By my count that makes it 3 no's to 1 yes. Frank, it was all we could do to get him to wear a helmet. But even that didn't help with his welding (and I use that term graciously). Good thing Gary had lots of paint.

:bang head: Well I never... OK maybe once. But no more than two or three times.....

My Vote...... NO

Yes, and some of us had to come up with better ideas...... and prevent someone from putting 4 foot stacks on the roaster.... and pointing out the flaws, and the safety issues and the.... well knowing Steve and Gary, you folks get the idea..... Actually, if they want the real story.... I gets up at 5am ready to hit it. Gary stumbles out around 9am wondering where the coffee is. Then, about 11, Bubber finally wanders out complaining about all the noise..... There, NOW you know how the day actually went..... But even with all those hardships to overcome, we really did get some work accomplished.....

Here is what it looks like painted with satin BBQ Blackpaint. The one we built last year was splint on the tall side. It worked very well. But there was a distance of at least 2,5 feet from the bottom to the grill. With this one there is only 16 inches from the charcoal grate to the grill. This will save us quit a bit of charcoal and shorten the cooking time by at least 2 hours. Have also included some of the manuel labor pics. Now Bubber can start selling his woof tickets.

Here are a few of the pics taken during the work week end. We started out with a 200 gallon fuel oil storage tank. Built a trailer frame and mounted the tank on the frame. Cut the tank across the center to create a lid and then welded on the hinges and a handle. Used a sledge handle for the handle. Put staks on (Bubber was pushing for 4 foot stacks but sensible minds prevailed) Considered ading a blower motor fow better ventilation but decided against that. Added an extended, removable handle for ease of moving. Built two racks. The larger rack for the pig and a narrow rack for other items such as turkey, potatoes, corn on the cob etc. The racks can be slid to position over the coals to control cooking. Last photo is Bubber holding the Pork in the Pines sign. Had to give him something to do to make him feel impotent. :rotfl: Gary will be scaling and painting the cooker this week. More photos showing the actual work activities will be posted later.

Lets not discard this location too quick. A free camping area , bonfire and a possibly band has some real appeal. Heck, maybe even a pig roast on site rather than a sit down dinner wrap up..... And, as stated there are some great riding roads in the area....

Sure can..... It's tuff to show how things really went when the "real" worker, you know.. they guy doing all the heavy stuff.... was also the only one with a camera.... Really hard to do self portraits AND do all the work at the same time. Actually, I have been holding off telling the real tale. Waiting to see what "stories" Bubber and Grandpagak were going to throw out. Like they say, the first liar don't stand a chance. Will get the pics posted shortly. Then the truth can be told.....

Who was the long rider this year?

If anyone else is planning on showing up, Bubber and I will be going up tomorrow evening. Want to get an early start Saturday morning.

Hey Gary, I think you got the rally pics mixed up with pics from an AARP Convention. But it sure looks like everyone was having a great time. Oh well, there's always next year.....

In a word "Yes". If the policy limit is $3,500.00, that is the maximum amount the insurer is legally obligated to pay. If you are the claimant, and the other party only has a $3,500.00 policy limit, and your loss is greater than the stated policy limit, you can then file a claim for the difference under your under insured insurance.

No way... I demand a recount... (or whatever). What is it with the folks out East. How come I become such a loser whenever I cross the big muddie????

Local Police force switches to Victory from HD
Black Owl replied to Gary N.'s topic in Watering Hole
:15_8_211[1]:Smart move IMHO. A few years ago the Secret Service switch from HD to Yamaha's for presidential escort work. Unfortunately, Congress "forced" them to go back to HD citing the Buy America argument. The "G" men were not happy about having to switch back....- 20 replies

Glad everyone is having a great time and enjoying the efforts that the hosts put in to make it another great VR Event. Now, Who has my quilt??????

Just thought I would bump this up just in case there is a chance others can get away to help with the Pig Roaster.

Me thinks that this should be a question directed to Condor. I'm sure that with all his trailers, he has figured out a way to keep them from wandering off.....
