  1. We now have a humming bird infestasion. We started with one feeder this spring and had no activity. Added a second and started seeing birds. Added a third feeder and I have never seen so many humming birds. We have to fill all the feeders every 2 to three days. It's real hard to get an accurate count, but I bet we have 15-20 birds. There a real hoot to watch.
  2. OK. We'll try to make it to the Red Roof Inn by 6.
  3. Shirley and I will be staying at the Tuskeegee motel over on 28 Friday & Saturday. We were thinking about going to The Chop House in Sevierville Friday, probably around 5 or 6. Yall could join us there, or we could join yall somewhere. We would love to meet up either way.
  4. Yea, I was aware that I could get the same result by lowereing the front, but I dont want to scrape anything. I get a sharp pain in the ribs everytime I do. Trader, They replace the stock shock links and raise the rear of the bike about 1 inch. You can buy them from Diamond R or make them yourself if you have a few tools. Mainly a drill press. Do a search for leveling links. Lot's of info on them.
  5. I made some leveling links per freebirds instructions and installed them Sunday. It's hard to believe such a small change can make such a huge differance, but it does. The one area I have been disapointed in with the RSV is the slow speed handeling. It has been a real chore in some instances. Well no more! The bike is more nimble and acually feels lighter while doing slow speed manuvers. I went from strugling to do a U-turn to being able to ride tight circles and figure 8s in tight quarters with little effort. I'm sure this will mean better handling in the twisties. I'll test the twisties this weekend. If you havent done this mod, DO IT!
  6. Peachtree City/Newnan is a nice area. The commute should not be too bad from there.
  7. Georgia Bulldogs and who ever is playing Florida. If it's not the SEC, it's not really football.
  8. I agree with Randy. It depends on where his job is located. Traffic around here is a nightmare. Studies show the the Atlanta area has the longest commutes time wise in the country. I only live 15 miles from work and getting home sometimes takes an hour. So the closer he lives to work the better.
  9. This is my first RSV, infact it's my first Yamaha since the 70's. Previous Yamaha's were an RD350, XS650 and a YZ400. Wish I still had the 650. There's been quite a few Honda's and a Norton in between. I've loved everyone of them.
  10. You can't call it woodworking if it's not wood. Nice work. I'm an avide woodworker myself. I'll post some pics soon.
  11. Sounds familiar. I went in looking for a new helmet and came out with an 09 RSV. Life is good!
  12. I'm 56. I've owned many bikes over the years. Bought the 09 RSV last Sept. Decided to keep my VTX and TRY to keep the miles down on the RSV. 13000+ and climbing.
  13. Is this anybody from here? http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_LxZ4Mi3rR3Q/TD5zPeL_llI/AAAAAAAAhEw/slfh-2eR9LM/s1600/img_9556.jpg
  14. I'm getting ready to make some leveling links and got to thinking about the reports of the shock going bad. Has anyone had the links on when it failed? Did Yamaha have any issues covering the shock under warranty? Maybe I should put the stock links back on before sending it to the shop if/when the shock fails?
  15. Nationwide decided to raise my rates. I have already called: Progressive - About the same rate Geico - A little higher rate Dairyland - A little higher again State Farm- is nukin futs:shock3: On my call list is: McGraw esurance Markel and Formost. Anybody else I can call? Thanks!
  16. Thats an exact copy of our plans.
  17. Thats how my hitch from chrome werks attaches. As far as I know, thats how they all attach.
  18. From the album: Bikes

  19. I use 4 straps, 2 each side, 1 to the front of the rack, one to the back through the handels of my Colman cooler. http://venturerider.org/forum/picture.php?albumid=517&pictureid=4475 It hasn't moved in years of use and easy access to the drinks and snacks. I dont have the rail around like yours does so a single strap on each side should be enough.
  20. No, not me. Shirley semi retired from Lucent 8 years ago and has been working retail part time since. Her social security checks started in May and she quit that job today. We finally got our weekends back.:dancefool: This means your gona have to put up with me more on the meet & eats. Youve been warned.
  21. Your addy should be, stvdurr. If you put @gmail in the addy box after that, that would be the problem.
  22. I carry 10' of chain and a pad lock. Chain it to a tree or pole if not leaving it hitched..
  23. True, but not to thru traffic. You have to turn around at the side.
  24. We usualy stay at the Phillips motel http://www.phillipsmotelonline.com/ Or the Tuskeegee motel http://www.tuskeegeemotel.com/ Both are mom & pop motels run by very down to earth, friendly couples. Nothing fancy but clean.
  25. I don't know how your getting that kind of mileage. Front tire was nearly bald and the rear was so badly cupped it sounded like a truck with mud tires on it. I was running 40F/40R. I have a VTX that I do my solo riding on, the RSV is always 2 up. The VTX also got crappy mileage out of the stock Dunlop 404s.
