  1. I saw a while ago about a device that is called a speedo healer. A few guys on here are using it and at one time posted a website with the information on it. Im gonna look for it too. Get back to you. I plan on getting one ovee the winter. Here is the link: http://www.speedohealer.com/eng/intro.htm
  2. When have you ever seen dry rot on the inside? Dry Rot is caused by the effects of chemicals on the outside of the tire and also UV rays breaking down the surface rubber. The compound of the rubber on the tire is a factor too. For example Michelin used a more synthetic compound to the Rubber and being a little harder also are very prone to the cracks. Even though light surface Cracking is normal all these things are a factor. To say that it will prevent cracking is hysterical.
  3. Ok- Here is the low down on Nitrogen. I own a tire shop in NY so I hope I can help. After doing much research I can tell you there really isnt much advantage. Nitrogen theory is that regular air over time will cause the components in the tire to break down. No that is not the fact. The only real advantange you get from Nitrogen is that it will not expand like regular air. This is only because there is no moisture. Well shouldnt be. You can get just as much moisture in Nitrogen as in air depending on how it is stored. Regular pump air will expand or contract 2lbs for every 10 degrees of temp. For example if you set you tire with an outside temp of 70 degrees and it drops to 60 you could loose 2 lbs of pressure. Basically you are better with super dried regular air. You can spend your money getting nitrogen in your tire but you are really just wasting your money. Use a good water seperator and you are just as good. As far as tires running cooler that is not true either. Friction causes the heat and proper inflation is a more important factor than want is in it. You will only benefit if you start the day at 100 degrees and drop to 30 degrees. All the rest is how good they market a new idea. Works good in racecars but for on the highway just another thing to sell. I dont put it in mine. Scotty
  4. Seriously Larry, How many of these do you have out? I would think there is still a chance to get tha patent and since the other guy has it on ebay that shows advertisement so we know under those rules he cant patent your idea now. Make a small modification and say we have prototypes if asked. I would persue it. You have a great product and Idea!!!
  5. We arent the public. Well sort of. We are research and development. Test bed for pre marketing. Thats my story.
  6. Monsta, Its easy enough to put on and take off the centerstand. I bought the lift adapter but its easier for oil changes to just use the center stand to get the level right. Im using both! Both have a purpose. I usually put my bike in the sir for a few weeks in January but unless something breaks I dont put it up until the next winter. I use the center stand for the regular work that I want the bike straight up for but dont need it off the ground. Keep both!
  7. Yeah Monsta. Go with the one Carbone One makes. Not only is it much more secure but if you need to leave it up for a few days get the type with the legs and you dont even need the jack under it. I hate leaving the jack under because it it tough to get the lock bars off to get it back down. Larrys one is much easier to use. I didnt want to spend the money either but Im very glad I did!!!
  8. Yup! Thats it!
  9. Greg, All you have to do is go to JP cycles and they have everything you need. Just get the measurements and you can assemble anything you need
  10. Nope! No matter which pipes you choose you will not need to mess with the carbs.
  11. About a week ago I purchased my Gerbing heated gloves. The didnt seen a warm as they should so I guessed I had a problem. I called the Harley dealer that I bought them and found they were now on back order. Later in the day I recieved a call from a nice young lady at Gerbing. Her name is Sarah. I have never been treated so good in my life. No questions asked she told me that she was gonna UPS a new pair to me and send a call tag for for the pick up of the other ones. She also asked me about how the fit was. I did feel I got ones that were a little to big so she sent the one size smaller. I have heard nothing but good about that company but it takes a problem and how they deal with it to show them shine!!! Besides having the best warranty they are a pleasure to deal with. Oh and one more thing-- She sent the new ones over night and said it was because it is cold and I need them now. Hows that for customer service!!!
  12. Im getting the Venture Dad one. I think to use those carriers you need the square reciever. That or the khromewerks but the Venture dad is cheaper and you will find that quite a few here have them.
  13. Hey Gary, I got the solution for you. You will need a trailer hitch but after that check out this site. They make golf bag holders that go in the hitch reciever and seem cool. http://www.alsmotorcycleaccessories.com/
  14. The lights do have an 1157 base. Mine work as running and Brake lights. All my other lights are LED and I plan to put in the LED bulbs as soon as I get some Jingle!!!
  15. I have a Homelite gas powered one. It also has the leaf Vac. I cant be bothered with cords so I like this better.
  16. Oh Crap!!! That was hysterical. I am a diehard Islander fan and that is they funniest thing I have heard in a long time!!!!
  17. Hey there. Greg is right about it being the second best color but they are all good. I think Stardbog is onto something. It is still under warranty!
  18. This is the one I plan on getting. I have the Ram one and Its not bad but I hate having so much crap hanging in front of me. I saw a buddy with this nifty little magnetic one and its neat and out of the way. http://www.magneticcupholder.com/products.html
  19. Ohhhhhh!!!! You'll go straight to H*ll for that one. Where should I send the flowers??? LOL
  20. Well let me be among the first to say You will like it here. Come often and remember we are all friends here!!! They just put tires on huh? I wonder if they disconnected or broke something with the speed sensor in the rear Diff. Does the speedo work? Other than that its just a little beyond what I can help with. No worries though-- in short order someone will give you the help you need.
  21. You do have many opinions. You didnt answer the brighter statement and you also didnt address the many lights in one spot vs one bulb to fail statement either. What all of us that have LED have found to be benefits I guess dont sway you but those of us who made the change seem to be very happy so I guess it is all just opinion. For me it is proven by application. All the things I have suggested are currently in use on my own ride and work very well for what that is worth. You dont need to do it to your own.
  22. Yeah me too but its all good!!!
  23. Yes. With not Load you will use less power. you can use either one if you want but what is the point. The standard flash rate is the one you want. The point Im getting at is why have the extra current draw if you dont need to and why hack you harness. Definite benefit to the LEDs thought for safety and look.
  24. No they arent using the same amount of current. If you put the equalizer in they are because it fools the curcuit into thinking there is the same load. Thats why they say dont use the flasher if you have and equalizer in there. The relays that I posted are set up differently. they are not Solid State and are not affected by load. Buddy is right you loose you self canceller but that is acceptable I think. You only need the relay I posted for the Hazards. Not the kit you posted as the bike already has hazards. just plug the relay in and they will work too and not over heat. This is how my bike is currently set up and working fine. I prefer the LEDS also as they are brighter and resistent to failing. Better to have thirty small bulbs than one that can go out. Imagine if your taillight bulg burns out and you have no other light on the bike. LED all the way. Just my opinion!
  25. Good because its buying time and and Im Scottish! That means Im only buying 2-- not 3 as an experiment. I like the look of the lartger tire anyway.
