  2. On the 27th of Feb I was honored to participate in a PGR mission for a corrections officer from Monroe Washington who was killed on his motorcycle by a 16 year old who was on her cell phone and not paying attention to her driving. After the memorial I started up by 05 RSTD and....No lights!! I knew it was a blown fuse but I didn't want to pull the cover on the fuse box, replace the fuse, and have it blow again as I tried to head home at night, only 80 miles but it was getting dark. Our ride Captain called Adventure Motorsports in Monroe. They were getting ready to close but would wait until I got there. As soon as I arrived the mechanic (Luke) took the bike into the shop. He diagnosed the problem as a bad connection from the passing lights...corrected it with a quick rewiring, replaced the fuse, threw in a couple of spares because I didn't have ANY spare fuses. I was charged a total of $12.00! This dealership stayed open for me, fixed the problem and got me back on the road in 1/2 hour! My hat is off to Adventure Motorsports. Here is their address and phone number if you ever need help in my part of Washington state. Adventure Motorsports 17321 Tye St SE #A Monroe, WA 98272 Phone: (360) 805-5550 silverdeer
  3. For grins and giggles I just ordered the "V-10" version for my Kia Spectra. I think it will make the car go faster! Sort of like using RainX on a Geo Metro, allows the car to slip the the air just a bit better. :rotfl:
  4. The dealership I use is a Yamaha dealer and they could not find ANY information on my 05 RSTD. I got it from a Honda dealership and it was a repo, but they didn't know (or wouldn't tell) how or where they got the bike.
  5. Well..When the Red Sox won the World Series it didn't freeze over! I have been a Saints fan since 1977. I even have a picture of Bum Phillips, Archie Manning, and myself on the 50yd line in the middle of the Super Dome. I was one of the few who went to the games without a paper bag. Now I'm hoping they go all the way.
  6. I have an 05 RSTD. 1. Khrome Werks mufflers - turn down tips 2. 12V plug in for my GPS 3. Bracket to carry a 3X5 American flag for PGR missions. 4. Driver's backrest
  7. Alternating the camera on the saddlebags. 2 days, 2 rides. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5adtCL1d2oQ]YouTube- GoPro Video Camera New Perspective[/ame]
  8. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GutDB6KFzto]YouTube- Ride With Mike[/ame] I have 4 videos on youtube and this is the easiest one to link with the others. Each video was mounted at a different place on the bike. Word of caution---I used a small length of string (or zip tie) attached to the camera and then to the bike, just incase the mount comes loose. I use the suction cup and haven't had any problems, so far..but I'm not taking chances. Mounting the camera on your helmet makes you look like one of the Tele-Tubbies! If you don't mind the stares, finger pointing, and laughing it's a pretty good place to mount the camera. Have fun with it and try mounting it in several areas. My favorite is suction mount to the top of the speedometer, you get a bit of glare from the windscreen but it's not bad. silverdeer
  9. Doesn't look like it has a CB or cassette player. silverdeer
  10. I sold shoes for 15 years for Footaction, Fred Meyer, and Brown Shoe Company - Factory Brand Shoes and Famous Footwear. I am podiatrist trained and here are my recommendations if you can wear an athletic shoe. Any shoe from Reebok that offers "DMX" cushion, ask the sales people they should know. Add Spenco insoles, take the old ones out (unless they are glued in) and add the new insoles. http://www.spenco.com/gel_2.shtml If you have to wear work boots then go with Red Wing boots. That company has been around since 1905 and they make some very good products. A bit pricey but consider the long term benefits and the price of a doctors visit and it's not so bad. Add the same insoles. Many people don't know this but shoe makers add an insole only to cover the stitching, not to provide comfort. When adding insoles get a shoe/boot that is 1/2 size larger than you normally wear. silverdeer
  11. Thought I posted..now can't find it. Watch this video and I am sure you will want to do this also. At the end of the video is a way for you to make your own video and send it to others. The picture of the "Hero" in this video is me. I think this is a fun video. Takes a while to load it but it's worth it. http://en.tackfilm.se/?id=1261611453793RA67
  12. Check out this 10 minute trailer for an upcoming documentary about the PGR. I met these young film makers while at the memorial for the 4 murdered Lakewood Police Officers at the Tacoma Dome on 8 Dec 2009. This crew of young folks stayed with us as we stood a 10 hour Flag Line with tempertures never going above 25F. If this trailer is any indication of what the final product will be like, then it will be a documentary that will make the viewers proud and cause a tear or two. These film makers have earned my respect. silverdeer [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEeF77S9CbU]YouTube- The Patriot Guard Film[/ame]

    Lakewood PD Memorial

These are pictures from the Tacoma Dome Memorial for the 4 murdered Lakewood Police Officers. Almost 200 PGR members showed up and stood the Flag Line for almost 12 hours in temperatures that never went above 25 degrees. The event was held on December 8, 2009
  14. Went to Fred Meyer (part of the Kroger empire) and bought a pair of snow pants. I will ride anytime there is no white stuff on the ground. Today it should be 45F for a high and 32F when I get off work. Any calls from the PGR and I'll ride as well. We may have a mission(s) coming up in Tacoma for the 4 police officers who were murdered this week. Unless its heavy rain/snow...I'll ride. silverdeer
  15. If you look at my profile albums I have a picture of a mount I made that holds a 3X5 flag on my 05 RSTD. It's a piece of cake to make and when I have a flag back there I don't even notice it. When I'm going to or coming from a PGR mission I use a long sock designed for one of my black powder rifles and I pull it over the flag. silverdeer

  17. Loving this camera more and more everytime I use it. Actually opened up the throttle before the music kicks in. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5adtCL1d2oQ]YouTube- GoPro Video Camera New Perspective[/ame] silverdeer
  18. Congrats on the writeup, now your a published author! The "Harley Hauler" looks pretty neat especially when you see how it works in the video. That's why I don't own a Harley...couldn't afford the accessories (truck and ramp) silverdeer
  19. I didn't know him either, but we had a common enemy...cancer. I am among the lucky, Dukes B2 colon cancer at age 34. I am now 53 and cancer free. My prayers and thoughts go out to his family at this difficult time. I also extend my prayers to doctors and researchers in the hope that a cure will someday be found for the terrible disease.
  20. I got mine thru the dealer and it was only 10 above the online price I found for the D404's. As a side note to my Canadian friends in BC.. Skagit Power Sports in Mt Vernon/Burlington Wa has a first come first serve Saturday. Order your tires on line and have them sent to my house on Camano. Then we can meet at SPS and they will mount/balance them. Not sure how much they charge but there should be a few dollars savings anyways. silverdeer
  21. Not having the equipment, time, or knowledge about making trailer hitches..A couple of questions: 1) Will that hitch fit an 05 RSTD? 2) How much to get one made? silverdeer
