  1. I installed headsets in both helmets and taught her how to use the intercom. Now the gear whine is the least annoying sound I hear.
  2. No. Just plugged it in. Much better than OEM.
  3. I used this one. Plug n play. https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/motorcycle-high-beam-and-low-beam-headlight-bulb/motorcycle-h4-led-fanless-headlight-conversion-kit-with-compact-heat-sink-2000-lumens/3930/8566/?make=105&model=3743&scc_id=1940&year=2009
  4. I'm running the 777 front. I changed the last one with over 15k on it because of cupping with good tread depth left. It outlasted 2 rears and several miles on the car tire.
  5. I hate to see this. Mic Mutes is one of the best mods I've done to my bike. I had a problem when I installed mine and tried to call and leave a message for Bill on a Sunday. To my surprise he answered while on vacation on Sunday. Problem turned out to be the installer forgot to plug in a connection under the seat- installer being me!! Great product we use every ride and Bill is great to work with. I highly recommend getting a set if you use the intercom.
  6. Check with Mike Eykamp- the diamond cut guy.
  7. Went for mind clearing 50 miler today. Just one of those days where I needed to slack the reins and let her go. Got home with a little less aluminum under the boards than what I left with. Been a long while since I've rode her that hard but it was nice. Went into some mild twisties with a rattling ass hardley trying to push me-came out with nothing but clear road in my mirrors.
  8. Should've come to KY it's only a balmy 94 here today. Didn't even have to wash the mower when I got done, the sweat already did it.
  9. There is an old post discussing cruise not working at some speeds after a VMax rear gear swap. If I remember correctly(50/50 shot on that) the leading theory had something to do with the TCI using a speed/rpm comparison to compute the gear. That's all above my head-I know very little when electronics come in to play. If that's the case could you use a SpeedoDRD or healer to trick it by throwing the Speedo off and using a gps or phone app for a Speedo? Maybe set it to show 55-60 while in third at mid rpms and try to set the cruise? Im thinking WAY outside the box and maybe completely off the reservation on this one. EDIT: after thinking some more, if this works for low speed use it would kill the cruise at highway speeds because of the 80mph limit. There's my DUH moment for the day.
  10. Yeah what the Fool said. (Not foolish at all). You're risking injury and damage to a bike worth way more than a welded adapter. Fixes in a bottle and welders in a tube are not high on my list.
  11. Is the slave leaking? If air can get in fluid will come out. How long since an oil change? Old oil makes it hard to shift.
  12. Well since I didn't get to say unlock it I'm not much help. I do have a right lid from my 07 blue if you end up needing one. I broke my right bag and bought a whole bag from Eykamp. The lid and hinge are still good.
  13. I commented on the FB post, mine are XL. I check with the small guys at work n see if I can find one.
  14. Being that we work with the cops at wrecks all the time I know most of the locals so it's built into a habit to wave at them. Not to mention my dad and two of my brothers retired from law enforcement.
  15. Glad to hear you back in the saddle.
  16. I was sitting in a dr office taking my physical to go to work for the fire dept.
  17. Unplugging the tank only kills the gauge. Don't assume anything when it comes to electrical, relay could be good or it could be stuck in the on position. Verify the relay and use a 3-5 psi pump, the points in the OEM are easy to change. The aftermarket pump may not have points at all. Whatever the reason for the smoke, fire and gas make a bad situation so I'd pull that pump and make sure what you have.
  18. Fuel injection pump? What is the pressure output? The RSV only runs around 3-5 psi, most FI pumps run much higher.
  19. I usually wave, depends on the other drivers how many fingers I use.
  20. So sorry to hear this. With two daughters of my own I can't remotely fathom what you're dealing with. Prayers up for you and your family.
  21. Dang. Now I know why the Dunop's never lasted for me. I use Rotella.
  22. When you get over this post you might as well do some oil reviews. About the same number of opinions.
  23. Yep he's the one. Great to deal with, I've bought a few things from him.
  24. No, not implying at all. I'm not a fan of filing points. If I see any deformity at all I replace them. To change em it's one solder joint and make sure the lever is in the shaft slot.
  25. Get them from Amazon. Other posts here with the number. I think I gave around $30.
