Oil leak leads to request for shim kit
ragtop69gs replied to Bill in NJ's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I do need to check the valve clearance but I am a bit hesitant to undertake this job by myself. I really would like experienced eyes following along the first time. I may wait till Don's MD if I can find a willing coach to help with the job. I have the FSM . The bike has 46000 miles on it and I don't know if it's ever been done. -
Oil leak leads to request for shim kit

Ok Dan I'll Bite, how do you stop the leak without pulling the covers? I have a small leak on the left rear gasket. -
My first words to her when she told me were " How can you ride a bike if you can't see the obvious? " She's parked her bike there a hundred times but was in a rush this time I bet it doesn't happen again. $55 spent unnecessarily is a good teacher.

This couldn't come at a better time. My shield has far exceeded it's useful life it's just been hard for me to let it go because of the etching on it I like so much, but alas, it's time has come I can hardly see at night now because of the glare of on-coming traffic. I ride somewhere between 10-20 thousand miles a year. Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring doesn't matter as long as there's no chance of ice. I'd love to be able to give my impressions of your Windshield. I'll just hang here on the edge of my seat waiting to see who the lucky rider will be. A BIG to F4 Customs for offering this opportunity to one of our members.

The bike is a 2005 Suzuki GS500F. She needs the left mirror.

Can't sleeve it because it cracked the eye at the base where the pinch bolt goes through. Must be Aluminium or my magnet is broken. This here is the best argument for not repairing it. With her luck it would fall off and she'd hit it with the back tire. I'm just gonna tell her it's toast, get a new one. Thanks

Is it possible to effectively repair a sintered metal part ? My daughter broke the mirror stem on her motorcycle (closed the garage door on it ) and a new replacement is at least $55 . She asked if I can repair it before she goes and buys a new one.

I stopped in at the Star display and asked a rep about the venture, he said meetings are next week so he had nothing to say except, he's heard rumor of a new touring bike based off the 1900 platform. We'll see

International Motorcycle Show ticket discount
ragtop69gs replied to Freebird's topic in Watering Hole
Tried that code, it said not valid. Try this one, IMSPCC Doesn't make much sense though, the code gives you $2 off but theres a $1 ticket fee so you really only save $1 -
I couldn't find the Rotary Torque applicators or reversed blink signal bulbs. I did like the Tank conversion kits though, it would make traversing these crowed streets a bit easier.

I retired 4-29-09 after 32 yrs with the same company. 18 months later I got a part time job because after all the honeydo's were done, I found myself getting bored sitting around. I love my wife dearly, but 24/7 was driving us both crazy ! She was doing this to me GO FIND SOMETHING TO DO ! It's nice knowing that I can say "I Quit" at any time, and my boss knows it too and takes it easy on me so I don't walk

According to Michelin, they will get twice the mileage of a standard tire. Pretty bold claim. We'll see.

My Father took a bad fall

Jeff, So sorry to hear this, But, DO not give up hope. Several years before my mom passed, she was admitted to the hospital, they told us she had sepsis , was brain dead and in a coma and didn't expect her to make it through the night. When we got back to the hospital the next morning she was awake and lucid!, the doctors were dumbfounded ! She recovered from this and had many good years before passing . Keep on the doctors and staff to do all they can, your involvement can make all the difference. We hope your dad snaps back from this. Best Wishes Jay & Jeannie
