  1. we drag a 26 ft 5th wheel, and seldom use the propane heat. Mostly we use a small electric heater it works to take the chill off in the morning. Also will a 6.2 pull a trailer. I have heard they do not have a lot of power, or are we talking a 6.5 L turbo

  3. Thumbs down on the stacks, They might create to much of a draft and draw the heat off making cooking time longer.......my 2 cents Bubber how is it you can weld in shorts and a sleeveless shirt and shorts. Last time I tried that I had all these little red spots (burns) on my hide and still have the scars not to mention the sun burn from the flash:confused24:

  5. Radar Units used in sporting events usually have a very low frequency somewhere in the 10525 htz range, the newere modes are to fast and have a much higher frequency
  6. Laser isn't used from a moving platform mode because it is just a beam of light, and the laser unit measures the time of the flight of the light beam to calculate speed, The oporater picks a target (like shooting deer)and pulls the trigger and gets an instant reading. As for dopler radar you will be exposed to more radio energy with the TV remote., and yes the detector has to see the radar unit/beam to be of any good so If your first in the pack you might as well just pull over and wait to be awarded for your efforts.
  7. The deed is done, went to Princess Auto and got a funny looking filter wrench, that works off a 3/8 drive ratched. Cranked the old filter off, Lubed up the new rubber gasket and spun the new one on hand tight, topped up the little bit of oil that was in the filter and she is ready to roll. I like the Walmart oil change idea when on the road thanks guys
  8. Like Larry say's I would not leave the liquid cooled, Had a friend who rode an HD. and on more than one occasion he had to push it to the curb because it shut down sitting in traffic Just my thought
  9. Seen snow like that more than once but snow don't get in your shorts. All I can say is wow also
  10. The wife has hair down pat her shoulder and she alway put it into a couple of pig tails to avoid the helmet hair and it also keeps the ends from getting all tangled. Once she lost one of the rubber band do dads on on of the braid so, I dug into the bike and come up with a roll of black electrical tape. Couple of raps and we were off

  12. The wife and I have had our Pic taken quite a few time while riding Don't know why. I haved talked to folks I would never have talked to when at the gas pump or when coming out of a Tim Hortons. They always ask what it is like to ride isn't it cold can you really hear the sterio, I used to have a bike when I was younger or Wish I could afford one... All kinds of things. I think they as some guys have said would like to change places even just for a moment

  14. yep they make some nice seats for passangers, kind of a wrap around high back thing that bolts to the back carrier. Has storage. You need the foot pegs for the passanger as well
  15. Just bought a Yamaha 450 ATV. Wife thinks it is great I got her the seat on the back and the foot pegs
  16. Haven't got to the channel locks yet, I never put this filter on I think a dealer did because it is a new to me bike I bought at a dealer and was all serviced and ready to roll. and yep righty tight lefty loosey.
  17. I am convinced and will be pulling out the channel lock's, Might take a day or two to get at it, the to do list is getting pretty long... I will let you know how she pans/drains out. I have changed the oil but just couldn't get the filter off
  18. Thanks guys Silver T I have tried the punch method method in the past with cars and have not had much sucsess, Wound up going right down to the filter base using a chisel to finish the job. I haven't tried channel locks yet... never thought of it I did try one of those rubber strap wrenches but was starting to bend the fileter. Looks like I might have to get the wrench
  19. :confused24:I have tried and can't get the fileter off my wing. All my filter wrencehs ate to big. What are you other folks using??? thanks

  22. I din't get a chance to check all the great suggestions everyone has mentioned. I had the bike listed for sale because I have a GW also, and can't ride both and our insurance is just stupid expensive. Anyway some guy came along and decided he wanted it the way it was so my blond has found a new home, Sad to see her go because she was a great machine. Thanks again guys
  23. The laws as they are set out are pretty straight forward, Now lets add a lawyer and that is when it gets conveluded twisted and screwed up.... The wheels of justice turn slowly just always forward Having spent quite a few hours in a court room that is just my take on it
  24. Last summer I had the carbs off because they were plugged solid. I cleaned them up with the help of some great pick's from Dingy. When I put them back on she started right up and ran good other than sluggish off the line, after the carb sync. I was thinking I missed a jet in the cleaning process, so have been doing the sead foam treatment with all covors and shields in place. It starts good and idles just sluggish off the line. As the day progresses it seems to get a little better, with the occasional pop in the exhaust on hard acceloration, once she pops she catches and takes off. Am I by chance running lean??Weather is crappy now so won't be able to check anythinng out, but any sugestions are appreciated
  25. My 83 is sluggish and seems to be short on fuel at the lower RPM's It starts to take off and accerlerate at around 2500 and once at 3000 hang on. It idles good and all 4 pipes warm up evenly. It seems to get better as the day goes on. I am doing the sea foam in the fuel and plan on a carb sync. Any other suggestions??
