  1. You are right. Your calipers may have to be rebuilt - some librication of some sort. Your mirrors can be replaced. This just remind us all how heavy our bike is. Always pay attention and be mindful of the weight. Glad to hear you are home with no other major issues.
  2. For some reason, I see very little difference whether I cruise at 65 or 75 mph.
  3. My 5 year old Yuasa oem had a sitting voltage of 12.4V with over 34K miles and every winter has been supplying me with needed power for my Gerbings. I know it would still start my bike, but I think keeping my old battery longer is on borrowed time. A premature death of the batt is imminent. So I decided to stay with the trusted Yuasa brand and now I also have the peace of mind as I ride far away from home knowing my bike will start with confidence.
  4. Simply wave and at the same time pay close attention to riding. If your left hand is on the clutch then don't sacrifice your safety just to wave or wave back. Never take it personal, if the rider does not wave back. This is my mentality.
  5. With the size of RSV battery, I make sure to charge the battery no more than 2 Amps at 12 Volts. I have a new Yuasa installed and it is performing ok so far.
  6. Congrats on your 'new to you' ride. Lots of members here that know your bike. Ride Safe.
  7. Glad all is ok.
  8. This shows us there is very little reaction time whenever a deer appears in front of us while riding. Have fun and be careful out there.
  9. Yesterday, I got the chance to replace my old Yuasa battery. It has been on the bike for about 6 years. The old battery will still start the bike, but the sitting voltage was at 11.5 volts. Before I installed the new battery, I first gave it a slow 2 amp charge for about an hour. Having this new battery is good for my peace of mind.
  10. Welcome Cfox...!!!
  11. The last time I did my shaft, I had my son use a hanger to lift it up for me. It took a few tries and made sure it is connected properly.

    Accident

You had a close call. Also glad to know you are fine.
  13. Prayers to your family. Have a safe trip.
  14. My Prayers to you for a cure. Be strong. And remember...Miracles do happen.
  15. Yep. It is not a lot of miles for 2 years, so I am seriously thinking and gauging it as to when I should find time and do it.
  16. For the litmus test, I will assume test the coolant from the radiator not from the reservoir. Right?
  17. The last time I replaced coolant was 2 years ago. I want to replace coolant soon, but can I still hold on for another year thinking that engine coolant is still good. What do you guys think?
  18. Did you do any wiring installation lately? If so, wires could be kinked and/or shorted causing a fuse to blow.
  19. If I am not mistaken, you can make a claim to your local govt regarding your damage. Document what happened and seek legal advise if possible. Your state can be liable for the damages you have incurred.
  20. That NAPA ff to the left looks very much like what I have on my JD Tractor.
  21. Sorry to hear about your mishap. Heal well. Hope someone can help you on bike parts.
  22. Nice color. Congratulations.
  23. I've been thinking about Delo but really not sure for the RSV. Rotella has been proven on RSVs so I will stick to this brand and not take a chance. Rotella 15W40 for Spring/Summer and Fall. T5 for winter riding.
  24. RIP rider.
