After reading the rules I deduced putt putt is the Yankee version of what we call mini golf down here in the real world. Guess it's sorta like y'all ordering sodas and pops instead of a Pepsi. Guess I'll have to practice some around here with a putter, haven't golfed in years. I quit playing a few years after I got married, can't remember why I quit but I'm sure it had to do with her taking away my balls. The bike is in the shop tonight-last Halloween we were riding. The big issue here though is Dairy Queen closes tonight. We still have one of the few walk up DQs and it still serves the old recipe ice cream. It's open March 1st-Oct 31 only, traditional around here for the lot to be full of bikes on the last day.

I would at least try to clean the tank. If it's flaking you're probably gonna stop up the petcock screen and fuel filter anyway. Remove tank and shake it with white vinegar in it, drain it and pour in some gas with 2 stroke oil in it to coat it. That's a cheap temp fix if not permanent and may keep you from being stuck on the road with a bad filter.

It ain't 98 no more. Oct 2 the high was 96-Halloween it's snowing and calling for a hard freeze. What happened to fall?

Congrats on the jobs Jeff. Feel free to keep that special WWW batch up yonder. Life has been in the way of riding lately, the wife and the bike are both biting at the bit to go somewhere.

Make it as comfortable as you can but just trying for miles isn't as fun as just enjoying the ride. I've done a few 800+ mile days and one 1100 miler just to say I've done a saddle sore run. When traveling with the wife it's usually not over 400 unless we have to be somewhere.

I installed headsets in both helmets and taught her how to use the intercom. Now the gear whine is the least annoying sound I hear.

I'm running the 777 front. I changed the last one with over 15k on it because of cupping with good tread depth left. It outlasted 2 rears and several miles on the car tire.

I hate to see this. Mic Mutes is one of the best mods I've done to my bike. I had a problem when I installed mine and tried to call and leave a message for Bill on a Sunday. To my surprise he answered while on vacation on Sunday. Problem turned out to be the installer forgot to plug in a connection under the seat- installer being me!! Great product we use every ride and Bill is great to work with. I highly recommend getting a set if you use the intercom.

Went for mind clearing 50 miler today. Just one of those days where I needed to slack the reins and let her go. Got home with a little less aluminum under the boards than what I left with. Been a long while since I've rode her that hard but it was nice. Went into some mild twisties with a rattling ass hardley trying to push me-came out with nothing but clear road in my mirrors.

There is an old post discussing cruise not working at some speeds after a VMax rear gear swap. If I remember correctly(50/50 shot on that) the leading theory had something to do with the TCI using a speed/rpm comparison to compute the gear. That's all above my head-I know very little when electronics come in to play. If that's the case could you use a SpeedoDRD or healer to trick it by throwing the Speedo off and using a gps or phone app for a Speedo? Maybe set it to show 55-60 while in third at mid rpms and try to set the cruise? Im thinking WAY outside the box and maybe completely off the reservation on this one. EDIT: after thinking some more, if this works for low speed use it would kill the cruise at highway speeds because of the 80mph limit. There's my DUH moment for the day.

Yeah what the Fool said. (Not foolish at all). You're risking injury and damage to a bike worth way more than a welded adapter. Fixes in a bottle and welders in a tube are not high on my list.

Is the slave leaking? If air can get in fluid will come out. How long since an oil change? Old oil makes it hard to shift.

Well since I didn't get to say unlock it I'm not much help. I do have a right lid from my 07 blue if you end up needing one. I broke my right bag and bought a whole bag from Eykamp. The lid and hinge are still good.

I commented on the FB post, mine are XL. I check with the small guys at work n see if I can find one.
