  1. Their website has a list of blems available. I thought about it - but wasn't sure what I was getting so I spent the extra bucks for a nonblem item. I don't know if they are offering 10% off their blem windshields. Check out their website or call them.
  2. I ordered one today. I had one on my previous Venture and loved it! Now for the warm weather to show up!!!
  3. Randy, Prayers sent and I will continue to pray for you and your family. My son battled cancer twice and I know watching our kids go through this stuff is so very hard. I pray that you have a good support group as well. I know the people here support you and hold you and yours in our hearts.
  4. If I remember correctly there was a post at one time on how to build a wooden adapter on this forum. I built one the first time I owned my 2000 RSV and it worked quite well. However - after buying a Carbon One from a person on this forum - I agree - it is well worth the money. It provides tremendous stability as you lift your bike.
  5. Many think the Garmin 765T is one of the better GPS systems. Amazon has a good price as their deal of the day for$185. 6. 1969 Yamaha 125 Enduro 1984 Goldwing Aspencade 2000 Royal Star Venture MM 2002 VTX 1800 2005 Harley Ultra Classic 650 Suzuki Burgman 2000 Royal Star Venture MM I would have to say the 2000 Venture MM is my favorite. I love the color and this is the second one I've had. Part of what brought me back to the Venture is this forum.
  7. Hey Jack, I see you lived in Atlantic! Did you serve a church there? I served a little Church of Christ in Lewis - just south of Atlantic. Loved living in the area. Hope you can make it over for the day. Mark
  8. That's right - Knoxville is a great place if you like racing. Marshalltown and Des Moines race on Friday nights as well and both run a pretty good show. Iowa Speedway has bracket drag races as well. We can take our bikes out there and race one another! I'm a chaplain at the Iowa Speedway.
  9. If this bike was within 100 miles of me - I'd at least check it out - and if it ran well and hte paint job wasn't shabby, as ugly as it is, I'd buy it - put it in front of my house with a forsale sign - and make a few bucks to put into my RSV! Two years ago I bought a 86 Goldwing for $400 - hardwired the stator - parked it in front with a forsale sign - and sold it for $3,000!
  10. Did a search on phone number and it is a Maryland number. At least he gives his number and has a good rating.
  11. You are right - it must have a clear title. I wasn't impressed with the color but at the price a person could squint when the ride!
  12. I know it has a salvage title but this might make a nice ride for someone: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-YAMAHA-ROYAL-STAR-VENTURE_W0QQitemZ150419307446QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_motorcycles?hash=item2305b07bb6
  13. Yeah - but it doesn't have a cassette player!
  14. I purchased two Nitro 1/2 helmets from Iron Pony for less than $25 each and was surprised at how closely the color matches my 2000 MM. I picked them up for protection for my grandchildren when we do short rides. Last fall I bought the Vega full face in the same color from Iron Pony and was surprised at how it matched my colors as well. They may be made by the same company. They have other colors as well. Beats not having protection for the grandkids when you can't afford expensive helmets for everyone. Here's the link: http://www.ironpony.com/ironponydirect/product.asp/ImageName/nt200-champagne.jpg/Brand/NITRO/Class2/Helmets/Class3/Open%20Face%20Helmets
  15. We have Wally World in town - Napa and a few other auto places - Tractor Supply - etc. I have a huge grill so don't worry grilling - I'll get the stuff to grill unless people want to walk two blocks to Pizza Ranch - but grilling is no problem. In fact, I have two grills! I figure we can slap some burgers and brats on - and few side items - and we'll be good. I have a decent set of tools - jack - carbon 1 adapter - and might be able to borrow another jack. I'm don't know what kind of maintenance you do at these things - I just want to be ready. Of course I have like 5 months to prepare!
  16. This is exciting and I'm looking forward to a great day here in Newton. I will check to see if the Speedway is having drag races on Friday night if anyone wants to come over. They have bracket racing on the 1/8th mile straightaway and it is a good way to see the infield of the Speedway. I'll need some direction on what I need to do on this end to get ready. I've never attended a Maintenance Day so your suggestions will be helpful.
  17. Thanks - that's what I needed to know
  18. Are Khrome Werks slip ons for a Harley Touring the same pipes for the Venture?
  19. Notice, notice - the day has been changed to July 24th!!! Cougar and I would like to invite you to the First Iowa Maintenance Day in Newton, Iowa on July 17th. ATTENTION: DUE TO FAMILY REUNION WE MAY MOVE THIS TO THE 24TH. (3/23-2010) I will keep you posted! I know this is early but we want people to put it on the calendar. We have plenty of room with 4 garage stalls and a city park that borders our property. We live a few blocks from the I-80 interchange with hotels near by - one is 1/2 block from our house. We will get more information as time approaches. Please respond if you are interested in joining us!
  20. found it - now I need to buy passing lights!
  21. We have it narrowed down - It will be in July - either the 17th or 24th. Before we finalize the date let's see who is interested in which date works best. We have plenty of room!
