  5. "I've read through midrsv's thread comparing the GL1800 to the VR and thought maybe it would help some that may be on the fence over a trade for a HD. I traded my 1988 VR and 2007 Sportster Custom for a 2011 HD FLHTCU (Ultra Classic Electra Glide) two weeks ago, and there are some pretty big differences in the two. I've only ridden about 200 miles (odometer read 11 miles when I signed the papers) on the Harley, but here is what I have noticed so far:"......... isn't 200 miles about a years worth of riding on a Harley???......................... just kidding but i do have a friend who has $60K tied up in his Harley and maybe rides several hundred a year....best of luck with the new bike and enjoy ....

Author Unknown: “Greater is He That is Within Me” “Greater is He That is Within Me” Greater is He that is within me, Than he that is within the world, Greater than all the skies, land and sea, Great is my Lord, great is His Word! Greater is He that is within me, Praise to my Savior, how great is His name, Who was, is and always shall be, Beyond all wealth, fortune or fame. Greater is He that is within me, Because Christ’s death and resurrection, A soul undeserved, am forgiven by Thee, To Christ my praise, my affection. Greater is He that is within me, Who breathes me life, I live for Him, My soul is blessed for Christ lives in me, Who has delivered me from death and sin. Greater is He that is within me, Once lost, now found, through grace alone, Because Christ has risen, I now am free, Oh praise His name to Glory’s throne. Greater is He that is within me, The giver of life and all that abounds, The Living Water to all who are thirsty, Glory to God, all creation resounds. Greater is He that is within me, Who forgives me for all my trespasses, Who delivers my soul and sets me free, Beyond my understanding, His peace surpasses. Greater is He that is within me, Than left to myself, me, or I, For me, a sinner, He gives eternity, When my heart surrenders to God on high. Greater is He that is within me, He resides in my heart each day and night, To believe, I don’t have to see, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” Greater is He than is within me, Than he that is within the world, To all who believe in what they can’t see, The gift of salvation unfurled.

The duct tape used was black and it can't be seen, but is easily felt for and retrived).".................... i've got a spot on my bike that could use a couple of those benjamins.......sure your son will have the time of his life and a story to tell that he will never forget......best wishes !

about 15 miles from me but in the 11 yrs. i've lived here i have not been inside. been told it's worth the admission (lol). if you're planning on going you should also go to Richard Petty's museum it's only 20 minutes from there.
  18. trader, thanks for the post - i believe it's always a good thing to try to keep mother earth healthy and these reminders could possibly make an impact. thanks don for your step of faith.....
  19. that was BradT who sold his bike.............
  20. go 18 correct........ once brushed my teeth with Brylcreem - my step dad left it laying next to the toothpaste - yechhhh !!
  21. that's what i did initially - but they are cracks. SW Moto said they were shipping another tire today, so we'll see how the next one looks.
  22. when i pulled my drive shaft to lube it, i had somewhat difficult time (both my son & I) getting the splines lined up with the u-joint....used a wire coat hanger to hold the u-joint in place while sliding the shaft in place. i found out how easy it is to miss the u-joint with the splines, thinking they were engaged. i would do mine more often if it weren't such a pain. glad to hear your went smoothly.
  23. Are those actually cracks? Can you feel them with your fingernail or could it just be "cracks" in the mold release agent? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- well i questioned that myself......i used my jewelers loop t look at it and it's deceptive at best....it appears that when you flex the sidewall the cracks open ?? the front tire is perfect! Sure don't look good. I would be asking questions. Where did you get it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i purchased them from South West Moto in Tuscon Az., it's the third set i bought from them. the last rear i bought had to go back due to it being wobbly.....they have really good customer service so i expect they will make this right asap. i'm beginning to believe that Avon needs to step up there quality assurance. i love the ride the tires give and the mileage is great too but this might be the last Avons on my bike, unless they step up the quality.
  24. This is my 3rd rear venom X, had no issues with other two sets. do you still have the contact info for Avon? i'm going to contact the seller and see if they have a tire w/o cracks that they will exchange.
  25. just received my new front and rear Venom X tires - the rear appears to have small cracks all around it (or maybe these are just molding marks?) - the date code is 4310, so they are fairly new? i've attached a pic - for those who have had this problem would you confirm that my tire needs to go back for replacement or should i mount it? TIA......
