  1. me snarley ? no way. i don't know where allanh came up with that name. i'm just a go with the flow nice guy and i never up no trouble. just don't have it in me. :rotf::rotfl:
  2. bought a new garmin nuvi 200 gps for my wing and just installed it. looks factory and it was cheap. don't have all the bells and whistles but it will get me where i aim it. hope i can hear it cuz it don't have an audio output jack. thats the only draw back. i need to get another power cord and mount so i can switch it over to my vstar.
  3. met up with mo river rat (chris), this morning for coffee. a really nice guy and a real biker. he lives about 3 miles from me, so wrongway (allanh), and i have a new riding partner. now we just need some warm weather. bill
  4. don. there's three things you have to overcome when quitting smoking. the first is clearing your system of the nicotine, and your system getting adapted to the lack of it. this takes a few weeks. the second is the habit of having one in your mouth and reaching for them. this takes longer. the third is the memory of how good they were. this takes a long time. you have got through the hardest part. remember this. is you take one drag ,you blew it. you might as well go back to smoking, cuz you failed to maintain that needed self control. don't even take that one drag, and don't touch one at all. stay away from the smell as much as possiple. when you even think about a cigarette change your train of thought to something else like bikes. you can do it. hang in there. your almost over the hump. bill
  5. why don't one of you kentucky guys put a fall meet together down there, like about 3 days. you could make it coincide with the st. jude ride to memphis in sept.. it will take way more than one day to take in all the sites.it takes half a day just to see the horse park. it would be the last hoorah of the season. just a thought. i would consider doing it but i got to many meets going now. i would be glad to help someone all i can. bill
  6. darn thats a tight time. that pretty close to my st. charles meet and dons maintenance day. but don't let that stop you. bill
  7. what you need to do is find someone in ky. to help with accomodations and routes. you don't have to live there to put the meet on. i have put the ar. meet on the last 2 yr.s and am heading up the 09 rally this year, and live in mo. brad put on the fort collins meet and lives in detroit. believe me the help will come out of the walls and so will the people. you just have to bite the bullet and do it. more fun than you can imagine. if you decide to do it i will help in any way i can. in my spare time. lol. bill
  8. go for it put a meet together. we will come. make it long enough to make it worthwhile for people to come the distance. been there several times and it is one beautiful area. linda and i were thinking about a trip to the horse park in lexington this summer to see the latest retired horses. a meet and eat a couple of days long is fairly easy to do. if you need suggestions just ask. i put a meet on every year in st. charles, mo. not a real big deal but we have a great time. bill ps. don't make it to close to the big meets.
  9. if i lose my sirius radio, i may contemplate suicide. or something even more drastic. what will i do? if they would get rid of that piece of crap howard stern they could solve all their financial problems. :cool10:
  10. i was wondering why i keep getting channel updates on my receivers. never thought about the merger. bill
  11. linda and i will be praying for pete's full recovery. glad to here the doctor has a good prognosis and pete is in good spirits. bill
  12. i've got three sirius radios at $6.99 each per month. they are going to raise them to $8.99 per month unless i buy a long term plan for them. not sure what i'm going to do yet. don't want to do with out them. will probably just do what i'm doing and eat the price increase.
  13. mini, thats a great idea. guess since it's dons meet all the planning is pretty much up to him. i'm just coming to socialize and see my good friends. really looking forward to the trip there and the socializing. don't have any repair work to be done but i am more than willing to help with anything. really looking forward to it. bill
  14. now i can afford gas for my bikes too.
  15. i refer to them as a hole in the pasture you throw money into. seriously i still love horses. we showed quarter horses for years. had a boarding barn and did alot of horse trading untill a few years ago. even had a tack shop for awhile. trained a lot of horses, but had to face the fact i just ain't as agile as i once was. when i started making money with the horses it seemed like the fun started going away. it became a job like anything else than. bill
  16. okay buddy, i know your lurking. post something so we know your okay. you were here yesterday according to my detective work. so let us know whats new. bill
  17. ya, i agree it's to bad those other idiots out there have a mind of their own. just wish they were capable of using it. maybe we could relax and enjoy the ride.
  18. even though there are hard times i got a great raise today. about $150.00 dollars a month. i turned my wifes hay burner (horse) out in the pasture. we had to put her in a stall for the winter cuz of an injury to her hoof. my wife loves her , i look at her as 1000 lbs. of meat when i move into my refridgerator box, and i don't have to shovel those little oval horse things anymore. oh happy day. :clap2: ps. really i do like horses just getting a little old to ride and train them any more. you think a bike will fold spindle and mutilate you, just train horses for awhile. i've got broken ribs and a collar bone to prove it.
  19. my gold wing was made in ohio. what really amazed me the quality is the best i have ever seen. a harley has alot of foreign parts. like the shocks ,forks, injection, electronics, and no telling what else. my ford ranger is basically a mazda. nothins sacred anymore. you have to do what you can afford to do. i have mitutoya digital micrometers. in my work nothing else will do they are the best. i have no choice with the tolerances we hold. i would probably be out of a job if i used my starrett mikes 100%. scrap parts are not tolerated. bill
  20. don, i'm definatly not one of those reformed smokers that preaches, but make me proud of you and hang in there. you will beat it. i quit when i was 40. i had a heart attack. i know i would be dead by now cuz i have a touch of emphizema. and get a little short on breath. i have no urge for one and don't even remember how good it was.lol. sorry to here about your stroke and will be praying for you. listen to that wake up call it's no joke good buddy. bill
  21. just could'nt pass on that one it was too easy. i guit smoking about 45 years ago. best move i ever made. just think of it like this it could be a payment on a new bike, or free gas for a month, groceries ,etc. a friend of mine and his wife were trying to quit last month. there back to smoking again. i told him your smoking the payment on your new harley. he just bought one last year.
  22. a venture royal, a harley, and a v-star 1300. talk about looking like three misfits. we did have a great ride even though we were all riding those weird bikes. tried to get dan to check out our site but he does'nt have a computer. he did have a beautiful heritage softtail classic. anyway we did get to mellow out some of the cabin fever.
  23. i think your getting to be a royalpain. :rotf::rotfl:
  24. i'm ready, hope to get some riding in this weekend. bill
