  1. Out of Wisconsin and the cold and sleet and snow. Ya, Karen says theve got all that right now. It was 33 degrees and raining when I left. By the time I paid my dollar for the priviledge to read the "Welcome to IL" sign :whistling:the rain was mostly done. Major crosswinds from the East to the next fuel stop in Peru. Then met up with Dyno Don for a quick lunch for me at El Paso. Don led the way to Lincoln, with a little putt down some of Route 66, and another stop for a soda and a little more chat. Don headed North, and I headed to St Louis. I hit a little more rain around Springfield, and had to stop shortly after for fuel. I must have been running straight into the wind for a while now, because I got the low fuel light at only 140 miles. Right on DynoDon! That trip around the bottom of the big city wasn't all that bad. Only puckered up my @$$hole a couple times (did I mention I hate big city traffic). I've got a room for the night in Sullivan, MO (exit 225 off I44). Just over 500 miles for the day, and about where I had originally planned on being tomorrow night. Could be a lot of sight seeing for the next 3 days to get to MD. Oh, and it's 68 degrees, and I think I here crickets chirping. More to come, Scooter Bob
  2. So Jeff, How did the flying go?? Later, Scooter Bob
  3. Tuesday it is, for leaving out of here, I hope... I'll have to see what the roads look like in the morning, might get some snow tonight too. Later, Scooter Bob
  4. Yey, though Omaha isn't rural, everything around you is. If your not a fan of the big city stuff, I would suggest you just keep heading East from Indy, and switch your whole route around. Get the big city stuff done early, and then enjoy the rest of the trip. Mt Washington in NH is quite a ride, and there is a lot of great scenery around there as well. For me, the coastal stuff was way too busy, but I did manage to spend 48 hours in ME just ridin' around. Just my , Scooter Bob
  5. Try another plug first, and the back ones are easy anyways. If that fires, time to start looking for a stuck float maybe?? Later, Scooter Bob
  6. Might want to ride down here for a little education. most everything you need to do will be on display there. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=56217 Later, Scooter Bob
  7. Sorry  Maybe somebody else will see this and figure out how to get it over to central IL by Tuesday. Cus I really don't want to do the Chicago thing on the way either. Later, Scooter Bob
  8. And I looked at this thread briefly yesterday morning, and it didn't dawn on me then. Not sure about yer neighborhood, but Monday weather looks good here. Could you get it strait west? If so, I could send a couple PM's out to find a place to leave it overnight. Or you could just meet me for a late lunch on Tuesday around Bloomington. Let me Know, Scooter Bob
  9. If you don't find a better deal on here... Did you check with Utopia to see about a cover change? Just a thought, Scooter Bob
  10. Midrsv, Can I have yer site name now?? Nice ride, Enjoy, Scooter Bob
  11. I thought that looked like a pretty big moon last night from the hot tub:thumbsup2:, but we didn't have a camera out there with us.
  12. If somebody can get it to central IL by Tuesday, I could drag it to TX with me. After the MD there, I will be heading to NM and maybe the 4 corners, then to Colorado Springs, before heading back to WI. Does anybody in Eastern CO want it?? Oh, I have a 6 round and a 4 flat connector on the bike, so that should work. Just a thought, Scooter Bob
  13. I sure hope there's sunshine when I get to TX. I was planning on leaving Wednesday morning, but the weather guys have been mentioning that four letter word again for Tuesday night and Wednesday. Looks like I might leave on Tuesday in upper 30's and rain, but at least I can get out of here. DynoDon, does Tuesday work for a drying out lunch in the middle of IL? Later, Scooter Bob
  14. IH Truck Guy is gonna be pretty mad that you didn't get that pic. I'm just sayin', Scooter Bob The curret target is... You, Your Bike. and a River with ICE Flowing downstream, by ragtop69gs
  15. Yee Haa, I just read another thread on here, and it turns out there might be some glowing particles to help keep it aloft till I get there next Friday. Later, Scooter Bob
  16. Have a great time Jeff. Wish I could watch. Hey, maybe there'll be a huge updraft, and you'll still be tryin' to land her come next Friday!! Enjoy, Scooter Bob
  17. I think you meant like this, Dano
  18. Oh No, The Wednesday weather just showed up with 27 degrees overnight and a 30% chance of snow. I'll keep in touch as things get closer (and more believable), but if it looks like snow overnight, I may head out Tuesday night and try to get 3 hours south before dark (and hopefully rain then-not snow). Later, Scooter Bob
  19. Sounds like a plan Don. I'll keep in touch. Bikes all tuned up and checked over and ready to go. One week from now, I hope to be in the middle of MO. Later, Scooter Bob
  20. BUD LIGHT here:beer: Do I get a prize for the right answer Bill??
  21. Nice Truck! The cuurent target still is... You, your bike with a classic car at least 30 years old. by etcswjoe Have at it boys! I put on a 120 miles after work:banana:, but didn't see any classic cars out yet. I did see a couple trucks that old, but it does say cars. There are a few old cars in the process of becoming classic looking next to the local drive in, but the snow banks are too high to get in there close enough to get a good pic. 22. Welcome Aboard Jeff. I hope you didn't get a good one, or you'll be two targets behind by the time you figure out how to get the pics resized to fit this site. Just ask EUSA1. Have fun playin', Scooter Bob The next target is You, your bike with a classic car at least 30 years old. by etcswjoe
  23. Good on ya Don. I'd really hate to see a perfectly good Venture on a trailer. Do you wanna meet for Lunch next wednesday about now? http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=57490 Later, Scooter Bob The next target is You, your bike with a classic car at least 30 years old. by etcswjoe
  24. Better go today. I rode to work today, and it should be 55 and sunny when I leave. I'll be huntin' for several hours this evening. Later, Scooter Bob The next target is You, your bike with a classic car at least 30 years old. by etcswjoe
  25. Will do Tom. I plan on heading over thata way on Sunday the 27th after leaving the SE TX MD in Waller. I might try to get a little lost on the back roads for a while, but I'll give you a ring when I'm in the neighborhood. Later, Scooter Bob
