I can attest to Skydoc's spring as I have it in two bikes. I have over 20k miles on my 07 clutch spring and just returned from a 2176 mile trip, two up and pulling a trailer. Worked flawlessly.

Finished the last leg of the trip. GPS app says 539 miles from our place to Freebird's, scenic route took us 2176.2 miles round trip in 8 days. Might have saved a few miles but we did follow Carl some.

We had breakfast with Bongobob and headed out. Rode in some rain for an hour or so but made it to Lexington where our daughters are. Had a blast visiting with some I met last year and meeting more this year. Figured out Cowpuc is real and not not a mythical creature. Had a nice conversation with Skydoc and got to personally thank him for the help and parts I've ordered from him. 40 you're welcome and I hope she enjoys them. Thanks Don and Eileen for hosting us again.

We headed out Monday and made it to the Canadian border Tuesday evening. Got a room and supper and saw the falls lit up at night. Went back and toured the falls this morning before crossing back to the US side and touring our side and we rode the Maid of the Mist. That was enough of crowds and congested traffic for us. We headed south and ended up at the Seneca tribe casino for the night. First time I've ever stepped in a casino, since I didn't have a clue what I was doing and I'm cheap I set down at a penny slot. Turned $5 into $140 so the room and supper were covered by their money. Tomorrow we'll ride the state park and ease up to Bongo's area to get ready to head for Don's Friday morning. Hoping to maybe meet a few of the WNY group if they have time tomorrow evening.

I carry a simple $5 plug kit and a $10 foot operated pump.

Wife is loving hers. Need to do a little tweaking on them and have better pads made but she's happy.

Just to follow up on Cave in Rock, the cave itself is only a few minute walk from parking and is only 100-150 yards deep. Interesting to see but not a lot there. The village of Cave in Rock looks to be straight out of the 1800s, really nothing there since the fluorspar mines closed. The ferry is free to ride over to KY. Garden of the Gods in the same county is neat to see. No gas in CIR but 15 minutes down SR 146 is Elizabethtown with gas and food, there is a floating fish dock that serves the best catfish sandwich you can curl a lip over. When you get in the area contact me and if we're free we may run over, my wife grew up in Cave in Rock. We're 2 hours away.

Just speaking the truth Earl. I haven't seen any updates, hope you're healing up ok.

Other than seeing the falls we don't have any plans. We're just going to explore around and see what we find for two days. Never been in NY so it's all new to us. We're picking hotels on the fly so the location doesn't matter to us. Whatever is convenient for y'all works for us.

Hey Bob we left a day late, the kids came home for the weekend. We've made it to Huntington WV today and should be near you tomorrow evening. If the invitation is still open for a meet and eat sometime Wednesday or Thursday I really like to eat. Would be good to meet some of the WNY crew.

I used Skyfoc's kit a few months ago. Having all those shims meant I could change them as I went instead of recording each one and going back to swap them. A huge timesaver. Earl is great to work with, I've bought clutch kits from him for both bikes also.

We're leaving tomorrow and plan to be in NY Tuesday evening or Wednesday. We'll hook up also for the ride to Don's. #6

Thanks for the offer Sky but I figured it out. It's the top bolt on each side of the inner fairing, they go through the windshield trim and the outer fairing. 5x30 mm. I found some Phillips head bolts at a hardware store. I'll get the right ones in stainless when I get back and the store I need is open.

I would start by cleaning the audio plugs in the fairing and put a little dielectric grease on the rubber boots to keep moisture out. Check all your ground connections while you're in there, make sure they're clean an tight. The plugs are on the right side of the radio in the fairing in a large bundle.

I never ran into the rear end changes but our sheriff's dept had a run on transmissions in the mid 90s. The Crown Vic police packs were put together to stay together. I remember using a 3' cheater just to break the cross member bolts loose. The rest of the job wasn't much better. Think I did 5 or 6 of em one year.

Washed and waxed the RSV to get ready to head north and found 2 missing bolts. I explicitly remember starting the windshield trim bolts and then all the fairing bolts last week. I also remember tightening the fairing bolts but not the trim bolts, I sure hope they're not in some bodies tire. The book just says bolts and the parts list online gives a part # but no sizes. Does anyone know the size of the windshield trim bolts that go through the inner fairing? All this to preventively clean and grease the audio connections. :confused07::bang head:

The humidity here is high enough to quench your thirst in the summer, if you leave e-gas in a carb very long at all it will be nasty. All my small engines and bikes have e-free for that reason. I run canned fuel in my two strokes and have never had an issue since I started using it. Ethanol softens and destroys fuel lines on saws and weedeaters, the canned stuff doesn't. It's not cheap at $6 a quart but I only use a couple cans a year.

Yes, the bolt just under the rear of the pad is a pivot point, they fold up. I'm not a fan of the ones that pivot out. We'll test em this week going to Don's and if she's happy I'll have a local upholstery shop make some nice covers. I just wrapped em with black vinyl for now. As you can see I'm not an upholsterer. They also clear the trunk rest by 1/4" when it's open.

Thanks Don, just sharing the idea if somebody wants to build some. It made for an easy fab.

I hadn't found an armrest mount that I liked until I ran across these. They are Bimini top clamps for a boat. I did have to cut away part of the rubber coating on the grab rails and drilled and tapped a set screw in the back of the clamps. They fit nice and tight. They are test fitted in the pic, she asked for them a little too tall I think. I'll let her try them before I cut them down and finish the aesthetics.

Gonna start loading tomorrow for MD, we're leaving Sunday. If anyone coming is interested in the pipes I'll throw em in, free for the taking to get them out of my way. Don't want to haul em all over the country to bring them home though. They're just too loud for me.

Guess I'm lucky, my car tire guy mounts whatever I take him for the bike for free. I did buy my darkside tire there and he mounted it. I buy all my vehicle tires there so he takes care of me.

I just look at the one on my wrist. Magical enough?
