  1. I have hit 110 + on the speedo with two up passing harleys! think that gets their attention:whistling:
  2. I don't know if I'm out of line by offering these or not, but I am a cellular phone dealer and have come across a great set of quality headphones. They have great sound, braided cables, several different earpieces to fit any ear(and keep the wind out), mic for cellphone usage, 3.5 mm jack to fit most cells and Ipods. If anyone would like a set I can offer them to our group for 49.99. I'm not set up for paypal -would have to be money order or cks. If interested you can email at vtludwig@ctcweb.net
  3. yeah, I took a 900 mile trip last weekend and I figured out how to get over 60 mpg. All you have to do is ride down hill!
  4. Doesn't anyone live west of the Continental Divide? Go Boise State!
  5. I logged over 20,000 miles on my k1200lt before I sold the bike and bought my current RSV. I had absolutely no problems with the BMW. I installed footboards on the bike after my first long ride and that made a huge difference. Bike is heavy, but the second it starts rolling you would never know it. It would make my back hurt after riding several hours( I never did purchase a driver backrest) so I would put a large backpack loaded behind me for support. Accessories are more expensive and dealers are few and far between, but like I said never really had the need for one. I sold mine and bought the RSV because I could work on the RSV myself and liked the more traditional look better. Good luck with your decision, sure you'll love it if you get it.
  6. I think its pretty much been said above, but I'll throw my two cents in. They are all great bike with issues of their own. I now have a 07 RSV, but have owned both Harley and BMW. Have a friend that rides a wing. The longer that I ride my RSV the better I like it. Fits me better and I love the look, ride and sound. Ride what you like and don't worry about what others say. Opinions are like *******s-everyone has one and most of them stink!
  7. if you kept the tall wind shield they are simple to cut down. there is a thread on this site showing how its done. I cut mine down this morning, only took a half hour from start to finish.
  8. why don't you let the dealership replace it for you, The bike should still under warranty. My dealer has ordered in several baskets to try in my bike. I'll be taking it in next week, we'll see which ones works in my 07
  9. had a k1200lt sold it for the classic look of the rsv, so would have to stay with a hd ultra
  10. I bought a set of high quality earphones for my ipod, let her whine! I know that some feel its not safe to ride with earphones, but I feel I can still hear well enough and it eliminates the annoying whine!
  11. Just wanted to say thanks for the tip on the Barons bar extensions, installed mine this weekend( simple if you loosen brake control) and took my first ride with them on. Wow, total comfort! Bike fits me perfect now.
  12. the end weight unscrews from the bar but there is a threaded piece in the bar the the weight screws to. it appears to be glued in, not sure its factory but the weights look just like the pictures on the net of 07s. I assumed because of the picture it was. sounds like they may not be factory. I contacted heat demons but have yet to hear from them.
  13. Good morning everyone! Has anyone installed heat demons on their bike? When I went to install them the factory handlebar weights are in the way. Just checking to see what options I have before drastic measures:think:
  14. thanks for all the input. I went for a 160 mile ride today, longest since I've owned the bike. I can run in 5th at 60, just maintaining my speed still get a lot of vibration, doesn't smooth out till 65. My BMW was a 4 cylinder as well so have a pretty good idea for that feel. I'm taking the carb suggestion, see if that helps.
  15. no, it had 6,800 miles on it. doesn't run smooth on flat ground (you can feel it and see the mirrors shake) in 5th like I stated before until I get over 65. I'll check the temp of the pipes today thanks for that tip
  16. Well its morning and I'm headed out for another test ride, but from what I heard it should be smooth running just not a rocket in 5th. I really feel that its lugging and also a lot of vibration until I hit about 65 then it smooths out. If doesn't feel better after todays ride I'll take it into the shop for a tune up
  17. Guess I had better slip on the leathers in the morning and take a good long ride! Will just have to get use to the new gearing and sound, probably not turning as many rpms as I was thinking just a different( better) sound. Thanks for the info guys.
  18. now I'm starting to wonder. Sure seems to have a lot of vibration in 5th when going under 65.
  19. appreciate the info, I'm sure I'll be talking with you all again. Love the look of the RSV thats why I bought it, now just need to learn more about the bike. So, from what you all are saying I should be in 4th until 65 or higher.
  20. thanks, I have been riding a BMW k1200lt and it had a tach, was much easier to tell what the engine was doing. Am enjoying the new bike but still trying to figure out my gear selection at highway speeds.
  21. just bought a 07 RSV and am wondering about rpms at highway speeds. Seems to lug along in 5th at 60 and barley smooths out at 65. Should I still be in 4th at 60?
