  1. Under the battery box. Sometimes a little tight to get in and out. Mike
  2. Nice looking bike Tom. As for price, the bike is worth whatever value you put on it. Mike
  3. Why would Yamaha build what it's customers want when it can build what Yamaha wants? Makes perfect sense to me. Mike
  4. Gets great fuel economy too. http://deals.ebay.com/5002486129_Kids_Ride_On_Motorcycle_6V_Toy_Battery_Powered_Electric_3_Wheel_Power_Bicyle_Red Mike
  5. It is possible although unlikely. Brake fluid usually leaks at a master cylinder or slave / wheel cylinder. You should be able to check these to see if they are wet. What is in the vicinity of your smoke? I suppose fluid could be running down a hose and dripping off. Stuff dripping on the exhaust pipe is never good. So spend some time to track it down. Mike
  6. It should run when cold. Did you have the choke on? Sometimes people disconnect the carb heaters. Which are useful when the temp dips below the carb freeze up point. Mike

    Blizzzard

Hope everyone weathers the blizzard ok. Mike
  8. Good point Du-Rron. This is one of those items that should be lubed frequently. Mike
  9. Both are very nice looking bikes. Enjoy. Mike
  10. Have to say I am with cowpuc on this. Rent one for a couple od days or a short trip. That will take a lot of the worry out of buying. A friend I ride with has a 2013. He loves it. But he has had some costly issues with it including an engine rebuild. These don't phase him. He loves the bike. His is the 110 Screaming Eagle. Power wise it seems comparable to my Venture with the V-max gears. It does seem more nimble and has all of the bells and whistles. Mike
  11. Mark I had over 17K miles on them when I got hit by a car and totaled the bike. I seem to recall having pretty good tread still remaining. I can't guess what that would have equated to in miles because tires seam to wear faster on the bottom. The replacement Venture I purchased came with nearly new Dunlops. Which buy the way I like just fine. Mike
  12. Wow. Thank you guys for all of your hard work. The Mt. St.Helens area is also a good choice. It brings Mt Rainier, Sunrise, Mt.ST Helens, Crystal Mountain and several mountain passes into play. It is also accessible from most directions. Mike
  13. The Exedra Max is a different bird than the regular Exedra. I have used the Max and they were very good. Watch the tread depth as two different tires are available. I have not used the e3 so I cannot make the comparison for you. I can say the Exedra Max comes in the correct size and load rating. I can also say the set I had on my Venture worked out very very well. Mike
  14. Before I got to excited I would check to make sure the valve cover bolts are tight. Just saying. Mike
  15. Yes. Lots of ways to test the pump. I like to tee in a vacuum/pressure gauge at the petcock or carburetor so I can see what is going on while the bike is running. As in just before it dies. But that is just me. Everyone has their own methods. Mike
  16. Remove the gas cap and see if the bike runs. There have been issues with the vent being plugged. Tee a vacuum pressure gauge into the fuel line at the petcock. That should tell you if the pump is working. Ok at least put a vacuum gauge on the fuel line and turn the key on You should hear the clicking and read a vacuum. Mike
  17. David I have those air vents on my Venture. I love um as well. I have found that I have to turn some helmets on their side to fit in my trunk. So try repositioning yours. It may help. Mike
  18. Under no circumstances are you to buy a Mustang convertible. They are way to much fun for you to handle. First thing you know you will be out driving the car instead of riding the bike. Good Luck and Enjoy. Mike
  19. Larry Glad to hear you are going to be ok. Next time don't wait. GO TO THE ER IMMEDIATELY. I had a friend who had similar symptoms on Christmas eve last year. He died in bed early Christmas morning. You see he didn't go to the ER. We live in an age of miraculous medicine. We just have to be wise enough to take advantage of it. Mike
  20. That rumor was started by the CIA in cooperation with the KGB to counter the rising popularity of Indian motorcycles. Mike
  21. When riding with several other bikes it is hard to communicate with all of them on Blue Tooth. On the other hand it is difficult to call home with the CB. Mike
  22. Mwhorton Your post is worthy of it's own thread. I almost missed it buried in this old posting. The clutch switch is located near the light and mic switches. It is wired through the main switch, back-up fuse and starter cutout relay. As such a short or open affecting one of these circuits can cause weird things to happen. The post recommending a wiggle test is very valid. Also continuity test the switch. Wiring diagrams are available in the tech section. Good Luck Mike
