1. They all play dumb at first...
2. I haven't had my '06 very long (just over a year and 18000 kilometers) ... I've had my outer fairing off numerous times and no evidence of cracking anywhere. What I have noticed I think it was the 2nd time re-installing it ... is that you can get it mis-aligned and this improper installation may well be the cause of these mounting locations cracking....???
3. Did a bit of digging/comparing and another thing I've found is that, for example, a 130/90-16 Front tire will have a smaller tread depth than the same sized Rear tire.
4. yup... and most definately false is the part about us "liking to pay taxes" !!!
5. Well guys.... seems I opened up an interesting topic for discussion here. I now am considerably more educated...thanks!
6. Other than size, what would differentiate a front tire from a rear tire?? For example, a 130/90-16 tire ... what would make it be a front versus a rear?
7. In order to stop it from "always ask", you first have to un-check the box and then either Open it or Save it. choosing Cancel (which is what I do) will not save that setting and I am not about to Open or Save it. further, since it is a PDF file which I often download PDF files for other purposes, if I uncheck the box, the next time this particular file comes to me (the "banner.pdf"), it will either download or open, depending on what I chose for the last valid PDF. DON'T WANT THAT! The reason a person leaves that checked is for situations such as this so that when something suspiscious tries to come in, you CAN CANCEL IT.
8. I don't use any of the myriad of toolbars and add-ons ... if any get installed by "accident", I uninstall them.. hate all that crap LOL only have what comes with the browser ... no Google toolbar, no Yahoo toolbar, no nuffin. Only plug-in's are what is absolutely necessary for general browsing.
9. If it can run comfortably 2-up and loaded at 80mph is fast enuf. Let the Wings blow by me...who cares... I'll still get there albeit 5 minutes later LOL
10. I used "over-the-counter" spray can stuff I got from an auto paint store (high quality). I changed the seat on my '87 from that dark brown color to a medium grey ... had no issues with it over 2 years, then sold the bike. I doubt Sylvester will have any such issues as this stuff literally re-colors the material.
11. "fancy emoticons"... haha not this old boy! been around computers much too long for that. And I already done the google thing you posted. What is curious to me is that it only appears while I'm on this site and it happens both here at work as well as at home. I'll be watching for any variance of this ... been doing it for a couple days now and it's quite random and happens only a couple times or so during a day and sometimes not every day. As for "clicking on it"... like I said... been around computers much too long to get caught by that old trick.
12. I've done some Googling but not much info ... it appears to have hosted malware tho. http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=img121.imagehacks.info
13. It's random ... happens here at work and also on my home PC ... and only while browsing around on this site.
14. I recently got the Roxio VHS-DVD package for converting my 8mm "handy-cam" tapes... works great but yes, it has to play them in "real-time" while doing the conversion process. Price was $39.95 (on sale) here in Vancouver, Canada.
15. Great Idea ... might change mine now!
16. Every so often while browsing around on this site, the following pops up... anyone have any ideas??... anyone else getting it??
17. Thanks Gary... I've been wondering how this was done.
18. Sylvester ... what did you use to color them?
19. I couldn't get a "top" shot due to the aux light switches being in the way. I tried to put them in the way you did but it seemed to be too tight and I was concerned about cracking the inner fairing or something like that.
20. That's the best shot I could get Wally. Yes, they are wedged in there ... I think they are upside-down and that's what provides the "wedge" between the handlebar and the fairing. I remember that it was a tight fit and they've been there now for a whole summer of riding.
21. A few pics of how I installed my rubbers.... (mind outta da gutter boyz!) Had to leave room for the aux light switches.
22. hmmmm... mine were just pressure-fitted and there was no way I could get them back in the same way after installing the risers as it was just too tight between the handlebars and the back of the fairing. I forgot to look at them last night so will try and remember tonight and to snap a pic of how I put mine back in.
23. come to Vancouver, BC ... no snow here!! (except on the mountains and even there is is disappearing)
24. Interesting ... thanks ... and are you running a 150 front?
25. Thanks Eck ... the info re: the 130 is exactly what I was looking for.
