Haven't been on here in a while, been busy with life things this winter. Had a few health issues (minor), and a big cancer scare with my mother in law (Sam's mom). Thank God it seems to be negative so far, but we've been on pins and needles for a month or so. She will be seeing another specialist this week for a final diagnosis. Sam goes in this week for her final follow up on her little heart scare this summer, and I'm having a bunch of wisdom teeth pulled on Wed. I still think of you guys often and hope you're all doing OK with this crappy economy. We WILL be at MD so we'll see you all there. I'll be back posting a little at a time here. Vin

turned with a glean in my eye to my bright and shiney near mint 1987 Venture Royal ready for a beautiful long days ride. Aaaaaahhh... life is good. No payments (thank God, no job) and only 41,000 miles. She still needs to be broke in. Guys she almost looks like she just came off the show room floor. I sold my 84 and only paid $800 difference. :innocent-emoticon:God is good brothers and sisters.

Hello everybody, The weather here in Pa. seems to be colder longer that I'd like it to be. However, my question is, how many of you who live in a cold climate, start your bike up once or twice a month and let it warm up? Is this ok to do? I don't have a battery tender on it so I have been starting it up every once in a while. Buddy of mine says it will rust my pipes from the condensation. He suggests I leave it alone, that I might be doing more harm that good. I'm talking about an 08 Venture. What do you guys think? Thanks

Had a great ride today, bike was running well, full tank w. seafoam, sunny, mild (that last for you guys up north). Ran about 125 miles and stopped before heading home for a fill up. No sense running the last 20 miles in the dark on the interstate with an estimated 25 mile range left. Problem is, she just didn't feel/sound right after the fill up, as in right away! RPM's seemed to be where they were supposed to be, she was running at speed, but seemed to lacking Oompf as well as sounding different. Maybe a bit more throaty? (even my wife noticed). Perhaps a sound similar to the turbo boost braking my (diesel)truck when I take my foot of the gas. Sure would like some suggestions as to what you guys might think about this. Thanks!!

I had one of these on my old '96 Royal Star and was very pleased with the performance. Now, I'm thinking about putting one on my '07 venture. Baron's in having a holiday sale right now for their retail, E-Mail customers - 25% off their in-stock items. Their regular price is $289 for their Dyna units, so that would be a pretty good price. Plus, I like dealing with them. They are a good vendor! But, times are tight and I gotta watch those Christmas funds, so I'm looking for the best price I can find. Does anyone have any suggestions for a better price? I need the model D3K7-5. Thanks guys & Merry Christmas! Pete.

That white stuff you guys all talk about..... SNOW ..... Last night ( Saturday ) it snowed in beautiful Victoria. It would seem that IT is going to stick around for a week or so. THAT is a long time to go without being able to take the bikes out of the garage. I kinda know now how you guys in the east and south east must feel. I never missed a whole week of riding for a long time....... I may not be able to go for a christmas ride....oh what to do now?

Dear fellow members. I am one happy guy now. Just booked and paid for my airline ticket to USA the 26th. of May 2009 to attend "Freebirds Maintenance Day" and meet with all of you nice people. Heading back the 4th. of June. I am like a little kid waiting for Christmas - counting the days!! Can not express how much I am looking forward to this. My bike is in storage at motorcycle shop in Bearsville New York, ready for my arrival, tuned and lubed all through. Henry the nice gentleman in Woodstock NY. who sold me the bike will be picking me up at JFK and I will be spending a couple of days with him and his wife. Then on Friday morning I will hit the road for Oberlin Ohio. Estimate to arrive around 18.00 hours. Spend the weekend with you guys and then head back to Warren Ohio to meet Jim and the guys at the dealership(Yamaha of Warren) who sold me the bike I have in Iceland. Plan to drop by his place without notice and say hello. Think it will be more fun that way. Great guys there who have stretched out many times regarding accessories and spareparts for me and my riding buddys here in Iceland. Most likely spending a night there and taking a slow ride with lot of stops on my way back to New York riding through Pensylvania and hopefully find a Amish region and stop by and say hello so to speak. Question - Would I want to ride through Pocono Mountains in PA? When arriving in New York I will stay with my friend Henry for a couple of days and plan to take day rides upstate to Adirondak Park (Lake) as well as doing some neighbourhood riding in Woodstock. None of this is pinpointed except my arrival in New York and meeting you guys at Freebirds. The rest will be just roughly planned with all possibilities to change directions whenever I feel like it. If any of you guys have any suggestions then by all means speak out. My travelling plan is based on doing a little bit of web browsing as well as using Google Earth. So chime in and give this little Eskimo some suggestions and or guidance. Last but not least - Where would you guys recomend me staying in Oberlin for these two nights? Forget the tent - I am to spoiled for that and hate snakes! Read the other day an older post from someone who had been riding in the US and staying in small towns at 40 US$ motels. Is that possible? All I have found are 70 US$+ for the night. I am not picky regarding acomodation - all I need is a bed to sleep and a shower and I am happy. O.K.,,,,O.K.,,,, I know it is almost seven months but bare with me. I am just so exited. :dancefool::dancefool:

Well the wife is going to buy me a satellite radio for my "06" Venture for my birthday. Oh boy. Was thinking on getting the radio and installation kit with the bracket all in one. As usual I come to this great site to see what you guys can recommend. If anyone has pics on what they have on their bikes that would be nice. Thanks

I was putting things back together and saw this rubber boot on the ground... I've been in the left radio compartment, in and around the steering head, under and over the carbs and fuel pump and didn't see it ON something or see anything that looked like it needed it. Ok guys, where does it go... (1 1/4"L X 1"W X 3/8" high) http://www.bergall.org/temp/venture/huh.jpg
