  1. God bless all of you on this very special day, to all that serve, have served and have given their life for this country. I salute you for your bravery and commitment to this great country and the freedoms that you defend. God Bless and God's speed to you all! Bubber
  2. I havn't tried any of the sleep aids either, but I agree with saltydag. when I go to sleep I start to dream immediately and I dream all night long. That doesn't make for a very restful sleep. Always tired during the day. I think it has to do with the stress and other things that are going on in your life that you just can't seem to shut them off when you go to sleep. Good luck with a cure. PS Three fingers of Jack Daniels is sounding pretty good.

    How long

Back in the 50's we had a home made mini bike and I do mean home made. frame was made of water pipe and that my dad welded up. Engine was a horizontal Briggs and Stratton. I spent more time working on it than riding it. In my teens I had a BSA, it wasn't made for the road so it didn't have lights or tail lights. So I hooked up a battery powered tail light. I can honestly say that that bike was the biggest piece of crap I ever saw. It never ran right and was always trying to self destruct. Bought a Harley Super Glide for Christmas back in 1973 had it three years and sold it for more money than I paid for it. Those were the days. Then I bought a 77 Goldwing. back when they were pretty stripped down. Smoothest bike I have ever been on. Never put many miles on it because of kids and life and work. Shame on me I missed out on a lot. I sold it to the guy that moved me from MA. to Minnesota. A few years later I bought a couple of damaged VStar 1000s and a nice VTX1300. Fixed the 1100s and traded the 1100 and the VTX in on my Venture. Then sold the other 1100 to my brother in law and been burying mony in the Venture making it mine. OH ya back in the day 1968 or so I bought a Harley Knuckle head in a basket. I lugged that thing all over creation and then on day my wife said to me "How are you going to kick that thing over with your bad knees" Don't ya just hate it when ya hear something like that and yo know she was 100% right. Pi$$ed me off. I had that thing for over 35 years and I just now figured it out that I would never be able to ride it. So Ifound a kid (35) that wanted it and I told him don't even come to look at it if he wasn't going to pay my asking price. He showed and of cource he tryied to dicker me down. I nicely asked him to leave and I told him that there would be a line out side my door tomarrow for the Knuckle. He came back and coughed up all the money in cash. Counted out each bill as he dug it out of his pockets and laid it in my hand. I made him promise that once he finished it he would bring it by so I could ride just once. He was looking to put it back to it's original stock. so I felt pretty good selling it to him and knew he would take good care of it. SO that is my story and I am sticking to it. Bubber

  13. Any insight on welding ABS plastic? Equipment used? Brand, Model #... so on and so forth. Airless or air? I am looking at an airless with temp control and was wondering if anyone here has some experience. I have done bodywork back in the day, I weld and have the patience to to these kind of repairs. Just thought I would ask the group for their advice. Bubber aka Steve

    Ft. Hood

Let me be the first to jump in here. This forum first and foremost ain't about hate. So don't go there. We are not sure about anything yet so let it play out and get the facts straight. I am so sorry for the people and soldiers of Fort Hood and the victims families. If whats his face did this he sure isn't going to like going to a military prison because he won't last long. We can only hope that justice will be served and that he will get his. For those people that don't like it here in America please return to that great place you came from. (deleted the next few sentences so that I don't become part of the problem) Bubber aka Steve

Other than that did you have fun? Sorry to hear about your mis-ad-Venture but I think everyone has done something like that to remember years later. I am sure we all asked ourselves what was I thinking. Now that you have your misadventure out of the way there is nothing but blue skies in your future. .......I hope! Glade your safe and sound and not so cold. Bubber

  24. I would like to make a proposition if I may? I would hate to see this posting die and all the hard work that sgn and dingy have done to date. May I suggest that the donation be set at a minimum of $10.00 for the cause if that is acceptable to sgn and dingy. With that said let me be the first to order a copy of the second gen latest version of the wiring diagram. sgn if you would let us know how and where to send the donation that would be great. Maybe put that info in the original post???? Thanks to both of you for doing this for the membership of Venturriders. Bubber aka Steve I will send my address via PM
  25. I agree, not hard to build but cost of 1" sq tube is a killer. It could easily be fab'ed up but how many would need or want one. Back in the day, I took a Harley bent up frame and cut off all the tubes except for around the mounts and added legs. This held the engine up and steady to be able to work on it on the bench. Turning it over like on a car engine stand was a whole different animal. I would be willing to try it with some guidance and financial backing. I am only familiar with the 2nd Gen so I have no need for the stand. Bubber
