    Not Happy

I know it’s not much to yall up north but we’re looking at 12” here possibly. We don’t have the plows and equipment to deal with it here. Out where we live a couple farmers and I saddle up the tractors and take care of the neighborhood roads. 3-4” pretty well paralyzes the area, 12” is a one in 10 year snow for us. Usually a very wet snow, one truck over it and it packs into ice.

    Not Happy

I was supposed to go to see the daughter in Florida this weekend, weather here put the kibosh on that trip. Guess we’ll freeze instead of sunbathing. Afraid to leave the house unattended with the freezing temperatures and possibility of ice and power outages out here in the boonies. Got the generators ready with plenty of fuel on hand. Being fully prepared usually means it won’t happen.
  3. I got in 80-90 miles today.
  4. I inspect the points when I do my Spring service. If they’re showing wear I replace them.
  5. I’ll ride a snowman ride the 1st and a Patriot Guard escort the 2nd. Supposed to be in the 50’s both days.
  6. Awful hard to sell a bike in the winter, especially close to the holidays. I’m waiting until spring to even try to sell my 07.
  7. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good ride!!! 65° riding weather here for Christmas, that’s a great 🎁.
  8. All the smaller companies are falling by the wayside. Overbey Two Wheel Sound was a similar business to Sierra, making all the big rallies and shipping helmets and electronics all over the country based here in Murray. He got sick and passed away 5 years ago and nobody tried to keep it going. The store is still fully stocked with name brand helmets and electronics just collecting dust, his motorhome and trailer in the lot not moving.
  9. I just learned Sierra is closing down. They have some pretty good close out pricing right now, I just ordered some extra headsets to have on hand.
  10. I remember hunting here in west Ky as a youngster when we were only allowed one buck tag and no does. If you saw a buck it was a successful season. Now we’re covered up in deer, we don’t mess with deer camp. I can step out the door most any day and get one or more. Last year fresh out of back surgery I shot two from the back patio, used the SXS to load em and took them to a processor. I usually process my own but another major surgery has me sidelined again so I doubt I even bother this year.
  11. Family. Food. Football. Hope you have a good one.
  12. I need a 2nd happy day for the pontoon. I use the fishing boat a lot, we live 10 minutes away from KY Lake which is one of the largest man made lakes. 160,000 surface acres 100% free to use. I spend more time cleaning the pontoon than we’ve ever used it.
  13. Gotta love an honest business. Glad you got her back in shape.
  14. Scary thought for those with newer Indian bikes. Seems like it’s becoming an all too familiar pattern for motorcycle brands.
  15. I just saw a video, today was #143 2 to go.
  16. No I just had them go over the chassis grease points and what I need to watch out for in maintenance.
  17. Naah, they’re arguing synthetic vs Dino.
  18. I’m sure $$$. I’ll stick to a V4 carb unit I don’t have to make payments on. On that note I bought Motorcycle Mike’s trike a few weeks ago.
  19. They have sold to Cypress Creek Motorsports. Dave and Ruthann are staying on staff for a three year transition before fully retiring. The Venture was never a huge seller for them but I don’t see very many people willing to invest that much $$ into a bike that’s been out of production since 2013. He did tell me they’re hanging on to the molds. The trike market is falling just like the touring market, younger people aren’t buying them. I use the same powder coater as Hannigan, he told me a couple years ago that he gets trailer and side car frames but very few trike frames anymore. They have a 3rd gen in right now getting a sidecar fitted to it. Cypress Creek builds a ground up trike using Chevrolet V8s and automatic transmissions. Called Challenger Trikes.
  20. I stopped in at Hannigan’s factory today, one of the office guys told me they dropped the RSV and a few other bikes out of their lineup this year. I don’t know if it has anything to do with the selling of the brand or not.
  21. I did 1098 miles on my IB run in 2019. No desire to ever do it again, never mind every day.
  22. That was the day I had my physical to start my career at the fire dept. I’ll never forget that day for several reasons.
  23. Just saw they caught him. Sad part is they can’t hang him on the court square today.
  24. Our store had 3 sets. I now have 3 sets, come down this way and get one, I’ll even pay for the coffee and donuts.
