  1. But this one is mine!! http://www.members.shaw.ca/rsxer/RSV.jpg
  2. As far as noise it's tough to word it. It seems to be in front and sounds similar to a whine of a trucks wheels going down the hiway...it may be a vibration from wind. It is only apparent at or above hiway speed. It could be the tire itself I hear? I'm not so concerned with it as I wear earplugs and generally the wind noise will dull it down. The vibration I feel is vague but there. I can feel it in the grips and the floorboards. It's in all the gears as you rev it out. Not really noticeable until the rpms get up. Being as there's no tach it's difficult to say what the engine is at! I test rode an 09 from a dealer last year. I don't remember either of these 2 things....
  3. That Clearview and the ShowChrome shield are the same height at 19.5". One is measured from the gas cap and the other length wise up the shield from the moulding. At 5'11" I can't see over the Showchrome. Which according to their ad is 4" shorter than stock...I am looking right thru at the line. As for the buffeting, on my initial ride here in the frozen west I used my regular helmet, a leather bound half helm, no buffeting. But seeing the temps are still low I decided to wear my older 3/4 and the buffeting was quite a bit more. Still trying to work out the personalizing bugs with this bike.
  4. Ask a broker about Jevco...$644 for me here in Calgary.
  5. Well like I mentioned...I really need to ride someone's machine. Maybe we could meet up and take each others bike for a 10 minute spin out 22X? I want to see if what I hear and feel are right or not.
  6. I need to put my mind as ease a little. Without getting into much detail and risk maligning the RSV folks, I want to compare bikes for sound and feel. I'm wondering how much engine vibration I should be feeling and how much noise I should be hearing. Being this bike was bought "untested" I'm a tad paranoid! So if anyone is in the Calgary area and could help a guy out I be obliged!
  7. $644 per year here in Calgary for full coverage on and 08. That's a $500 deductible! Mind you we're lucky to get 4 months of riding!
  8. Please Post your experience with those after you tried them...I been putting off getting this kind of setup for my self and my bride of 30 years!
  9. Was hoping it meant you "Probably" had one!
  10. I don't grasp the meaning of probably...
  11. Any chance that I could find a old seat or something from a wrecked bike to use the Pans to send to Daylong ? I don't want to part with my original. thnx Wade
  12. So how long have you been that way? If it's been a couple years why bother to upgrade? I'm guessing you don't have any ammeter? I need to do that gauge mod for the cassette thingy!
  13. Can a person just replace the existing bulbs with LED bulbs? Paid up!
  14. Yes I have Thermostats for both Jackets...On really really cold days I use heated gloves as well...but not so much! Can you link me to where and what LED lights I need?
  15. I was wondering if the charging system can hold up to a pair of Gerbing heated jacket liners? Anyone using 2 of these jackets with their RSV? comments?
  16. ^thnx for the offer...I'll try cutting down the stock unit first.
  17. That ClearView does look interesting. I like the idea of a vent for the stated reasons...It could certainly help with the buffeting... I'm an average build about 5'11". What would be a good height to order? Or perhaps I should cut the OEM unit and just keep track of the amount of cutoff? thnx guys. Very helpful for me and the missus!
  18. Windscreen is too high...Need a replacement I don't have to look through. Was also concerned about buffeting for my passenger. Any thoughts?
