With Christmas just around the corner and coming on fast, thought I would sneak in this shameless plug for my daughters business. www.DonnaA.scentsy.US She is married to a 25 year retired Marine Gunny and they recently adopted my first grandson. So, she has started this business to be a good stay at home mom to make sure I don't corrupt the grandson too much. Anyway, she would appreciate the business. Thanks for looking

[quote=jinx56;409584 My question is this: I sold my 84 gold wing to my brother in law who is a misplaced Manitoba Doctor living in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. This would be a good excuse to get together with him as well. Do you folks have any problem with a gold winger showing up at one of your meets? I have seen the light and my ride is an 01 RSV. Enjoy your riding; I can only be envious. Ken:bang head: Heck no. They even ley me show up in the Venture Ranger,,,,

with what some folks allow their children to see/hear, maybe a better question to ask is whether the joke/photo/comment/discussion is something you would be comfortable saying or showing to your grandmother. But, like Don, I personally think that everyone knows the ground rules and some folks just like to push the envelope to see just how much they can get away with.

Saddlebag/Tourbox Lightbars
Black Owl replied to Patrick46's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
No. But did you check out the lighted trunk guard that Grandpagak has for sale. It will fit your 91. -
With more news coming out about the shooting at Ft Hood, it appears that this effort may be off base. Am checking with an associate to see if there is any information which he can release as to who actually did what involving the taking down of the shooter. If it turns out the original reports were wrong, I will be returning all donations made to date and killing this project. Hope to have some conformation in the next couple of days. Until then, if anyone was considering making a donation, I would ask that you hold off. Thanks much

Metzeler 880 corporate irresponsibility sends me to darkside
Black Owl replied to jonsmyth's topic in Watering Hole
In my business, we have occassion to perform forensic failure causation examinations of wrecked motorcycles. One of the first things we look at are the tires for condition/wear patterns, and to determine if the tires on the unit are appropriate for the bike. Having a car tire on the bike would definately be an issue of concern. But, as has been stated, we each make our own choices and we live with the consequences of those choices. -
Heck, being legal is highly over rated.... but they would defiantely see yah coming....

Just noticed you are selling your rear trunk guard. With the LED bulbs, that guard would light up the rear of the bike like a Christmas tree. If I could figure out how to mount it on the Viagra, I'd jump on it at that price.

Total donations to date $415.00 Almost half way to the minimum amount we would like to raise. Thanks much to those who have contributed to date.
-
Fund status to date. $375.00 Thank you
-
Just a heads up to let everyone know that I changed the title for this thread. Thought it would make it easier to understand..
-
Off to a great start. $250.00 received. Thanks for supporting this project
-
Okay. Here's my thoughts on this. We set a minimum amount to be raised at $1,000.00. More would be great, but lets shoot for $1,000.00 The cut off date for donations will be December 15, 2009. That will give us time to get the funds sent off in time for Christmas. If we can't reach the minimum, all donations will be returned to the contributors. Paypal donations can be sent to my PayPal account at CFAS@Juno.com Checks or cash can be sent to Russell Hicks, 185 Redwood Drive, Apple Valley, MN 55124. Please make sure the donation is tagged for the Kim Munley Thank You Fund. If this is acceptable, lets walk the talk and get the ball rolling. A daily total of the amount raised will be posted on this thread. Thank you

Not yet. This would be from the VentureRiders here. And, if we have enough members here that think this would be something they would like to donate to, I would be willing to head it up and accept the donations here.

A few days back, one of the members suggested taking up a collection for a worthy cause. Some of the causes mentioned were care packages for the troops, another donation to St. Judes, Toy's for Tots. While all those suggestions are very good, I think that if we were to do something like that, that a fund be set up for Police Officer Kim Munley from Fort Hood. Officer Munley was the officer who confronted the shooter at Ft Hood, and though shot three of four times, still managed to take down the shooter. Officer Munley is a young officer and mother of two who is married to a military policeman stationed at Ft Bragg NC. While I am sure that her medical expenses will be covered, I can speak from personal experience that there are many other non-covered expenses which this family will be facing. So, what do you say. Can we make Officer Munley the official cause this year?

Well, the Lord willing and if I m mobile by then, Ill see yah all there.
