  2. That's exactly what we did. Fueled up and went for coffee before we went on the road. Then the road for the next 20 miles was stop and go traffic in Vancouver downtown. Was a tad warm with the sun and all. That was when I noticed it even more so...but I didn't smell gas.
  3. It was full. I shoulda got off the bike and stuck my finger in it...but I never. I hope that was the problem!
  4. And it has me concerned. We went out for a day trip to Whistler, BC. Nice place if you've ever get the chance. Making a couple stops I noticed a wet spot after backing out of a parking spot. Not a little amount of clear liquid. I didn't examine it any more than to look at it from the back of the machine. But it looked like water. Kinda like when an air conditioner leaks under a car on hot days. It seems to have stopped now...but it has me worried! Should I be?
  5. No real agenda for my wife and I...prolly going to ferry across from Victoria to Port Angeles in a day or so. From there we are heading south on the 101. This was day one: http://members.shaw.ca/rsxer/trip.jpg Hanging out in Vancouver for a couple days...
  6. I read these posts about Harley's and was convinced they were junk...till I rode one. They ARE a lot of money. But other than that I was very impressed with a rental I had for the day! An 09 Electra Glide Ultra. If not for the cost I'd be all over it!
  7. You must be a big guy to have it all the way back. I just got my seat and moved it all the way forward and I could still use a tad more. Are you sure you got it in the slot correctly? Anyhow I haven't tried it out on the road yet. Did yours come with mounting nuts? The old nuts don't fit! And they didn't include any. Pretty cheap for a $700 seat!
  8. Mine were making that scraping sound.Took them off and filed edges as per instruction from this site. Still makes that sound...I just ignore it now!
  9. One neat thing about technology is high speed cameras that capture the motion of fast movers like the Hummingbird. It gives a whole new dimension to the little guys. We never see them here in my neck of the woods. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJf-AQhDTz4]YouTube- Slow Motion Hummingbirds 2 HD 720p[/ame]
  10. Sometimes I will get a few drops of oil out the bottom tube after a long ride. Is that indicative of anything?
  11. Well I finally got my seat to a ride able condition. I found a local gal who reworks/rebuilds seats. Took several attempts. Cost me $$$. While it ain't perfect it's doable till something better comes along. I even demoed an EG Ultra thinking that the bike was somehow playing a part. While I liked the HD, I'm glad I didn't have to part with that much money for a touring bike. I still had tailbone issues on it as well. Hoping to leave for Milwaukee on the 21st this month.
  12. I've been on the I-90 thru Montana and Wash. a couple times. If you've never been, it's a nice ride and fast!
  13. I just ordered the Mustang...the dealer will let me return it if I'm unhappy.
  14. Your obviously not thrilled. They do require a break in. If you had to guess, what would you say about the seat in regards to folks that get sore tailbones from the stock unit?
  15. When u say forward, do you mean your whole body or is it the backrest leaning your upper body? I'm still struggling with my tailbone and was wondering about this seat!
  16. Actually on long Drives I sometimes put my feet way back under me. The heel/toe thingy gets in my way! Cut it off my Nomad and never looked back!
  17. I'm about to cut mine off. What stops it from rusting in the cut away area?
  18. Does air in the front shock reduce the dive when braking?
  19. You don't have to tell me. After the Corbin I got is no good and the Butler mod didn't work out I now have my seat over to a local girl who gonna try!
  20. Well that's gotta hurt!
  21. Ahh! It kinda looked like a 2 piece unit.
  22. Can this new Mustang be used with a Utopia backrest?
  23. Very entertaining!
  24. 10,000 miles and I get a noise like a rock is caught but I don't believe that's the issue. Need to take the calipers off and have a look. Would the pads be worn out already? They have indicators for wear? As an aside, we did a beautiful overniter into Kalispell MT thru Eureka. What a gorgeous couple days here!
  25. In my ongoing attempt to get comfy I was wondering about cycling shorts? They come with built in padding.... Aside from that I'm about to pull the trigger on a Daylong!
