I'd check the valve core first and then around the stem. Not all dealers change valve stems.

The local HD dealer is advertising a push it- pull it- drag it sale. They trade on anything running or not. Now I understand how they get repeat customers. I stopped in looking for a tail light gasket and wasn't gonna be that way until the Jap bike comments started flying. All good natured ribbing but it did get to one salesman when I told them that. All in all a fun few minutes of visiting but they didn't have my part.

I have the tall 2 piece Bagger shield. The knobs are low enough that they don't bother me. It's a bit tall for me, I'm looking thru it in the rain. I'm considering drilling more holes in it to lower it instead of cutting it down. I only tried it once with the top removed and didn't like the the low windshield but do like the added width.

Give those blue ones a little time in the sun. A man once told me the faded blue ones are fastest.

Too much going on there for me. I'm hardwired to the bike so I don't have to deal with dead batteries in my helmets and I have two rear view mirrors to see what's behind me.

Do they match the Mag light from last year?

I know both ways have pros and cons, as well as the different brands and models. I too choose to go corded simply because I don't want to deal with batteries. I don't want to have to charge constantly or end up on a long ride without the coms.

I'm with Don on this one. Briggs engines need valve adjustments regularly. Have a brother that makes a fortune buying slow starting or non starting mowers, adjusts the valves and resells them running great

There is a higher output stator available, not as easy as an alternator swap.

Diamond R is the only ones I have seen but the common complaint was they pushed the knees way too high. I looked at a set this weekend at Don's that had the screw removed and they were still very high. I made my first set about the same height and my short legged wife complained they were too tall. I lowered them an inch lower and she loves it. The ones I offer aren't adjustable but can be lowered farther by filing off the aluminum where it hits the stop. I'm thinking of making a steel set with powder coated chrome arms that will be adjustable but won't have them available for a few weeks as I have a couple of prop sets to build first. They will also go much lower than the DR. This pic is before I lowered them. You can see them in Cowpuc's video of maintenance day as they are now. Mine also include an optional Wolo horn mount built in.

Thanks Puc. I do have a few sets of pegs made up, they're just for VR members. I'll make a few more as I go along if members want them. The arm rests are prototypes, she tested them on this trip. I'll make a couple mods and clean them up as they're pretty rough and cobbled together. Once they're finished I'll post instructions for anyone interested, they're a very simple project. I'm waiting on the upholstery shop to make the finished pads to replace the temp ones I cobbled.

8 days on the road and we had a great time with mostly good weather. The only bad thing we saw was on the way south Sunday. I71 south at exit 140 in Ohio an HD tangled with the guard rail. They were loading the rider on a spine board as we passed, I have no idea of his injuries and hope the best for him.

I can attest to Skydoc's spring as I have it in two bikes. I have over 20k miles on my 07 clutch spring and just returned from a 2176 mile trip, two up and pulling a trailer. Worked flawlessly.

Finished the last leg of the trip. GPS app says 539 miles from our place to Freebird's, scenic route took us 2176.2 miles round trip in 8 days. Might have saved a few miles but we did follow Carl some.

We had breakfast with Bongobob and headed out. Rode in some rain for an hour or so but made it to Lexington where our daughters are. Had a blast visiting with some I met last year and meeting more this year. Figured out Cowpuc is real and not not a mythical creature. Had a nice conversation with Skydoc and got to personally thank him for the help and parts I've ordered from him. 40 you're welcome and I hope she enjoys them. We headed out Monday and made it to the Canadian border Tuesday evening. Got a room and supper and saw the falls lit up at night. Went back and toured the falls this morning before crossing back to the US side and touring our side and we rode the Maid of the Mist. That was enough of crowds and congested traffic for us. We headed south and ended up at the Seneca tribe casino for the night. First time I've ever stepped in a casino, since I didn't have a clue what I was doing and I'm cheap I set down at a penny slot. Turned $5 into $140 so the room and supper were covered by their money. Tomorrow we'll ride the state park and ease up to Bongo's area to get ready to head for Don's Friday morning. Hoping to maybe meet a few of the WNY group if they have time tomorrow evening.

I carry a simple $5 plug kit and a $10 foot operated pump.

Wife is loving hers. Need to do a little tweaking on them and have better pads made but she's happy.
