  1. I understand why you wouldn't forget the canadian rockies. I did that trip on a bike once. Absolutely spectacular! Glad to hear that you had such a great time, Steve
  2. Look in the front of the right muffler. There will be a cat in there. Not a problem to drill out, just get a long, (aircraft drill bit) 12", approx, say 1/4" drill bit and drill a series of holes around the OD of the cat, then from the back, get a steel rod or pipe and punch it out, not a big deal, then drill out the baffles with a,(i think) 1 1/8" hole saw, Ya gotta do this part first. You will love it. Steve
  3. I have the stock pads in the front of my 05 RSTD and don't notice any of what you are describing. I can grab a handful of front brake, and no grabbing. They are noisy though. Plan on replacing them this winter. Must be the pads he put in. Steve
  4. ------------That all of US old farts are opinionated----- Steve
  5. I guess that my second comment on this subject is: Will my uninsured part of my insurance now go down? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO That's the part that I'm waiting for. Steve
  6. Gee, I never would have guessed---- Steve
  7. Considering that the site is basically a bunch of old farts, (me included) with some new young folks thrown in, this conversation is nothing short of amazing. Why does anyone care who is first or second? I heard this years ago, sitting in a bar one night talking with another biker. "The best bike is the bike you like"---says it all---- Nothing could make me happier than to add on one stall to the garage, move the boat over and add a couple of harleys to the two Yamahas, and the Honda. Life is good, Enjoy, Steve
  8. Where do you come up with this stuff? How about we sit around the fire, drink, laugh, and watch you eat them, then laugh some more? I'll pass too, Steve
  9. You guys gotta call me when your going out riding again. Went out myself--Took the 650 in the morning and the RSTD in the aft. Actually headed east, out your way. Steve
  10. Yes to this, Steve
  11. And that would motivate me to---------------------???????????????????? Shouldn't that wanted poster say: POND MONSTERS? Steve
  12. This is kinda like a big yawn-------------- The penalty is a whopping $10---- Steve
  13. Hey Dan, Glad to hear that you are back driving again. Steve
  14. After taking a deep breath, I'll say this: My thoughts are with Tanner. I wish him the very best! Steve
  15. Calperin, Thanks for the offer, but I have a short one, I'm looking for the stock height. Steve
  16. This is how Wisconsin deals with this issue: 2005 Wisconsin Act 466 S ECTION 15. ECTION 16. 346.37 (1) © 4. of the statutes is created to read: 346.37 (1) © 4. 18. Ok...thats two...count em TWO guys that have said 'Nice Rack' to another guy.. You guys are making me nervous:crackup::crackup::crackup::crackup: (Nice rack!) Steve
  19. Thanks for the reply. I did cut off 6", but living up north here, I want a full sized shield for the colder weather. I do know about all of the windshield manufacturers, I was hoping for someone who had one that they would let go. Anyone ever use a 7Jurock windshield? Steve
  20. ice fishing electronics like vexlars, sonars, electric augers, underwater cameras, etc. Steve
  21. If there is dew on the floor in that thing, you had better do something about getting rid of the moisture while your bike is in there. Better off not having it.---Gonna need some vents for sure. Years ago, I built an ice fishing shack just like that, only using slats for the tubing. Still have it. Good luck, Steve
  22. My windshield got damaged and need a new one. I just put an ad in the classifieds looking for a stock windshield. If you have one, please let me know. Thanks, Steve
  23. OK, if you haven't done it yet, you need to drill out the catylitic converter. It's not hard at all, just get an aircraft drill bit, say 1/4", approx 12" long and drill a series of holes (as close as you can get to each other) around the OD of the converter, then a solid bar from the other end and knock it out. Steve
  24. Man, it's hard to keep track here. What are we looking for now? Steve
  25. They do have the quick release for the 2nd gen. I just talked with them this afternoon, and the backrest for my 05 RSTD is 179 plus 65 for the quick release. I would also get the cover for the bar. Steve
