  1. just a little plug for lewis from one who has been there done that and doing it again. vogel is a meet not to miss. lewis really does it right and it is some awesome riding, and some of the most beautiful scenery there is. i've been there the last two times and always look forward to going back. not to mention the neatest tshirts of all the meets. hope to see a bunch there. bill:clap2:
  2. mine is coming. just got to take the time to sit down and fill it out, and get it in the mail. i'm figuring on staying the duration. lewis i got a question. i will be sleeping in a tent. does it get cool at night? will i need my blankie? i can't remember. i want to travel as light as i can. bill
  3. don't worry gal your on the good side. hopefully the ahole has got the big problems coming up. they don't like his kind in prison.
  4. lewis, i need two large green shirts. my registration and check will be in the mail this week. bill
  5. my rstd seat was not very comfy. i went to a road sofa it was much better. had a corbin on it for a week. it probably would have been the best by far, but i did'nt give it a chance. i have had many corbins got one on my v-star now. for me they are the best. soft is not always better. the corbin is firm but gives total support kind of like a tractor seat. you don't sit on the boys or your tail bone. if you try a corbin give it a thousand miles or so to let the memory foam get to fit you. bill
  6. if they are leds just pack them on, all you want. i had alot of running lights on mine when i had it, no relay, no problem. i sure do like alot of lights. bill
  7. you ain't had no fun till you blow these people off with a majesty 400 scooter. i do it all the time. i probably race 2 or three cars every time i ride. neat thing is no one else knows your racing. i don't pick on the porches., not unless i got the big guns with me.
  8. i love arkansas, if i was younger i would live there. i spend alot of time down there cuz i love it and the local folks. only place that equals it in the usa for riding is the states that have the luxury of the smokie mountains. you don't have to wear shoes in ar. what more can i say. like cindy and don said this is a no miss meet. you ain't lived till you see eureka springs. this has got to be the tourism state of the usa. if you come to the meet you will want to come back. we want to see you all there.
  9. thanks for the good words. bill
  10. try www.mchitch.com . really quality hitch and an easy bolt on.
  11. got my new hitch installed on my v-star this morning, sand blaster called and my trailer frame is ready to paint. la pryor called the other night. got to get him fixed, and we will be ready to head for vogel. by the way everyone say a little prayer for la, he's going to the doc monday. i am praying that the news is good. hopefully some rest and medication will fix him up. sounds like he has what i've been fighting for the last four years. not to mention we are a couple of old farts. la said he will be at the 09 rally if he has to cage it. we got a campsite reserved at vogel. got to get some of ecks free coffee. god willing we will be there. bill ps. can't even tell that new hitch is back there. :rotf:
  12. he's only seen the dim light. the big beam comes when you move to the top. can you say goldwing :clap2: :rotf:
  13. just my usual reminder. the tshirt and meal notification deadline is approaching. 9am, july 13th. after that you can still register but may not get your t-shirts at the 09 rally. i have to notify randall who is catering the meal at the hub so he knows how many people he will have to have food for, at least 3 weeks in advance. i know quite a few people that are coming that haven't registered. if your not going to resgiter till the last minute, at least participate in cindy's poll in the sticky at the top of the watering hole. don't vote in the poll if you have already registered. also don't tell us you can't make. we just want to know who is planning on coming. we, the commitee are trying to avoid getting overrun at the last minute. we want ever thing ready to go when you'all get there. thanks. bill
  14. hey brad did you get my paypal transfer for my overage penalty? just want to make sure you got what i owe for my failer to lose the weight.
  15. i have an extra wing rear wheel. i was thinking of turning the inside of the rim on a cnc tuning center to match the id and shape of a car rim. when la was here a couple of weeks ago i was noticing the rear radial he has on his kaw. when he leaned pulling out of my driveway it looked like the radial gave him a good contact patch. having several bikes, i'm getting tired of changing rear tires all the time. not to mention it ain't cheap. some of the wing guys are getting 50 k out of the car tires. since i have an extra wheel and i can change the rear wheel out on my wing in no time i might try it. the main thing i have against car tires is the dangerous pressure needed to seat it. if it don't fit the rim ,that to me is just not safe. la said he uses stp and it slips right on and off. i think modifying the rim so it is right is the only right and safe way to do it.
  16. i agree if he had the right size hinged ones, they won't move. i thought i had an extra set of kury 1 1/8 hinged ones here. i will have to see if i can find them.
  17. no, the bar should be just fine. thats the way i would fix it if it was mine, and if you get the stainlees round head screws it will be hardly noticable. solid as a rock. you could stand on them. if you hit hard enough to bend the bar the bike will be the least of your problems. bill
  18. we sure would like to have you at the 09 rally, cindy is going to need help keeping all us old farts in line.
  19. inner tube won't work. go to autozone or sears, and get a 1/4-20 tap and the right size tap drill and drill a hole through the clamp and bar. tap the hole, and put a stainless steel cap screw and lock washer in the hole. they will never move again. you can get the stainless cap screw at home depot.
  20. i'm trying to get garth brooks, or george strait for the entertaiment. they haven't had time to return my call. i called them last november. it's first come first serve. who ever calls first gets the job. :cool10:
  21. just noticed don has registered. it is an official meet now , and we will all have to be good. just a reminder, when you all register if you don't see your name on the list don't worry it won't appear till cindy updates it. lots of activity starting up now. i'm getting alot of pm's and lots of people donating prizes for the drawing. get your riding gear ready. it's going to be a good one. see you all there.:clap2: snarley bill
  22. no misprint, i cut 21 1/2 inches out of the frame width.the overall tread width will be about 30".
  23. love tattoos, just can't afford them. the ones i got cost $18.00 50 years ago. went to get one a couple of years ago and he told me $600.00. no more tattoos for me. glad you made it home okay.
  24. you are right there. when i turned 60 i think someone turned my switch off. still trying to do the young stuff and my wheels just keep spinning. sure wish i would have took care of this old body. who would have ever thunk i would be this old. :cool10:
