1. Saw this today - thought I'd pass it on for those looking for a camera to mount on their cycle: http://www.1saleaday.com/
2. 20 questions you might find on a learner's test for a driver's license ... could you pass with 100% ?? http://autos.ca.msn.com/editors-picks/gallery.aspx?cp-documentid=28010183&page=1 Well, I totally disagree with one of the answers ... which one do you think it is? Assuming I got that one right, then I got 2 wrong for a 90% .
3. No wind in your face, no bugs in your teeth, might as well drive a mini car I will pass on this one. http://www.wimp.com/ecomobiletests/
4. In early April, on a bike???? I've made a few memories from following up on some old country and truck driving tunes I used to hear when I was a kid. (and still love to hear, Satelite Radio rocks) I plan on going to Luckenbach, TX at the end of March, heading back through NM, and maybe visiting an old friend that moved to Colorado Springs a few years ago. I see Wolf Creek Pass is in the neighborhood, so I thought I'd see if that top load of chickens were still laying next to that tunnel. But I don't want to bash my MRSV into the side of the feed store in downtown Pagosa Springs. So, how are the road around there in early April? Later, Scooter Bob
5. For those adventureious souls who like hiking. http://www.angelfire.com/ak2/intelligencerreport/scariest_path.html Myself I'll pass. Larry
6. THIS IS HAPPENING RIGHT HERE IN OUR OWN COUNTRY! > > We Must Stop This Immediately! > > Have you noticed that stairs are getting steeper ?Groceries are heavier . And, everything is further away. Yesterday I walked to the corner and I was dumbfounded to discover how long our street had become! > > And, you know, people are less considerate now, especially the young ones. They speak in whispers all the time! If you ask them to speak up they just keep repeating themselves, endlessly mouthing the same silent message until they're red in the face! What do they think I am, a lip reader? > > > I also think they are much younger than I was at the same age. On the other hand, people my own age are so much older than I am. I ran into an old friend the other day and she has aged so much that she didn't even recognise me! > > I got to thinking about the poor dear while I was combing my hair this morning, and in doing so, I glanced at my own reflection . Well, REALLY NOW - even mirrors are not made the way they used to be! > > Another thing, everyone drives so fast these days! You're risking life and limb if you happen to pull onto the motorway in front of them. All I can say is, their brakes must wear out awfully fast, the way I see them screech and swerve in my rear view mirror. And now you have to look out for Toyota's on top of it all!! > > Clothing manufacturers are less civilized these days. Why else would they suddenly start labelling a size 10 or 12 dress as 18 or 20? Do they think no one notices? The people who make bathroom scales are pulling the same prank. Do they think I actually "believe" the number I see on that dial? HA! I would never let myself weigh that much! Just who do these people think they're fooling? > > I'd like to call up someone in authority to report what's going on - but the telephone company is in on the conspiracy too: they've printed the phone books in such small type that no one could ever find a number in there! > > All I can do is pass along this warning: > WE ARE UNDER ATTACK! > > Unless something drastic happens, pretty soon everyone will have to suffer these awful indignities. > > PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO WE CAN GET THIS CONSPIRACY STOPPED! > PS: I am sending this to you in a larger font size, because something has happened to my computer's fonts - they are smaller than they once were.
7. My wife an I were out for a ride yesterday from our home to a nearby town which is about 45 miles away. We hadn't gone far when we came up behind a line of traffic and had to slow down a bit. As we were riding along I began to notice there was a small truck a couple of vehicles ahead of me that was weaving back and forth from the centerline to across the white line on the edge of the road. I stayed behind for about 15 miles before finally passing and put some distance between us and the pickup. Now I'm thinking, "all is well". As we continue on, I notice the truck is catching up, now he's riding too close to me. I tap my brakes to let him know I'm concerned about his being so close to me. We come to a passing lane but he doesn't want to pass, just stay right on my rear. So, what do I do, he's still weaving and acting like he's either impaired by alcohol or lack of sleep. Before passing him, I had noticed he had an out of state tag, so I'm guessing he's from out of state and been on the road too long. I've given him the opportunity to pass, so now I crank the throttle and leave him behind. Once again, all is well. As it turns out before long I've run up behind slower traffic again. This time I see a SUV slowing ahead of me to turn right so here I am putting on brakes for him when I glance in my rearview mirror and see this idiot bearing down on me with all four tires in a slide. As, a last resort I split traffic, going between the turning vehicle and the oncoming traffic to keep from being rearended. The driver of the pickup naturally acts like nothing has happened and passes me on the right. My blood was now boiling! It's probably a good thing I don't carry a weapon with me because I would probably be in jail today for manslaughter. After a few choice words directed in his direction, I continued on where he turned onto the interstate and our paths divided. (1)I'll never again pass up the opportunity to call the LEO's to someone like this. (2) I'll never pass someone else like this and hope to let someone else deal with him! I wrote all this to make you all aware of the dangers out there of drivers that are behind you, not only to your front. Be careful out there folks, most times we don't get a second chance!!
8. Keep our guys in your Prayers: They are having a bit of a time in Hatti Those that are members of other forums please pass this on. http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/americas/11/17/haiti.motorcycle.missionaries/
9. This may be politically incorrect, but here it goes: Get your stamped card ready and hold it until two weeks before Christmas and the mail it. THIS ONE IS FOR A GOOD CAUSE..PLEASE PASS IT ON Pass this on to your church, co-workers, family, and friends. What do you have to lose but 44 cents, what do you have to gain ----------- more than you will ever know. What a clever idea! Yes, Christmas cards. This is coming early so that you can get ready to include an important address to your list. Want to have some fun this CHRISTMAS? Send the ACLU a CHRISTMAS CARD this year. As they are working so very hard to get rid of the CHRISTMAS part of this holiday, we should all send them a nice, card to brighten up their dark, sad, little world. Make sure it says "Merry Christmas" on it. Here's the address, just don't be rude or crude: ACLU 125 Broad Street , 18th Floor New York , NY 10004 Two tons of Christmas cards would freeze their operations because they wouldn't know if any were regular mail containing contributions. So spend 44 cents and tell the ACLU to leave Christmas alone. Also tell them that there is no such thing as a " Holiday Tree". It's always been called a CHRISTMAS TREE! And pass this on to your email lists. We really want to communicate with the ACLU! They really DESERVE us!! For those of you who aren't aware of them, the ACLU, (the American Civil Liberties Union) is the one suing the U.S. Government to take God, Christmas or anything religious away from us. They represent the atheists and others in this war. Help put Christ back in Christmas!
10. Before I trashed my Cleirview shield (since it snapped off) I pulled the vent out of it. I bought the shield from a fellow member here who bought the shield from clierview with the vent installed. The vent works fine (the ball bearing could use a cleaning and lubrication I'm sure) but all the pieces are there. I was going to hang onto this vent and install it in another shield but I think I'm going to give the round pop-vents a try and figure I can pass this along to another member that wants it. I'm asking $30 (USD) And that is shipped to you (in the US). If anyone in the Vancouver BC area wants it, I can deliver it to you for no charge sometime between 6-21/Oct/10. I have attached some pictures. I can take PayPal, Personal check or cash (if we meet in person).
11. My wife and I went over the Beartooth Pass Laborday weekend. It was closed the Thursday before because of snow but beautiful on Saturday. I've attached a few pictures in case someone is wondering if they should go to Cody next year. Very pretty area.
12. Went and took the road test yesterday. Funny thing is the only thing I had a problem with was the u-turn. Had to put my foot down every time. Had 2 highway patrole officers watching me . Thats where it got funny. They set me up with an eight foot u-turn because of patole cruisers in the way. I explained to them that minimum on this bike is 114 inches . they said prove it and I showed it to them in my owners manual. One officer then said okay you pass, the second ( a motorcycle cop) said not to pass me as it can be done. Went and got his patrole bike and proceded to drop his bike twice trying to make that turn. last I heard from him was a few choice words that the pg rating in here will not allow me to post . the first officer was rather tickled by thgis as he said the second rider /officer was always bragging how he has nevedr lain down a bike in his life. Needless to say I got my endorsement. David
13. I just bought an '83 Venture Royale. But, it doesn't have some of the goodies I want. To start with, I want to add a trailer hitch but haven't been able to find a supplier. If you know one, please pass it along. I'd also be willing to pick up a used one in good shape. Also, any tips for trailers would be helpful.
14. I just thought I'd pass this along for any of you VR riders who just love to enjoy your cruise control. Over a month ago I replaced my throttle cables; still a little stiff. Wrench and I decided to replace the cruise control cables as well. POINT: it too him over 3.5 weeks to find them, so they are getting scarce. Mine cost me a little less than $63. At 71 years and on an 86 not sure I'll now buy a spare set. HOWEVER: the cruise just climbs up hills without any of those familiar 'drops.' I have no idea how long that will last, but for now I'll enjoy it! Meanwhile, off Tuesday with dogman (Dave) who is driving to Ft Collins, CO, from Toronto, Canada. We will be taking 14 W off I-25 past FC, to Cameron Pass (10,276 Ft), to Steamboat Springs, to Glennwood Springs; There will be an overnighter there, with Dave in his trailer camper and me in a motel. Then we split as he heads to Los Vegas where his wife is flying in for their vacation, and I head back home. That is, IF I last that long! LOL JackZ aka DePreach
15. Well I want to thank all my friends here who kept my son in their thoughts and wished him good luck in his Mr. Universe competition. We just got back from Barbados where my son Josh won first place in the middle weight amateur INBF Mr. Universe competition. Josh also won the overall competition which judged the winner of each weight class for the overall winner. The winner of the overall competition receives his pro card. Each contestant has to pass a polygraph test and the winner has to pass a drug test to prove they are clean of drugs and steroids. So I am the proud father of the 2010 INBF Mr. Universe winner.
16. Just received this disturbing e-mail!! Remember this before you think Arizona is wrong to pass the new law........... Montebello High School in California You will not see this heart-stopping photo on the front page of the NY Times, nor on the lead story of the major news networks. The protestors at Montebello High School took the American flag off the school's flag pole and hung it upside down while putting up the Mexican flag over it. (*See pictures below*) http://i49.tinypic.com/35k028h.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/1amth.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/2dui0bb.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/34ewchw.jpg I predict this stunt will be the nail in the coffin ofany guest-worker/ amnesty plan on the table in Washington ... The image ofthe American flag subsumed to another and turned upside down on Americansoil is already spreading on Internet forums and via e-mail. Pass this along to every American citizen in youraddress books and to every representative in the state and federalgovernment.. If you choose to remain uninvolved, do not be amazed whenyou no longer have a nation to call your own nor anything you haveworked for left since it will be 'redistributed' to the activists whileyou are so peacefully staying out of the 'fray'. Check history, it is full of nations/empires that disappeared when its citizens no longerheld their core beliefs and values One person CAN make a difference.... One plus one plus one plus one plus one plus one........ .. The battle for our secure borders and immigration lawsthat actually mean something, however, hasn't even begun. If this ticks YOU off....PASS IT ON! IF IT DOESN'T IT SHOULD!

E Z PASS Location

Anyone out there have any advice to share on the best location to mount an E Z PASS on the RSV?
18. Interesting concept and I think a pretty good idea but at what looks like about $385.00 in US Dollars, I think I'll pass. http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/reevu/msx1/
19. From Highway 1 (Trans Canada Highway) take Highway 40 south through Kananaskis Country and keep going higher through the Pass and finally down to Highway 22 near Turner Valley. Note that this route is only open between June 15th and December 1st. It is very high elevation, you are often looking down at the vegetation line. Awesome scenery! There is a small gas station / convenience store about half way through the ride. Bob LeDuc
20. A buddy and I are planning a trip from near Amarillo to Nashville and down the Natchez trace and I am thinking about using PikePass on the turnpikes. I was wondering what the best way to use the Pass on a bike was.
21. I am bidding on a radio and tapeplayer for a 1983 venture on ebay. If i get it all I need is a few parts to make mine work. So if anyone needs some parts let me know and i will pass them on to you. It will be a couple days before the sale ends. IF i get it I will let you know. Doug
22. THE JOB - URINE TEST (Whoever wrote this one deserves a HUGE pat on the back!) Like most folks in this country, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck in my case, I am required to pass a random urine test (with which I have no problem). What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. So, here is my Question: Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their ass - doing drugs, while I work. . . Can you imagine how much money each state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check? I guess we could title that program, 'Urine or You're Out'. Pass this along if you agree or simply ignore it if you don't. Hope you all will pass it along, though. Something has to change in this country -- and soon
23. We just got back from a week in Colorado. What a great ride. The weather was perfect for the whole week except the 1st day, which was ok, since we were acclimating to the 10,500 elevation of the condo that day anyway. One note, our Ventures run great in the mountains. I was riding with a couple of new Harleys, one 08 & one 09, I could climb Loveland Pass at 65 mph, 2up with the cruise on and the harley guys were wondering why I was running so hard! Here are a few pics.
24. I've read thru the posts and still need some direction. i have an 07 rstd i purchased the Yamaha passing lamps and bar. I've got everything apart and have difficulty trying to push the stock turn lamp onto the special bolt supplied with the kit. here are the measurements - the o.d. of the special bolt supplied in kit (which the stock pass lamp is supposed to slide over) is .792 and the i.d. of the pass lamp is .772.....that is 20 thousands and i can tell you it ain't gonna fit without some grinding. i cannot believe yamaha expects the end users to have to grind or do machine work to make this fitment. anybody out there got any ideas? thanks, buz
25. Hey everyone, i am looking at some job/college opportunities and am wondering if anyone in the forum is a state patrolman for Arizona. I plan on going to ITT Tech in Tucson Arizona, and then pass my tests and become a state trooper. Thanks- CJ:bobby:
