I have seen this many times and I've been on the Yamaha site trying to figure it out and cannot seem to find it so I'm just going to ask. What is the difference between the "Royal Star Venture" and the "Royal Star Venture S"?

Anyone know where I can get a rear disk for my 87? And is it the same as a range of other years of the Venture Royal? OEM is backordered, and wants a fortune- $900!

Hello Everyone, I'm just about to become a new owner of a 2000 model XVZ1300A Yamaha Royal Venture Star. I'm already having some problems over here regards being able to get accessories for the bike. Its not very popular in this country and Yamaha Europe are beginning to discontinue the parts that I can see advertised from the star accessories web site. I am wondering if you can advise if there is a source for accessories for the bike in the US that would ship things to the UK........ These are the parts that I would be interested in getting for the bike. Does anyone have or have knowledge of the Royal Enfield line. I had a thumper (Meguro made by Kawasaki) in the 60s that I bought from a serviceman. It was a 250 and really could climb a hill. Also I had a 441 BSA that was a screamer for torque. I have been thinking of another.

I just got an 08 RSTD am searching for accessories. I keep running into discrepancies with model numbers. Anyone know the numbers or can point me to a site where I can figure it all out. Most recently I was searching for a Custom World Driver Backrest. One place has a part number 04-169 and it fits XVZ-1300 CTT ROYAL STAR 05-UP. Other sites have a 04-167 which says will fit 1300 Royal Star Tour Deluxe 05+ but when I search the 04-167 number all I find is that this part is for the Venture and they have nothing for the RSTD. Very confusing. I maybe incorrect, but think that the RSTD and the Venture aren't exactly the same in the seat mounting department. Can anyone shed some light on this. Tom Update: I found the answers I was looking for by going through the NADA book. Model numbers in there.

I have been a rider for over twenty-five years. My wife and I would like to step up our riding and do more longer range trips. Currently I have a Road King Custom but considering the Royal Star Venture. Seems like everyone that has one is totally happy with it. Can anyone answer these questions: 1. What is the chance of a fuel injection version for 2010? 2. Generation I is 1983 thru 1993....What is gen II and is there a III? 3. Is the RPM range at 60mph about 2850? 4. Any riders have any pros or cons about this bike? Thanks for your help

Had someone pull out in front of me again yesterday; I had my 3x5 foot flag in the wind but the man upstairs helped me out when I needed it. Sure glad I didn't have my "stuff" on board. Now for the rest of the story; I installed a bar and spotlights with switch on my Vstar 1100 (which has been traded in). I have not been able to find something similar for my 2004 royal star venture. I went to the website for cobra and even talked to them; they could not help me. I have confidence in venturerider.org; someone can point me in the right direction.

I recently bought a set of used Yamaha leather slant bags, complete with mounting hardware. They were installed on a Road Star. I think the mounting hardward is different for a 1996 Royal Star but I can't find pictures to confirm. The Yamaha website just shows the bags and not the mounting brackets. Can someone show my pics of the brackets for a 1996 Royal Star?

I have been riding a Roadstar 1600 for about 6 years now and want to move to a Royal Star Venture for some more serious Touring. My wife and I have had the Roadstar out to the Black Hills, Yellowstone, Badlands and Montana and it's fine but not a true touring bike and lacks some comforts. I don't like the look of Goldwings and at 6'5" they just don't have enough room for me. I love the look of the Royal Star and it seems roomier. I seem to recall that some airbox improvements have been made over the years giving a bit more power and torque to the Royal Star. Is there a year that is preferable? Are, say, the '06's and on better than the '99 through 05's? I figure this is the place to ask. Tom W. Illinois

My name is Roger and I live in Michigan and I own a 1998 Royal Star Tour Classic. I love the bike but I'm having a serious problem with it that no one can seem to figure out. My Royal Star shuts down out of the blue on me. When I say shuts down the engine will die and I will have to coast to the side of the highway to restart it. Dangerous I know. Sometimes when it shuts down my hand will still have the throttle wide open and it will kick back on. I took it to a repair shop that replaced the intake rubber cleaned the carbs changed the plugs and fuel filter but the problem persist. My step dad says I have a ghost bike. One thing I noticed is that it will not shut down on me if it sits for a day then i ride the following day. If I ride two consecutive days it will shutdown down the second day. What in the world is going on? Please help!

I finally gave in to temptation and bought a 2006 Royal Star Tour Deluxe/14000 miles. I was wondering if anybody had any advise or items of interests about this bike I should know about. I thought I got a good deal having paid $8000 for this classy machine.

Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Military Motorcycle If Patton had designed motorcycles, he'd have built the Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Millitary ($5,545). A favorite among military enthusiasts the world over, the Bullet 500 is an eye-catching ride. And although it looks like something that rolled out of World War II, it handles just like a modern bike and has all the modern amenities, like a highly-tuned engine that has 23 BHP at 5500 RPM. Recent updates include lower emissions and better fuel economy (75 mpg). http://www.uncrate.com/men/images/2009/03/royal-enfield-military.jpg

Say Gang, I joined this group less than a week ago and am learning alot about Yamahas and have made several friends along the way. A few days ago I was seriously considering a 2000 Venture MM with 103,000 miles for $5k. While many of you helped with pro and con comments regarding a high mileage bike, the owner notified me that he has been sold the bike. Today, I found a 2000 Royal Star Venture with 33k miles in excellent condition for $6995. It is red with black seating. Now just to be sure, there is a difference between the looks of a Venture and Venture MM Limited Edition. Do both have the rear seat with stereo speakers, front fairing, etc.... On the web site, www.totalmotorcycle.com while looking at 2000 Yamahas, the site shows both the Road Star and Royal Star bikes with pics and specs. I would like to know from the pros, if the above bike is a good deal or not. It is much closer to home and I would not have to spring for out of state expenses to get the bike back to Texas. Thanks again everyone and have a great weekend. I hope to join you on the road soon. Best regards, Mike

I contemplated trading my 99 Venture for a 96 Royal Star many years ago. I rode the 96 for about 20 minutes and it seemed to ride much better than the reports led me to believe. The reports said the bike was underpowered and that forth and fifth gears were way too high. In that short ride I didn't find those to be an issue. I know the 05+ RSTD would be very much like my Venture was in terms of performance. But a older one would fit the budget better. What are the shortfalls of the older Royal Stars from those that have owned them?

I have a 2004 Royal Star Venture, pearl white. I think it would look good with whitewalls; I need a front tire ASAP. I have looked at the Avon and I can't find it listed for whitewalls; it appears that number of riders prefer this tire. I have found the Dunlop D404 has whitewalls but have no info on this tire. Looking for feedback or suggestions.
