  1. Alan: We are staying at the Airport Inn in South Bend.. Tell them you are with the VentureRiders and the rate is good. I think we are paying under $50 / night.. Looking forward to seeing you.. Wayne
  2. OK we have signed into the Airport Inn.. That is Wizard765 and Marcarl.. Meeting us in the parking lot was Bongobobny, B2Dad and Carbon1.. Shortly after that Dano and Rosebud showed up.. Getting cooled down a bit then heading out for dinner... YAHOO!!!! LET THE FUN BEGIN....
  3. We just got sort of settled at a Best Western in Hartland Michigan.. Going for a swim then a few cool ones then some shut eye... A few hours tomorrow and we should see you at the Airport Inn as well... This is gonna be a GREAT week. The ride so far has been fun. Even went through a very small community called.... "Venture Corner"... How cool is that?? Yahooo!!!! Here we come.. Wayne
  4. Hey Wally: That guy is pretty good... I wanna see the finished product.. I'm sure everyone is gonna wanna see that... Wayne
  5. Relays are easy.. There are usually 5 spade connectors on a relay. One goes to power. One goes to ground. One goes to signal in (activates the relay) and 2 go to Power out to your light(s). I ran a (1)fused power wire to the back of the bike from the battery. Then I powered all my LEDs from that. I also ran a ground wire. Then I tapped into the existing harness for signals (I also did brakes and running lights) to activate the relays. You can purchase the relays at pretty much any auto supply stores. Here I got mine at Canadian Tire which would be much like your Auto Zone... If you have any more questions PM me with your phone number and I'll call you (long distance for me is free)... Wayne
  6. I had the same problem when I was adding LED signals as well. I couldn't get them to full bright by wiring directly to the harness. I troubleshot that for hours. What I wound up doing was running a power wire from the battery and using relays to turn on the signals. Now I have full bright and works fine. Added bonus I guess is that is isolates the extra lights from the harness. I also did my trailer hookups this way. This whole affair drove me nuts. I wound up chasing every plug I could find on the bike and cleaning the joints then plastering with dilectric grease. None of this solved the problem until I went direct to the battery. Wayne

What about the ones from Buckeye Performance..? http://www.buckeyeperformance.com/p18.htm
  8. Hey Brad: VERY nice.... When are we going camping?? Wayne
  9. I added LED turn signals and also noticed they were dimm so I put relays in for those and powered them directly from the battery. Worked very well and now the signals are much brighter.
  10. You can still order a drivers backrest from Utopia. They are excellent. A little scary to install because they have the center post so you have to cut a slot in your seat but they come with instructions.. http://www.utpr.com/venture.html Wayne
  11. My wife (Robin) is voting for Tank Top... Will there be choices of colors? Gotta be ladies sizes.... Small Wayne
  12. I like it Earl... Looks GREAT!!
  13. For me you will always be Squidley..... I don't think I'd ever get use to Cupcake... But whatever turns your crank.. I'd still be calling you friend... Wayne
  14. Just one word... PICTURES??
  15. I have an iPhone with the TomTom app. It is excellent. Turn by turn directions with street names etc.. Does not use data (which some of the built in apps do). I found an excellent cradle for it and it works perfect. Wayne
  16. Ok here are some pics from our ride thanks to my Navigator..

  20. Thanks Rick: This is the kind of stuff that I'm looking for. I have never been in that area so any advice is very welcome. Roads to take.. things to look for etc.. Thanks everyone for your input. I LOVE this club.. mostly because people help each other.. Awsome.... Wayne
  21. Ok here we go.. Meeting 8 AM at the Pioneer BBQ (I actually know where that is). Please come with a full tank and ready to ride. Stopping in Mono Mills (corner of Airport Rd and Hwy 9) for fuel and coffee. Should be in Mono Mills by 10:30 if anyone wants to join us at that point. Bala for lunch.. This will be a long ride and through some amazing countryside. Part of the ride will be through one of the twistiest roads I know of in Ontario. I'm not a daredevil so this twisty will NOT be pegscraping but it IS BEAUTIFUL.... Wayne
  22. Thanks guys this will help...
  23. So after the rally in Potato creek we are intending to run up the west side of Lake Michigan to Escanaba and then across to Sault St Marie followed by Tobermory. Question is What is the BEST way to get around Chicago?? That is the only part of the trip that I'm not looking forward to. Wayne
  24. I would feel comfortable with ANY size cooler. Even a tool box. Something even heavier. The cooler slides in snug and won't move around. The bungee's I put on the sides just to be safe so it cannot slide sideways on a fast curve. The top one is so the lid doesn't pop open while travelling. Wayne
  25. Yes I can shorten it somewhat but I don't want to remove some aspects... It would take away from the purpose of the ride... If for some reason we get too late we can hop on the HWY to get home sooner... Wayne
