  1. Dale check out this fuse panel to replace the one in your scoot http://www.cyclenutz.com/products/electrical_accessories/fuse_panel_relays/blue_sea_6_circuit_negative_bus_2.html this might be an easier option for you the OEM fuse holders are weak and will break very easily. Jeff
  2. Dale go to bikebandit.com and look up the part nimbers for both I know that the royale and standard are different for the same years but not sure of year to year. What section of the harness do you need?
  3. Randy I have one of my scoots doing the same thing. i Know for sure on my bike it is in the tranny. With the scoot on the side stand sit on the bike (very important) and rev the motor if it is in the tranny the bike may like mine try to jump forward where the gears are trying to engage. My scoot has no second gear and I have not heard this on one with an opperational second gear but check it anyway the scoot may be telling you that you need to go back into the transmission and fix her again. Good luck Jeff
  4. I bought a 5x10 open trailer to carry my toolbox and 83 VR on when I go job to job I have looked at it and am sure that I can safely get both of my 83s on this trailer.whatever you get make sure it can carry the weight and is what you want otherwise you may wind up with 2 trailers.
  5. Elaborate the question we need to know full face 3/4 shorty and whats this about cutting the helmet????? If you are refering to the speaker installation most helmets have the ear peice in with 1 fastener that is designed to turn the lower part so you can install the speakers and just tuck the wires in between the foam and the shell Let us know so we can try and help out Jeff
  6. John do a voltage draw check and then remove the battery sensor and recheck the draw Dokons battery was going dead over night and I found that the sensor was the problem. Just a thought. Jeff

  8. This study is long overdue I would be interested in the statistics of the cages involved as well as age of riders and drivers. Most of the near misses I see are caused by SUV's driven by males believe it or not.Semi trucks are also a factor on I95 but for the most part they try to help out us Bikers when they can. I talk to a few of them on the cb and they let me know when some idiot is likely to be a problem as well as where the cops are. Did I mention I hate suvs and minivans?
  9. Ok Ill bite what part of the 83 are you working on?
  10. Anderson Brothers Yamaha in Elizabeth City N.C 252-338-2211 I have paid on the high end $126 rear and as little for a rear 491 of $99 and front tires average around $109 The last rear tire I got from them was a Elite 3 at a cost of $124 He charges 0 for mounting if you bring him the rim and $20 per if you ride the scoot in. Yes he will ship to any US location but Canada will have to be done through a member.
  11. Bigin I dont think you would want to know what your oil pressure is bikes usually only run 4 to 6 psi as far as I can remember.
  12. Nitrogen in car or bike tires is a waste. We use it in aircraft tires so that they dont loose pressure at altitude or dry rot the nitrogen also keeps the tires cool on take off and landings. I would not waste the money on filling the tires with nitrogen as it is only a gimick on the part of tire retailers. :2cents: :2cents:
  13. Yes they do make them go to http://www.crutchfield.com and check out all that they offer. Jeff
  14. Yes it is Mike I remove the cluster (4) 10mm nuts and washers then remove the 4 screws holding the black cover in place then 4 more screws and the circuit board will come out. Just so everyone knows that to remove the speedo cable you have to gently bend it sideways just a little to pull the cable housing off let us know if you need more info. Jeff
  15. While everyone that has replied to this post is correct the problem may lie in the computer circuit board on the cluster. If cleaning the connectors does not fix the problem try soldering the terminals on the circuit board everything goes through the board so the problem may be in a loose solder joint. Jeff
  16. Condor I have had to put one of my diaphrams back together just get them warm before you do change it so you dont split the rubber. Let us know how it turns out. Jeff
  17. I have often thought about an extra fuel tank but have not seen any that would meet my requirments. I also have not had the time to design and weld one together. I hate to stop every 125 miles just for fuel. If and when I do get around to making one I think it will be at least 5 galon so I can double the milage between stops when pulling my trailer.
  18. Gord How fast were you traveling? is this the first time the temp gauge has been in the upper range? How many miles ect. My 83 at speeds above 85 runs towards the red but never hits it. my 84 never comes off of the lower 1/4 of the gauge. As for the statement that they always run towards the red I cannot agree. I know that my 83 is in need of the water pump impeller it has 90K on it my 84 has 33K. Hope this helps Jeff
