Well when the Goobermint starts treating myself and other Vets as good as they treat ILLEGAL ALIENS I might have a change of heart.....but don't bet your house on it. Boomer.......who firmly believes the only good politician is a dead one.

When mine gets here it is going right into the garbage can. Boomer........who will give the Goobermint nothing but hell.

I'd like to see a listing of Insurance Co.'s that deal exclusively with MC Insurance. All of the Insurance Co.'s I see on Google also issue Auto Insurance. Boomer........who is still looking.

I have been with GEICO for the past 5 years. My rates have remained the same and I have the maximum coverage which they offer. I do not have Medical on my Policy. Every year I shop around.....and I let my GEICO Rep know that I am shopping too. Seems to be working fine for me so far. Boomer......the over-Insured.

IMHO there is a severe imbalance in the application of MV laws in cars vs MC's. Last summer I lost a very good friend due to some knucklehead RUNNING A RED LIGHT. My friend on his scoot T-boned the guy. The resultant injuries had my friend DOA before the ambulance pulled into the Hospital less than 2 miles away. The driver of the cage was cited with running a red light ONLY. My friend's family found out that the cage jerk owned nothing so suing the guy would be like trying to get water from a stone. It took a few months but justice was finally rendered to the cage driver ala "biker style"........and you can bet the farm that fool is still in the healing process to this day......and there is more justice coming his way too but he does not know it yet. No I had nothing to do with the rendering of justice.....but I sure as hell applaud those that did the honors. Boomer.............who missed the street party.

IMHO handling any MC at slow speeds is based upon a riders knowledge/skills and corrective action is easily obtained by PRACTICE. The weight of the Venture comes into play basically at low speeds and stopping. Folks with short inseams may find this bike more challenging due to its high center of gravity and their inability to get both feet firmly planted on the ground after coming to a stop. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones because I have a 36" inseam, keep myself physically fit, and have the riding skills/experience to easily handle this great riding machine. If one's passion for this bike is great enough all obstacles can be overcome through effort, mods, PRACTICE and honing of riding skills. Boomer.........who despite all has still managed to drop his Venture 2x's............

Yep....The Ipod Shuffle will hold 500 songs. Your butt will give out long before you run out of tunes. Check Amazon.com for great prices and fast shipping too. Boomer......who rides and boogies at the same time.

Latest news is that the cost of that failed bird was 300 million......looks like NASA is certainly doing its fair share to stimulate the economy with spending.

I've never seen a Venture wearing a Scottish kilt.............. Boomer.........who might check Victoria's Secret for additional add ons for his Venture.

Folks there are no laws on the books which can alter the stupidity level which many Cagers seem to possess. Defensive driving on my part and the capability to apply a large motorcycle boot to the needed posterior is all I need. Boomer......who knows that steel ball bearings properly applied quickly gives a stupid Cager a whole new perspective about driving.

BoomerCPO replied to timgray's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Hey Jason if you are experienced at using the Carbtune mebbe we could hook up to do my scoot? I don't have a clue as to how to do this procedure and my tools are limited......Shoot me a PM if this could work for you. I'd gladly buy Lunch. Regards.........Boomer -
April of 86..........It was the best thing I have ever done for myself.

LOL! Boomer....who went fishing and look what he caught.........

No offense meant here but you are asking for information overload on the Venture! LOL! I suggest you read through the Site as the info you seek is readily available..... Bottom line is that most of us here would not give up their Venture for any other bike and that should speak for itself. Even the guys who are riding the antique 1st Gen Ventures (which are started up with a pull rope) are happy with their scoots. Boomer......the innocent one.

My Venture does not fall under the head torque issue....but....my favorite Service Tech double checked the cylinder heads just to be darn sure.....and I witnessed him doing the check as well. This was done late last year if I remember right. Funny thing about this coolant leak....it was just enough for the coolant to be seen on the upper front of the radiator in droplets but not enough to pool on the floor under the scoot. Really a minor leak.
-
Yesterday my 06 Venture developed a small coolant leak from the upper radiator hose due to a small crack in the hose. Short story: The bike is at the Dealer now. Examination revealed small cracks in all of the coolant hoses. This is probably due to the amount of heat given off by the engine and the hoses close proximity to the engine. All coolant hoses are now being replaced; cooling system flushed; and fresh anti-freeze will be added. I will now add this work up to my Preventive Maintenance List and schedule new hoses for every 2 years. The cooling system will be flushed and re-charged yearly. IMHO now is the time to give your coolant hoses a good inspection.....I can only imagine what a massive coolant leak at high speeds would have looked like or the mess it would have made of the bike and me. Boomer........the lucky one.

I fully agree with you Joe. Bought my 06 Venture USED with only 400 miles on it. Got a great deal too. Boomer......the spendthrift.

I put 3 quarts and 8 ounces of oil when I change my oil. The 8 ounces is poured into a measuring cup and then put in the scoot. With the bike upright(put a piece of 2x4 under the kickstand) the oil level in the sight glass sits right at the halfway mark. Boomer........who does not like oil blow over on the scoot.
