My Sick 2nd Gen (long overdue update)
muffinman replied to Cerviperus's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Justin Mini said to tell you that you should refer them to the website and tell them You have over 3000 friends that know how these bikes are supposed to run. They can always call the Muffinman to fix the scoot under warranty but I charge alot Just dont tell them about my DQ addiction Jeff -
My Sick 2nd Gen (long overdue update)
muffinman replied to Cerviperus's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Well that makes me think that the dealer is just guessing at the problem.Tell them to start with the diaphrams then check the float levels. You may also want to tell them to ColorTune the bike If they do that they will see which carb is the problem. Jeff -
My Sick 2nd Gen (long overdue update)
muffinman replied to Cerviperus's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Have them look at the diaphrams while it is in the shop I had smelled unburnt fuel on my 83 and it turned out to be a slipped slider. The diaphram had pulled out of the slider. Why do they say that you need to rejet anyway did you change the pipes or something that may require rejetting? Jeff Dont worry about the first gen second gen tech mixup You do know that you are really riding a first gen Mk3 Dont you -
I too believe that it should be up to the rider over the age of 21. There has been many times that I was riding back to Savannah that I put my helmet back on due to the way the cagers on I 95 were driving. And yes Lewis I put it back on while I was riding but the fact is No One should have the right to tell me what to do on my own time unless I am sleeping with them. Jeff

Like to ask Question on weight
muffinman replied to JOE MCDERMOTT's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I ride a first gen but I use my body weight to get the bike off the center stand whether I am riding solo or 2 up. It is something you need to get used to doing. The more you ride the easier it gets.I ride solo everyday and on the weekends I take the wife or the daughter when I ride. Jeff -
Here is one that is in sticker form and it is 20 inches by 14 inches but if he gets in touch with them they may know where to get something smaller. http://www.campingworld.com/browse/skus/index.cfm/Outdoor-and-RV-Accessories/32508/skunum=32508?CFID=5544735&CFTOKEN=16351045 Jeff

Thanks Mr Owl for helping Juggler and once again Thanks Beer for last year. Jeff

Help !! Lost a Cylinder.
muffinman replied to a topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Popeye it sounds like the carb cables are out of adjustment. Not the throttle cables but if you read the service manual there is a note that says Do Not Adjust This.Dont ask me where it is I just came in from 12 hours of work but when I changed mine on my 84 it was doing the same thing.Look through the carb section of the paper version of the manual and read all of the Notes. Hope this helps If they cant fix it ride it down here and I will get it right. Jeff -
Thanks for getting me mad at the state of N.C. first thing this morning Dray. I would not mind getting one of these but there is not enough letters for the Muffin tag and at $60.00 a year Extra they can kiss my ___. As it is now I have to pay and extra $30.00 for my Muffinman tag. I would not mind getting one for Mini's Bike but I give the state enough money with tags on 3 bikes,2 cars,1 Motorhome, and 3 trailers every year. Jeff

I would say that it all depends on how mature the kid in question is.My daughter is 23 and I was surprised when she made the comment that she wants to ride.I imediatly started questioning myself on saying Cool.I know that I would be worried anytime she got on a bike.Although the first thing that I did tell her was register for the beginers safety course. There are to many imature people on bikes and it is a shame that there is. I agree with the state of North Carolinas 18 rule for a bike permit but would like to see it limit the type of bike a young rider can opperate. But that will never happen. Make your decision and stand by it we will be here to help you get through the arguments with your kid. And yes I know before anyone else posts it I am imature at times But I am only that way when it is only me on the scoot. Jeff

Tommy if you cant find the problem ride the scoot to the meet and eat this weekend and I will see if I can get it taken care of. Cary to the outer banks is only 3 1/2 hours Jeff

I personally use aircraft environmental splices they are a crimp type with a sealing agent that activates when you heat them up. When I put in a new fuse box I solder the wires to the pins for a longer life. Jeff

Has anyone here turned a first gen Venture into a Royal Star?
muffinman replied to a topic in General Tech Talk
Why would you want to do that to your 83? If you have ever seen the bike totaly stripped of plastic you would realize that they look much better dressed up.The biggest problem is the air filter box you got to have it or 4 smaller airfilters for the motor to run properly. Jeff -
Man you are getting perverted here lately. Is that what a grand kid does to a Beer?:rotf::rotf:
