)
16. I believe that's an indication to not let go of the bars.
17. Depending on the other driver's policy limits, she may be underinsured, ask your dealer how much the value has diminished now that the car's VIN# check will show a loss. Go to her insurance company with this figure. They are not going to want to pay it, so you may have to fight for it. It is a new car and insurance is to return it to pre loss condition and they owe you for any loss caused by their insured. Don't forget to get a rental as soon as you can using the claim# from her insurance co. If the car is pulling, then it is considered non driveable ( here in PA anyway) and you are entitled to a rental from her co. With her insurance paying daily for a rental, the whole repair process will move a lot quicker. You can always check with your states insurance commission for real answers, the insurance companies claims adjusters are going to tell you what they are trained to say. I don't know your states insurance laws, but fight to get what you can. In our business, if you don't ask for payment, you won't get it. It is very unlikely to be a total loss, in most cases the damage must exceed 80% of the NADA value. Well I have to go to work now and tell a dozen or so drivers the same thing.
18. She needs to file a claim with her insurance co. They will call you, just remember the magic phrase. " My vehicle was parked, with no key in the ignition". This will stop them from trying to use "contributory negligence" in an effort to have you pay half the damages. If she doesn't file a claim, file with yours. You will have to pay your deductible but you will get it back, eventually. Any cameras at the pumps will help, even it you're not sure there were cameras, mention the posibility to her insurance company. Please, anytime you have even a minor fender bender, sorry, get an incident report from the police. They may not want to come out, but it really is an important piece of paper when proving a loss.
19. Brenda and I have helped convert a few OH-58 and HUEYs into crop dusters then painted them in civilian colors. Miss those days.
20. Being in the autobody trade, I have had a lot of vendors pitch their penetrating oils to me. Deep Creep is a keeper. We have an old Blackhawk floor jack with the oil holes in the wheels, not zerk fittings (yeah, it's that old). We always kept it oiled but it still was a pain to drag around. Shot some Deep Creep in the wheels and stuck it out in the parking lot. Brenda asked me what that sound was.....It was the floor jack rolling across our parking lot and headed for the highway. Could not believe it worked that well.
21. If you're staying the night in Dubois, give Brenda (Pinkie) and me a call. We go to the Hitching Post on Liberty Blvd ( RT 219 ) every Monday night for wings. Would love to see ya. Or......we could build a fire and sit around and BS at our house.
