A few weeks ago I gave out the number for Bendix brake pads for the Venture. I gave the number as MA113. That is the number for the first generation RSTDs not Ventures. Sorry I gave you the wrong info. I don't know the number for the Venture. tew47

ok , folks. i have read in here SEVERAL times that you can install the left side cover/stator cover, with the shifter linkage in the wrong position. well that may work for some, but it DID NOT work for me! after five attempts, i finally figured out WHICH PART of the linkage needed to be turned UP. in the wrong position, mine would ALMOST mate up, but the last 1/8 th of an inch, was a no go.flipped the offending culprit up, and slick as a mink, it went right into place.i also noticed that the top right bolt hole, was just shy of perfect alignment, when the linkage was in the wrong position. so check your linkages real close, the first time, and remember YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PUT ANY FORCE into the re-installation. just jt

Mike, if you're out there, I got your check for the battery cables. Unfortunately, I don't see where you want the all black or the color coded and I'd rather not send you the wrong ones. Let me know which you prefer, and I'll get them right out to you. Sorry for the delay, been out of town for a while. Thanks! Paul

Got new rubber front and back - but I got to tell you getting the rear wheel back on was a pickle. Don't know what I was doing wrong. Loosened up the 4 bolts to the rear drive, but still had the dickens of a time getting the tire past the protrusion that the caliper bracket fits over.. The bracket & caliber kept getting in the way - just too tight of a fit. What was I doing wrong?

I think we ended up with about 20" of snow. It's a real mess right now. I did manage to get to the store this morning in the wife's SUV but there is no way that I'm getting out in my company Caravan. My brother in law came over yesterday and when he came in he told me that I was snowed in and no way would I get out. He said that I had about 3' deep ruts in the driveway. He was wrong, he made about 3' deep ruts in the YARD because he MISSED the driveway. I will have a lot of work to do when it warms up and dries up enough to do repairs. Hope it melts off soon.....I HAVE to get out of here and back on to work. Have I mentioned yet today that I HATE THIS WHITE STUFF.

Hi, I have a gas tank on my 84 venture thats leaking. I purchased another one from ebay and the gas cap opening is smaller. I havent had it installed yet. Do you think this could be the wrong tank or did they make them with two different size openings for the first gen.?

Hey I just posted this I think in the wrong page? Anyway who do I put picture on my page thing, and how do I make them smaller to put up there. Thank you

I have never had much experience with wobble but I would expect that there are some do's and don't should it happen. Let's just say for the sake of discussion that one is going down the road, say at a nice comfy 60 mph , jacks it up to 75 to pass and wow, it starts wobbling like crazy. I suppose the first thing would be to let off on the gas. How about breaking? Is the an excepted procedure? I ask because years ago I had a blowout, and not a clue what to do, I hit the break, wrong way and wrong time to find out, so I thought I would get the jump on it and ask about wobble.

I purchased a hitch from Denray. They said I should install a Denray hitch part number 71 on my 86 Venture Royal. After it arrived I held it up under the back of the bike to size up the installation. It doesn't look wide enough to attach to the saddle bag supports. I may be wrong but will know soon as I am in the process of removing a failed hitch. Has anyone else installed a Denray hitch on the 86 version of the Venture Royal? If so what was the part number of the hitch. Perhaps Denray accidentally packed the wrong hitch.

I have just returned from a job in Milton doing a sound proofing for a studio among other things for an individual . Because of the guys on here I was really looking forward to this week in the north. But to my surprise I was met with some bad attitudes from some when some of the locals found out I was from " The States" . Don't take me wrong some where very nice ,but others where not so nice. Am I missing something? Why is this ? Thanks .......Fred

I see in a couple of posts that some people are very adament about not using DOT5 brake fluid. I have been using it for well over a year on the RSV in the clutch and front and rear brakes as well as in the front a rear brakes on my 1997 Honda Shadow ACE for about 4 1/2 years. I have had no problems, leaks, loss of brake strength or anything to indicate this is the wrong stuff. I do know that you need to be careful and not mix any different types. Please explain why you feel that this is so wrong. If Im headed for trouble I would like to fix it before but it should have happened already if it was.
