  1. Points are under the plastic cap on the pump. Look in tech library, it's an easy repair.
  2. McKibben Motorsports Lake Wales Star Venture Transcontinental $19,995. Found Deluxes for less.
  3. Last time I posted one for this price Freebird had already snatched it up.
  4. Just saw a new one on Cycle Trader in Florida. $19,999.
  5. That's sickening. Glad you're ok.
  6. My 07 flashers only work with key on.
  7. There are old threads discussing this from before the first ones were delivered. Some including me made the statement about buying the first run of anything would include some issues. Bikes, cars, trucks, etc are going to find a few growing pains with new designs. That being said if I laid out that kind of cash and had problems quickly I'd be somewhat upset too. I bought my wife a new car in 94 that exhibited some electrical/electronic issues is the first two weeks, Oldsmobile had the car more than we did that month. After some urging by me they stepped up and gave us another identical car that we put nearly 200k on with only maintenance parts ( water pump, brakes, etc). I'm sure Yamaha will stand behind their issues and make it right. While I've said it before the gen 3 isn't the bike for me I hope it's the best thing to come along since the 1st gens and give miles of smiles.
  8. I hate that this is turning somewhat political. It doesn't matter to me if someone served in combat, in support roles, or during peacetime. I started the post when I saw it was VN Veterans Day, I have the same respect for every veteran that has served this great country. VN era vets got shorted by the attitude of many back then and even though I was too young to know anything about it I'm bothered by it. So hats off to all veterans.
  9. Born in 1970 I was a tad too young but I have several friends who put in time over there, my grandfather served in WWI. While a spinal injury derailed my high school plans to join I hold deep respect for those who have.
  10. In honor of today let me say thank you to those who served.
  11. That's exactly what I could see happening here. 4x4 trucks crosswise of the street. They will run people driving in the left lane off the road, brake checks, etc. so dirt bikes wouldn't stand a chance.
  12. The whole chase thing is a sticky situation. I've seen departments stop all pursuits, then it seemed like too many people took it as a get out of jail free card and tried to run from everything. I don't know the best approach to it. Lucky I live in a small town so we don't see these mobs run atv's and dirt bikes like this. With the number of redneckes with big trucks on our roads I think problems like this would be solved without police help. Enough crushed bikes would curb the issue.
  13. Wow. As hard as it is to go 24 hrs straight riding I can't imagine it on a dyno. The boredom alone would be murder. Hats off to him and a good cause.
  14. Nor will it be the same afterwards if my suspicions hold true
  15. I finally hit it big and won. 4 whole dollars on a ticket that only cost me $6.
  16. I put one in my 86 because I knew I was going to buy a 2nd gen soon and saved a little cash. I don't have enough miles to give much opinion but works so far. If I was keeping one long term I'd go with Dano's mod. Haven't heard anything that would discourage me from that investment.
  17. Just my 2cents here but before I jumped off the deep end I'd pressure wash that frame to inspect it better, then I'd start measuring for square. If it measures up then you have options to which is easier, fix yours or frame swap. On that note since you don't have a history on the old frame I'd check it too.
  18. I'm definitely not great with carbs. This is the one thing I hope to address on mine at MD with some help.
  19. Congrats on your the 1st ride. I feel your pain on the shoulder...........literally. I finally let them cut me almost 3 weeks ago, living in a sling for 6 weeks. I've started some light therapy that will ratchet up in a few more weeks. Other than boredom and PMS it hasn't been bad. A couple days of moderate pain and since then it hurts less than before surgery. Good luck with yours. I did get restless about 5:30 this morning and walked out to the shop. Turned on the gas, pulled the choke, touched the starter, and let her warm up for a while. It sounded good but it didn't help with the PMS.
  20. I just read of the passing of Arlen.
  21. Very handy piece of equipment. Great for everything from engines to loading heavy things in the truck.
  22. I'm not real knowledgeable on what you need. I recently went dark for the first time and only have a few hundred miles on it. I've never ridden with a sidecar so I'm completely lost there. As far as the wheel I've not heard of a replacement rear that would work, need the gurus on that one.
  23. And you didn't lose the powerball. PS I didn't fill one out either. My daughter is in the running to win with hers in her med school class though, one game out of first. She can win $300 if she wins.
  24. Still got a few cousins in Greenfield and Fortville area.
  25. Since Belmont moved to the OVC it's been a heck of a rivalry with Murray. I really don't follow basketball much but this Morant kid has the country buzzing. I see you're in Indy, I was hatched just east of there in Greenfield.
