READ BEFORE YOU WATCH It's hilarious. The more times you watch it,the funnier it becomes. It is from a Dallas news broadcast. Watch the little critter, a small desert lizard, on the left side of the table. Remember the man on the left is concentrating on the snake the other guy is holding. This news guy will never live this down, that's for sure!!!! Then watch it a second time and listen closely to the 'sounds' the newscaster makes!!
  3. Hi, SW Moto Tire here in Tucson has had a good rep on this site for some time with good prices and service. FYI, they were recently sold to the guy that owns AZ Honda, the biggest Honda dealer in town. I actually went to the parts counter in the Honda shop to pick up my tires from SW Moto. I had no problem, the prices were still good, and the guy said that the two businesses are still technically separate, though housed together and owned by the same guy. But just be aware that things might change. Jeremy
  4. OK folks, I just got a telephone call from a man in Hammond, Louisiana who has an '84 Venture Royale that he needs to sell ASAP. I don't know the guy but he got my info and called me. He has no title for the bike so is selling it as a parts bike only. From what he said, it hasn't been ridden in a couple of years. That's about all I know about it. He told me that he is trying to start a business and needs some cash. He would like to get $400.00 for it but will listen to offers. His name is John Grime and he can be reached at 985-878-9726. Seems like a nice guy but as I said, I have never met him and this was the first time I had ever talked to him.
  5. Jamies (Wingman) Goldwing is now posted on Ebay and someone is already trying to scam him with an offer to pay more than he is asking and wanting him to sign off on a sales contract........Told him no way you want to deal with this guy unless he shows up at your door with cash in hand.......... Wingmans Wing
  6. My mother put me on to this story. http://www.ohio.com/news/dyer/38072269.html I feel for the guy in the SUV. Seems like he's being hung out to dry.
  7. I am sure youve all heard me complaing about the cold around here the last few days. Well here is a story of a guy riding his scoot across Canada to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes. For those of you that may not know the overnight low the night before he arrived it was -40c which also happens to be -40F WITHOUT any windchill factored in. This guy is dedicated to his cause, I hope he raises a ton of donations for Juvenile Diabetes. Crossing Canada in January is gonna be one cold and long trip!!!!! http://www.leaderpost.com/Health/motorcycle+tour+raise+awareness+about+diabetes/1180062/story.html Brian
  8. Soooooo glad Blago has been impeached! Did you happen to see his recent speech? OMG, this guy is completely nuts. Not a political rant in anyway, this is REALLY entertaining, in a crazy way.
  9. A little bit of a long story, but avoid or be very careful with Carlock Powersports in Jackson TN. At least when we raised he** with the manager he made them do it close to right. While we were at the bikefest, the back tire dwindled quicker than expected so... Off to Jacksonville, TN to find another. Ended up at Carlock Powersports (The local Yamaha/Kaw dealer) A. The didn't have the right size rear AT ALL. B They only had the Bricks. After being told by the parts dept. that they had nothing, I asked one of the other workers out front if there was anyone else that might have a tire (Had already checked Honda and Harley shops) At least this guy realized that we need a tire BAD. He says surely we have something close enough! so, back in we go. Found a 130/90-15 (close enough at this point) Service guy asks what bike and I told him a 06 TD, he says it will be $70 to mount it - (YEAH, we're off!). Pulled around, he looks at the bike and says Oh, that will be $140 to mount. They knew we were from out of town, they could see by looking that we NEEDED the tire and decided they would get some extra to go play. I argued with him for a bit, he went to the service manager and came back and said it was a hard tire to change due to shaft drive and all(Guess other 06 TD's aren't shaft with bags) and it would be 120. I told him straight out that he was gouging me :headache:and my normal guy charges $55. But go ahead since we gotta have it. We then went and found the manager and told him they were gouging us since our guy can do it in 45 minutes and this places labor rate is $80/hr. Manager at least went back and checked, then came back and said well, they should have said it may take a couple of hours and he was sorry they didn't make it clear but they would charge the hourly rate. (I had already clocked them when they started. Took the guy 45 mins - they still charged $89. But at least it wasn't $120. I told the service kid that he needed to learn how to explain to customers that the hourly rate is X and we think it will take this long but may be up to that long and the charge MIGHT be Y. He didn't seem to care. I know, will get rid of that 130 Brick ASAP:8:. Forgot how noisy those suckers are, at least it does have tread and does stick to the road. You would think that a dealer would welcome someone from out of town and try to be gracious and show a little compassion for someone stuck on the road. Got back to bikefest and someone else told us you really have to watch them, they like to charge outragous prices and take a really long time to do simple stuff. Other than that - the people of Jackson and Lexington(especially) are VERY NICE people and a great bunch. The bikefest was to raise money for the battered childrens shelter and they do a great job.
  10. Last Wednesday coming through Nashville, The wife pulling the horse trailer, 4 dogs and 2 horses and me following on the TD, some idiot decided to cut from the left lane to the off ramp. He had already pretty much missed the ramp and shot straight across the three lanes. Wife locked down the truck and trailer (which was of great surprise to me - being behind her) Fortunately, I wasn't to close and slid around and hopped a little but got lined out. When I got back so I could focus on her, it was just like the wrecks you see on tv - tire smoke, gravel and dust everywhere, she was headed for the sloped median between the highway and the offramp with the trailer sideways, the guy had gotten to the ramp and slowed down. She got off the brakes and straightened it out but WOW what a ride. Thanks to her quick thinking and GREAT driving, everyone is safe and happy. It's a terrible feeling watching your loved ones sliding sideways down the highway with nothing you can do but wait for the dust to clear. Moral of the story - watch out for idiots from the left lane to the offramp, don't follow to close - and learn how to grip that seat. (I may need a new Mustang now!) Of course - The guy disappeared and the cops were nice but said there wasn't much they could but keep an eye out for the Black piece of crud 4x4 Chevy pickup.
  11. Anybody have any knowledge about Wings that might help me? I am going with a friend tonight to look at an 84 GW interstate with 53k miles. The guy is asking 2400 but is negotiable. I know! I know its not a Venture but he's my buddy! Whaddayagonnado?
  12. The first poster said let's talk about politics...another poster said no let's not talk politics...then someone said let's talk about the economy...the next poster said, no that's still politics...so the next guy said let's talk about married life...but the guy who followed him said that REALLY is politics...moving on the next guy said let's talk about work...but his friend said that was like politics too...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm:starz:. Sorry, I don't like politics (or potlickers) either...ruins too many friendships...hmmm, Where o' where I have I had that before....but I had to take a break from the politics at work. Curt ...so do I get a BE response, or chuckle from the pond keeper?
  13. This afternoon my youngest sister was in a car accident and was killed. I won't go into any more detail than that. She was single and had no children. Leaves behind my dad, my other sister, my brother and myself. Many of you here are a lot tighter with the big guy than I am these days so if you could send up a few good thoughts for our family it would be appreciated. She was my dad's little girl and he is taking it hard. Thanks everyone.
  14. I wont tell you what it is about, accept that it is related to motorcycles and nothing like the Nigerian thread in the past but it is quite funny and the biggest ripping (Seriously poor guy) at the same time. This particular thread has been all over the world. You will see what I mean as you read it. Before you click the below link, I want you to know that there are a few choice words used on a few posts (Not many really) a couple of PG pictures and maybe one R picture (I saw no nudes). http://www.zxforums.com/forums/zx-6r-forum/14462-fi-light-need-help.html
  15. Yea, I haven't been hanging out here because I have been in another forum that deals with Mrs. GigaWhiskey's new to her bike. NEway, this guy just bought a clean looking CB550 and it stopped running on him right after he got it home. This is his first bike so he surely does have the ability to mess something up. A couple of members have him taking his carbs all the way apart. This guy has no idea if he has a dirt in the tank blocking the petcock tubes or fuel getting to the carbs or spark getting to plugs or a blown fuse or any of the basic things most of us will go through for something that could be really minor. You think he even has a sync tool, LOL, doubt it. Well, I said my peace in the thread so how it goes is how it goes. Btw, these things are sooooo easy to work on. Tank off in about 15 seconds, maybe 15 hours on ours, lol. I have no probem taking this CB750 to the frame for a powder coating, would not dream of it on mine.
  16. I found a reference on another forum regarding a supplier of Penske shocks for H-D motorcycles. I e-mailed and got a quick response from the owner. He quoted a price of approximately $500 and up, for a replacement shock for the RSV. I am not in the market yet but I recommend anyone considering replacing their rear shock to give this guy a look. He was very responsive to my questions. I would be interested in anyone who goes with a Penske. This is his contact info: Howard G. Messner >> 1-866-899-5962 Toll Free E.S.T. >> [/url]http://motorcyclemetal.com/ Ride on.....
  17. Just wondering if there are any members from North Bay Ontario here. I am going to be riding up to the Bay Thurs to Sat this week. I know it is short notice, but was hoping to meet anyone in the area. I am going to meet up with some friends up there, and do some riding on Friday. I am also meeting with the guy who is going to paint my bike over the winter, so he can get some pics and take any measurements he might need. It is the same guy who painted the helmet in my profile, and in some of my gallery pics that you have commented on, so the bike will be amazing when it is done. Anyways, if anyone is in the area, let me know if you are interested in meeting up, and riding of course. Or even suggestions for nice rides in the area would be awesome too. Sonny
  18. Writing the product description for the Royal Star Venture... How much do you suppose they pay the guy to write in a different color every year??
  19. Almost. This is what I came out to at lunch today. I was parked at an angle to the curb about 6 to 8 feet behind a Black Ford F-150 pickup when I went in this morning. When I came out to ride to lunch, the truck was gone and my bike was laying in the street. There was a guy on a Burgman scooter stopped as he thought there had been a crash. I saw the guy that lives in the house on the porch and motioned for him to come down to the street. I asked him if he knew anything about what happened. He said his girlfriend had left in the truck, but she did not hit my bike. I said is was obvious someone hit it and I suspected it was the person driving the truck. He is a bit redneck with about a dozen piercings and he started this I am gonna whoop your a$$ stuff. I said thats' all folks, I am calling the police. Well, it just so happens the guy on the scooter had some real close Police buddies and he called both of them. In a few minutes, both of them were there. Our Company Security people came by, but they informed that with it being on city streets, they were not involved. So, the scooter guy and I start talking to the LEO and he says it looks like a hit and run. The LEO talks to the guy at the house and that guy gives him the girl friend's phone number and she tells him that she did not hit my bike. So the LEO says with what he is told, there is not much more he can do until he can investigate more. The LEO gave me the card to get the police report and if I find out anything else, to let him know. Well, as the afternoon wore on, one of the engineers I work with said we might have it on company video. I give Security a call and ask and the guy says,"Ya mean the one that happened at 11:29 that shows a black pickup truck knocking a bike over and driving off"? "I said that must be the one". He then said he would burn a copy and give it to Human Resources as he was not allowed to give it straight to me. I did stop by the security office and they showed it to me. I then stopped by the police station and asked about getting in touch with the LEO that did the report as I had more information. The LEO gave me a call and I advised him it was on video and I would have a copy tomorrow. The LEO called me a little while ago and advised he was at redneck's house trying to get some information. The right fairing took a hard hit and both bags, one from the bumper and one from the curb. It also knocked the light bar to one side and the headlight cover is almost a half inch off center. It bent the engine guard into the water pump elbow, but did not hurt it. So, we will see what kind of insurance they have and go from there. Even though this is all fixable stuff for me, including the ghostflame paint job, I know this is going to be a big hassle. Please wish me luck. The LEO that did the report rides a Goldwing. RandyA
  20. So, I'm in my cage behind two crotch rockets, I see one guy doesn't have a helmet on. We've had the discussion - don't need to go there. I think it's silly but that's me. BUT - the guy also has sneakers on...I've been guilty a few times myself...BUT - he has shorts on...don't think I've ever done that. But by itself - not a capital offense...BUT he has no shirt on - I've NEVER done that. Looks like it could be painful...AND, as I sit behind him at the light, his rear tire is down to the steel belt - the ENTIRE circumference of the wheel. Is this a disaster waiting to happen or WHAT? I don't get it.

    Tis The Season

No...not for the jolly dude in red...what is the matter with you? Tis the season for the chili roasters. But out here...there is nothing finer than the smell of roasting chilis. Personally, I think they should bottle that smell so you can spritz a little in your car. Dang that is good stuff. Now I know this is a foreign concept to the folks back east. You know the ones...they break out in a sweat when they use a little black pepper. And flee in terror if someone walks a jalapeno through the dining room. But out here...we likes our sweat makin incredible tasting Hatch chilis. Wife and I were running some errands today and ran across a guy set up in the parking lot of a store. There is no hesitation...we were on that guy like a dog on a bone. Two bushels of roasted chilis. I am in heaven. The only down side is that I am the chili shucker. It might be a week or two before I can rub my eyes without blinding myself...but it is a small price to pay. Thanks for listening...gotta finish up the last of the chili shuckin.
  22. I'm kinda POd and wanted to vent a little so bear with me..........today, I happened to pull over a guy on a Vulcan. What attracted my attention was that he had no helmet on and NY is a helmet state (No debate here OK??). Anyway...the guy had come over on the ferry from New London CT (CT is a no helmet state) and rode about 15 miles without a helmet before I saw him. We chatted for a few minutes and I told him he had to get a helmet on before he could go. Nearest shop to get one was about 15 miles away. I told him to call wherever he was going and have someone pick one up for him. I didn't write him any summonses as he seemed to be decent enough (Just kinda dumb since he didn't check to see if the states he would be riding through required helmets) and I left. A few hours later I got called to a local body shop (right up the road from where I had stopped the guy)where one of the mechanics had parked his Harley in front of the shop when he got to work and when he went to go home...yup...his helmet was gone! One of the secretaries said a guy who matched my guys description walked into the shop and asked if there was anyplace he could get a helmet. He left and she heard his bike start up and leave. I can't believe that this POS would pull this stunt. I guess he doesn't realize that I have his plate number, as well as his picture from my in-car video. Needless to say he has a message on his answering machine and the local PD where he is destined was advised. Hopefully they'll catch him wearing the helmet and lock his sorry butt up. The nerve of some people.
  23. My wife noticed some writing on the back of the backrest yesterday as we headed out for a Sunday ride. Anybody else have this on their backrest? "WARNING This backrest is for solo riding only!" So, whats up with that? Is this just a CYA or should I be taking it off everytime she gets on? Iowa Guy
  24. This guy is really proud of his Dodge Intrepid. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-Trucks___MODIFIED-PIMPED-TRICKED-OUT-CAR-2002-DODGE-INTREPID_W0QQitemZ230279331005QQddnZCarsQ20Q26Q20TrucksQQddiZ2282QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item230279331005&_trkparms=39%3A1|65%3A10|240%3A1318&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245
  25. Looking for slip on exhaust for my 2006 RSTD. Does not seem to be many available for this model. Looks like BUB and maybe Sampson are my only options. Are there any more Manufacturers out there? I did run into a guy whose Venture sounded pretty good who said he pulled off the ends, drilled some holes. Any ideas?
