  1. And I was just looking around at some benchtop milling and turning machines last weekend. Do you know if they have any of these on the showroom for viewing? This is gonna cost me. Probably be there no matter what, Later, Scooter Bob
  2. Did you try a ratchet strap around the tread area of the tire? Squeezing in the tread usually causes the beads to spread out. Just my , Scooter Bob
  3. Thanks for posting, but I'm a Jif Creamy guy:banana:
  4. Is it an enclosed mount, or open like the factory mount? If it's an enclosed one, that would be better than what I have now, and I would be interested. Later, Scooter Bob
  5. Here's the one I use. It's about 3-4" shorter than stock and wider. http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Product.jsp?skuId=231513&store=Main&catId=&productId=p231513&leafCatId=&mmyId= Later, Scooter Bob
  6. It won't be hidden the next time I see you Bob.
  7. I scored my own last year about this time (see page 57 of this thread). But, I set that one on Jan 1st, and it was the beginning of March, and I rode 2,000 miles to get it, so I didn't feel too bad about cheating. The waterfall is a good target, IMHO, just not been good weather around here. I do know of a couple within 30 miles of here, but supposed to get snowed on again today. Later, Scooter Bob The current target is... You, your bike and a waterfall. by DanOh
  8. Is it hanging up close to the bottom of the tank, on the right side, above the rear head, black tube, black knob, about 1/2-3/4" diameter? If so, it is the idle speed adjustment. You can tweak it as needed for temp, weather, or... to set the idle way up so you can start the bike moving with just the left hand on the clutch while holding a 4 foot long 2x2 in your throttle hand to bust potatoes that are on the top of a bunch of sticks along the track. (believe me, it can work) Gotta love the bike games at the ABATE of WI Summer Hummer. Later, Scooter Bob
  9. I'm hopin' for a rainout, and postponement for 1 week. Then I'll be down there to watch. Either Way, Have fun Jeff, Scooter Bob
  10. I get a kick out of all the other folks at work when gas prices go up. They ask how much cheaper it is to take the bike to work instead of the Dakota. I have to explain it's no cheaper at all, just takes longer to get home! Later, Scooter Bob
  11. Figures that little environmentally friendly car would have... Petals instead of Pedals. Later, Scooter Bob
  12. Mine loves the 50-55 puttin' on the two laners, even better two up, or at least with camping gear fillin' the back seat between me and the trunk. We've gotten several tanks in the 47-48 mpg range, and I got one over 49 ridin' down through MI on the way to the International last summer. But I've never gotten over 50 either. Later, Scooter Bob
  13. Cool! Later, Scooter Bob
  14. Ya, this was a fun thread to watch. Whose idea was this anyways? Did you think this up on your own Boss, or did the missus help? Congrats Kevin. :scratchchin:So.....What ya gonna get?? Later, Scooter Bob
  15. You take a bike in for overheating, and it takes a month and a call to Mamma Yamma to figure out the FAN isn't working??? I wouldn't go there again! Later, Scooter Bob
  16. Ya, but any luck on catchin' the Dbag that hit it???
  17. I put the two of us down for maybe's. If the weather is warm, both of us will be there. If it's cold, but roads are dry, I'll be there. If the roads are crap, have fun without us. Later, Scooter Bob
  18. :sign kewl::sign kewl::sign kewl:
  19. I had high hopes of seeing a rocket launch when I rode down to bike week last year. Every day I checked on the way down, they had pushed it out another day. I didn't have enough time to keep hanging around. Maybe next time. Godd luck on your trip, would be great to see, that's for sure! Later, Scooter Bob
  20. What's in Texas that you'd leave lovely Wisconsin??? Oh wait, warmer weather. That's why I'm leaving for there on March 23, and will be gone for close to two weeks. But that's just me, so don't let me hold up your plans. Later, Scooter Bob
  21. I feel your pain. I put on 125 miles on Saturday to score one, and already knew I was gonna be done playing again for a few days Later, Scooter Bob
  22. Dangit LILBeaver, you got me thinkin'. Might be an interesting idea for a different "Photo Album" Scavenger hunt. Just to see where folks have been.
  23. After, the idea is to get folks out riding, and not just looking through old trip photos. But it is fun! Hope you can join in! Later, Scooter Bob
  24. The Great VR Scavenger Hunt!!! Find the link "Stickied" to the top of the "Fun and Frivioulous" topic. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20503&page=80 Several new players, and a lot of activity in the last 8 days. Here's what's transpired in the last few days. A pic of you and your bike and/at... Sign with a "Q" in it, hit on Feb 13 by DanOh a drive thru, hit on Feb 16 by DynoDon some flowers, hit on Feb 16 by SMSgt railroad crossbuck sign, hit on Feb 17 by EtcswJoe Military Memorial, hit on Feb 19 by Scooter Bob a watertower, hit on Feb 20 by DanOh old fashioned barber shop, hit on Feb 21 by EtcswJoe Come on everybody else, join in the fun! Here's a brief explanation of the few rules that DynoDon put together a couple weeks ago. The game is a scavenger hunt. You look for the current "target" get a picture of you and your bike and the target. IT is OK to have you in a reflection in the chrome or mirror since it may be hard if you are alone to get a picture of you and the bike and the target. most people take a second picture of the target and their bike just so people can see it better. the person that gets the current target then sets a new target. Past targets have been things like, (all of them start:)You and your bike and:__________ A police car at a donut shop, a tractor, pumpkin patch, scarecrow, bridge, lake etc etc. Anyone can play, and you only have to look back to the last target (usually just a few messages) to see what it is. Sometimes the "group" will vote on a target if it is kind of on the edge, but usually, you get the picture, post it and set a new target. For newbies, you will have fun going through the previous targets if you want. The more that play, the more fun. Be inventive with targets, but don't make them so hard or obscure that most people can't play. Try to stay away from targets that are only in one area (Pacific ocean, etc). A topical or seasonal target can be fun. One I got was a yard display of blow up Christmas decorations! Play and have fun! Later, Scooter Bob
  25. Nice Pics, both of you. T-shirt and Blue Jeans weather in SC?? I had to have all my snowmobile gear on Saturday. I'm soooo Jealous. So, Joe, what 's the next target I can look for in a week or so after this snow and ice gets off the roads?? Later, Scooter Bob
