6. There was snow where I wasn't expecting it .... oh well, we had a great time anyway!
7. I think we need an actual forum named "Generation Bashing" so that when someone see's the opportunity to turn a decent thread into a 1st/2nd gen bashing, they can go there and allow this thread to stick to the topic. Oh wait..... that would be no fun at all then, would it?? :rotf:
8. Over the winter I had reported that what I thought was a dealer installed I-basket (last July) actually was a G-basket. I complained to the dealer and eventually got an I-basket which eliminated almost all of the whine. A few of you commented that you were thinking about pulling your clutch basket to verify whether or not you do or don't have an I-basket (when you felt that you do). Just wondering if anyone has followed through and what was discovered?
9. Check this link http://www.venturerider.org/modules/history/index.php 1st gen is 83-93 (made up of MK I 83-85 and MK II 86-93) 2nd gen is 96-2010 (acutally 99-2010 but I included the "Tour" model which I think started in 96 ??)
10. :rasberry: I ain't talkin about how I lost mine neither!
11. OK FINE!!! I'll use my grandfather's hand-crank one then...
12. And we just got GOLD ... men's moguls yeeeaaawwwwww!!!
13. OK, I've read the original thread on this as well as all the posts here .... I can't understand what y'all are talking about. I've never experienced this issue about air escaping and bubbling gas out and have not had a problem filling the tank to the top... am I missing something? I will say that when I do fill up, I run the gas in slowly once it gets close to the top...maybe that's the difference? Oh yeah... I just remembered...you guys in the US have very different gas pump nozzles than we do up here and I now recall it was always a PITA using them.
14. Make him Tim "the Toolman" Taylor !
15. I bought a thin-walled deep socket from somewhere...Canadian Tire I think.
16. If I were to get a TAT, it would be a gift certificate for my son coz he's a TATer ... I'm not! I like em...on other people but I ain't coverin up one millimeter of this beautiful bod!!
17. Wayne Gretsky was the person who lit the cauldron! Nina & I watched the whole thing on TV and thought it was absolutely amazing! One of the greatest parts of it all was that the 1st nations were a big part of it. Awesome job...make me proud to be a Canuck! :thumbsup2:
18. If I recall correctly, oil pressure at idle with engine hot is around 5psi so yes, the gauge needle will sit pretty low. When you first start the bike, pressure will go up to around 60 and stay there for a while until the engine is warmed up. All normal.
19. Your bike (2004 I believe) is no longer covered under warranty so my advice would be to purchase the basket and do the swap yourself. It's not that difficult and there's lots of tech info on how to do this here as well as the proper part number is listed.

21. and a lotta good that will do i figure  seems there's never a lack of money when it comes to these kinda things!
22. Like you, I have been reading postings about others being able to ride during "winter months" and it's hard to take when it's too cold or wet or snowy outside. I feel for ya bud ... but your time is comming! Today was "my time" ... even took the day off work cos that PMS was really affecting my work performance (or so I told the boss LOL).
23. Yeeehaaaa!! First ride of the year!! Man did that feel great! PMS all gone (for a few days at least!) Brand new 130/90 front tire... what a difference!! Scoot handles so much better at low speed although it does tend to track a bit differently at highway speed. No more whine since the "I" basket went in ... just the bark of the RK's and some good tunes commin out of the XM is all I heard. yeeeeehhhhhaaaaaaaa! Snapped a shot parked at White Rock ... look at that calm water and blue sky! Luv It ! (am I pumped or what?)
24. I like to bite and chew the hard ice cream just to make those with "real teeth" cringe with envy LOL ... that and ice cubes... yummmmmm crunch crunch!! watch out for the brain freeze!! LOL
25. According to what I've been able to find out, Sea-bond Denturite has been discontinued and what is still available is left-over stock that will quickly be gone. I did find another product but no place I know of here in the West Coast of Canada sells it. http://www.shopinprivate.com/ac2tedere.html The wife has been buggin me for about 3 years now to get new ones since mine are so old ... mebbe this is a "sign" ?? Might be worth it just to get her to stop pesterin me LOL (just kiddin honey)
