  1. Have the carbs been synched? It will cause a vibration under load if they’re unequal.
  2. You would hear the relay if it was the starter. Possibilities off the top of my head: do you have an ignition bypass installed? Check that relay if so. ignition switch, sidestand switch, cables/wire connection clean and tight at the starter relay and battery.
  3. I scored a new one from Partzilla last year but I don’t think they have them anymore. Upholsterer probably the best bet now.
  4. Carb cleaning, check tank for rust, check/flush all fluids at a minimum. It all depends on the price and how much work you’re willing to do. Check date codes on the tires.
  5. Congratulations. Life will never be the same but it’s in a good way. My babies are 30 and 23.
  6. Not from the factory. Previous owner may have added a vacuum petcock.
  7. Not a lot you can do to the sound system without butchering bodywork due to space limitations. Polk D404 speakers fit fairly easily in place of OEM. A lot of us add a Bluetooth receiver in the front fairing plugged into a “Y” at the cassette box. This keeps the original controller working. Welcome to the circus here.
  8. Thanks. I’ll show him this.
  9. @zzyzx aka Ed Williams sells the standard adapter for I think $135. I make an adapter with bolt on legs $180 shipping included in the 48 states.
  10. I can’t get the link to copy so here’s a screenshot of where I found them.
  11. Think I’ll wait a while.
  12. Too many options and arguments for each. Park in or out of gear, kill switch vs kickstand vs ignition, which oil, which filter, which tires, blah blah blah.😁😁😁🤪🤪 Why you talking trailers, you’re bike broke?😛 I just need to find the time to ride more.
  13. Prayers for a quick recovery
  14. @videoarizona Glad I could help. People ask me how I have friends in so many states and Canada, it’s all because of VR. It took a few minutes to wrap my head around what was going on and had to go mess with my bike to see what lights lit at start. I always park in 1st and kill the bike with the kickstand and really don’t look at the dash at startup.
  15. The bikes sold in the U.S. have a standard printed speed above the digital screen. I’m unaware of a way to change the digital display other than changing out the whole cluster.
  16. It does that🤣🤣🤣. I sorta like my WHOA pedals to work though. Reminds me of the old joke of telling someone to WD40 squeaky brakes to quiet them down.
  17. I need to spray down my brakes to see if they’re salvageable or need replacing. Been too busy with getting the shop repaired and cleaning up tree damage. I’m ready to burn some miles myself.
  18. Contact @skydoc_17 he sells a full de-linking kit. Earl is a stand up guy and will help you with any 1st gen upgrades.
  19. I hired an Amish crew to redo the shop roof. They got here Tuesday morning at 7:00 by horse and buggy and the four of them tore off the 1/2 of the old roof still there, installed new lathing, repaired a damaged truss, and had the new 2000 foot roof on by 1:30. They had a great system and worked together like a well oiled RSV. The best part of my day was they saw my Bluetooth speaker in my boat and used a phone I didn’t know they had and were jamming to some 80’s country. I really got tickled to hear Amish men singing to the Oak Ridge Boys. Elvira Oohm poppa oohm poppa mow mow.
  20. Good news the metal for the new roof gets here tomorrow. Hopefully next week it won’t rain in my shop anymore. Bad news the wife’s Jeep managed to cushion a tree limb from hitting the ground too hard in the same storm, gotta get it to the body shop.
  21. Guaranteed my rear brakes won’t lock up. I changed the oil recently and left the drain pan in front of my bike in the shop, a few days later some circling wind decided to relocate my shop roof into the woods out back. Two days of downpours followed raining into the shop overflowing the drain pan into a nice big slick on my floor, the falling rain splattered the oil all over the bike including I guess the rotors. Without really thinking about it I took it for a test run the next week, I quickly realized at the end of the driveway no matter how hard I stomped the pedal there was absolutely no chance of lockup. I can’t really recommend this design of antilock brakes though as the stopping distance is exponentially increased. 🤬🤬🤬
  22. You might check with Mike Eykamp, he has several NOS parts for Royal Stars he bought from shops going under and parts out some bikes. Pinwall was a good source but they sold out last year, not sure to who or what they’re going with it.
  23. Thanks Carl, that’s what I think he’s looking for. The dealer is a mega store and deals with mostly atv’s and utv’s from several brands. I checked them out when I was looking for a utv and wasn’t impressed with their people. I went elsewhere because of that. He’s wishing he did too.
  24. He bought it new. Problems from day one.
