  1. Has anyone figured out how to bluetooth your radio and cb player to your bluetooth helmet. With any combination of cell phone gps etc?
  2. Does anyone have experience with the Motocrentic Bluetooth helmet Dennis Kirk sells for $237? I can't find any reviews. It uses the Blinc 3 bluetooth.
  3. I apologize, I don't know that much about the Bluetooth helmet headsets, but I like the flexibility with Bluetooth to connect to my phone, GPS, etc. Is there an interface to connect a Bluetooth helmet headset into the RSV intercom, stereo and CB? Being able to do away with that annoying headset cord would be awesome.
  4. Has anyone figured out how to use a bluetooth communications system (like the Cardo Scala G4) with more than 4 people. Like bluetoothing a fmr radio or something like that? I am working on converting a handle bar mounted CB like this. I was hopeing their was an eiser way. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=55849
  5. Bummer day Sunday. Had a new 660 all hard wired up to our RSTD. Wife and I wear the Scala G4 headsets. Updated software and firmware on all devices. I'm just relaying my experience. Not intended at all as a bashing on any product. We messed around and rode about 300 miles to test it out. I can't come up with any pro's at this time, so it's the cons that had me remove the tank and seat again last night to package the garmin zumo up for return. This was a new gps, not a refurb. 1. The screen was totally washed out. I understand there are aftermarket products made to shield or cover the screen. Not going there. For over 600 bucks, I should be able to view the screen in daylight. Being a motorcycle, my reason to purchase though was the bluetooth voice to headset ability. 2. Voice nav is crisp and clear in the car. Through the headsets, I experienced a lot of static and could not understand the street names or directions even around my neighborhood where I knew what the gps was supposed to be saying. Wife and I could not communicate through the intercom to each other clearly until I disabled the bluetooth on the gps. So for us, it's back to good ole' paper maps and spontaneous trips with more stops to rest our aging buttox numbness and point our fingers on the map to figure out where we're headed.
  6. Has anyone mounted your iphone to the handlebars? I’ve found the ads so I know they exist, my questions is more about your experience. Have there been any long term issues with vibrations? Are you worried about when it rains? Do you have it wired to the bikes electrical system for power? I am looking at getting an iphone 4 and also a Bluetooth headset (maybe scala, not sure yet). I have a Zumo 550 and am thinking I need to link the phone separately from the Zumo since the Zumo only does Bluetooth in mono, not stereo. So I woul This would require a headset that allowed for multiple connectionsd have the Zumo for traffic and Nav, and use the iphone for music and incoming only calls. Does the iphone need to be mounted for this purpose, or would it be better to keep either in my pocket or in the saddlebag with an external power source? My commute is about an hour each way.
  7. Looking to get intercom head sets for my 2009 RSV. The one Yamaha brands is about $300 but I've seen some for as little as $65. Quite the range in price. Any recommendations for/against particular brands/models? As much as I'd like to get a bluetooth head set that can tie into my Blackberry for cell and music I'd like to be able to use the existing audio system on the bike (radio/cb). I've considered using the Blackberry with a bluetooth/FM transmitter but don't see how that could combine with a head set. Any suggestions appreciated. Maybe the 2011 model will include bluetooth instead of a cassette ?
  8. I'm in the market for a new GPS. And I'm interested in the Nuvi 765T. My Question is. How is the Quality of the Build in MP3 and the Bluetooth...and is it easy to use these Features when you are riding. thanks
  9. I'm as dumb as a brick when it comes to anything bluetooth. Here's what I'm thinking about doing, and wanted to ask for input on whether it's even possible. I just picked up a Garmin Streetpilot c550 with bluetooth capabilities. It also has the MP3 player. What I wonder is... can I get the Garmin, and a helmet bluetooth head set, and my bluetooth cell phone to interphase with each other? The Garmin addresses the ability to link to the cell phone, but can the helmet set send and receive audio and be the primary controll???????? Anyone ever done this type of set up? I like the Garmin as it has the same sunlight screen as the Zumo550. It is smaller but easier to find a place on a crowded 1stGen dash. Any thoughts would be appreciated....
  10. Hey gang! I'm shopping for a new GPS- leaning toward the 550, but don't like that the price is higher than the model number! Right now I have a 360 (garmin car GPS) and it does work OK for me. Here's the question- What are the differences between units? I thought it would be nice to compile a list on the following issues for GPS: 1- Buddy Rich compatible?? (Y/N) does it allow you to use bike intercom system with BR cable if there's bluetooth? (question 6) yes/no 2- MP3? - (Y/N) plays mp3 files so you don't have to hook up your ipod? yes/no 3- XM/Serius/whatever (Y/N/A) - I don't wanna pay for radio, but lots of people love it!! yes/no/adapter required 4- Map updates - F/P Free or paid? 5- import online map routes? (y/n/3) yes, no, 3rd party product needed... Can it get routes off of gmaps, mapquest, downloaded into the unit so you can plan the trip before you go? 6- Bluetooth? (A/D/N) Answers only, dials also (integrated address book), or NO bluetooth for phone connections when riding... 7- Waterproof? (Y,B) Yes, or requires baggie!!! :-) Not sure what other features are needed... I really am most interested in 1, 2, and 5,6... 4 would be nice if they were free!!! Don't care much about 3. Any other important features Missing?
  11. I commute on the bike and am off and on several times a day. I find the headset cord a pain and I go through a couple of them a year. Does anyone make a bluetooth system that would work with the existing radio system? I'm thinking of something like a bluetooth transmitter dongle that could plug into the bike's original headset connector and a reciever that would mount in helmet. I would like to eliminate the headset cord. Maybe I should patent that idea! Dennis
  12. Another new one for bikes: The Garmin 220. http://www.thegpsstore.com/Garmin-Zumo-220-Motorcycle-Navigation-System-P2326.aspx [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-3-5-Inch-Bluetooth-Portable-Navigator/dp/B0035JERXY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1269021580&sr=8-2]Amazon.com: Garmin zumo 220 3.5-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator: Electronics@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51O63gbSLyL.@@AMEPARAM@@51O63gbSLyL[/ame]
  13. Just curious if anyone is using a bluetooth adapter?? Have seen some and was curious of your situation... Have one of those Motorola Droids and internet music on the FUTURE purchased bike would be great... I need this bike..
  14. I bought a Tom Tom 920 off Craigslist today for only 80 bucks! Has bluetooth, mp3 player, and much more. I think I did well!!! Now to get a mount for the cycle!!!
  15. I'm planning to purchase a Garmin 765T. Does anyone have this unit hardwired? And is there a way you can use your Bluetooth phone with this system in combination with a headset.
  16. Has anyone tried one of these? What do you think of it? http://walmart.ca/Canada-Automotive.jsp?selection=listingDetails&assetId=45271&imageId=62669&departmentId=225&categoryId=1559&tabId=14
  17. The new law requiring the use of hands-free cellular accessories in Ontario takes effect next month and as a result I am investigating the various Bluetooth car kits available. Does anyone have any experience or comments on any of the models available? Not looking to open a discussion about the law...asking about the equipment.
  18. Has anyone found a way to connect a bluetooth telephone to the sound system on a RSV without using a Zumo 550? While I use a Zumo, my brother just bought a RSV and would like to have access to his telephone but has no interest in a GPS. Is there a way? Dennis
  19. Hi guys n gals: I'm thinking of getting the Zumo 550 and am also considering an iPhone. Has anyone got this combo? Does the iPhone Bluetooth sync up with the Zumo? Can you answer a call if you need to? Wayne
  20. I Have a garmin nuvi bluetooth GPS installed on my 04 rsv. Does anyone know how I can hook this up thru my comm sys so I can recieve ? make calls on the go. Any and all help is greatly appreciated
  21. Does any know if the Buddy Rich cable will work with any bluetooth GPS. It seems the only GPS mentioned is the Zumo series. If not, does anyone know how I can hook up with a bluetooth phone
  22. No Costco in this part of the country, but I saw this on another forum. http://www.costco.com/Browse/ProductSet.aspx?Prodid=11484112&whse=BC&Ne=4000000&eCat=BC|3960|51294&N=4015644&Mo=12&No=1&Nr=P_CatalogName:BC&cat=51294&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDesc1&lang=en-US&Sp=C&topnav= V-Can Modular Helmet with Built-in Blinc Bluetooth System DOT Approved $189.99
  23. Anybody had any luck making an adapter 2 use a cell phone style headset with the existing 5 pin intercom? What i would really like to do is add a headphone bluetooth adapter to the driver and passenger connection and be able to use or cell headsets.
  24. I just purchased these [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Motorcycle-Bluetooth-Multi-Interphone-headsets/dp/B001SUZNGW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1242399404&sr=8-4]Bluetooth Headsets[/ame] and will be installing them into my new GMAX helmets. These appear to be fairly new on the market, could only find a couple reviews. I am going to be using them extensively over the next couple weeks, should be able to post a review in early June. We needed new headsets, ours are old and don't work well anymore. I also wanted to lose the wires. There is a huge range of prices on the bluetooth sets....most are above what I'm willing to pay. These are about the same price as lower-end wired units. I'm just hoping that they work as advertised and as the minimal reviews stated. I'll let you know! Joe
  25. Hey everyone. Great forum! I'm shopping for headsets for my wife and I. I've been looking at the J&M 279's (we both have modulars. I've also been intrigued by the bluetooth headsets. I love the idea of being able to use my phone, however, I would like to tie into the onboard system as well. I ride solo a lot on several different bikes. Is there a bluetooth headset that also integrates with the onboard intercom and my wifes hardwired heaset? Thanks!
